fixed a friend's caster after he vacationed in Florida fishing saltwater... corrosion on the edge of the spool... took some sandpaper and touched up the edge ... worked fine after... i saw your casting test comparing to the shimano and pulled the trigger on the "soybean"... ive had great luck on the economy bait casters including a piscifun torrent i bought on amazon for 23.00 on sale on the other hand i have high end shimanos from the early nineties that are still in my rotation
Glad to see you back with shimano I told Heath and Lucky once your contract was over you would drop Lews and come back home (Shimano) Now just get you another Hobie and you'll be the guy that first threw me to kayak marsh fishing 👍🏾👍🏾 I am (thefishfinder74)
Great info Mark the one of the thing about the Turret I did not like was the drag it is real bad I fixed it by changing the drag washers to some I made out of leather and it worked prefect as far as that went, but just like this reel it did not last long before it got rough .
All reels will got that kind of problem with saltwater and sand inside the reel. And I have enough experience with the premium reels I have. All my saltwater reels require constant maintenance especially after use in surf fishing.
Mark this is just my opinion and may not be worth much but I enjoy all your videos that don’t involve the Hskiff. I been watching all your kayak videos for about a year and now your knew channel (off the water) and find all these videos enjoyable. The Hskiff platform I’m not really interested in and causes me lately not to watch your videos much. Your are still one of my favorite channels and wish you much success.
Sacrifice some chickens..... bwahahahah. That's awesome! Keep doing what you're doing. Haters gonna hate. People forget that the review is based on your experience, your set up, your casting style, etc. Tight lines and thanks for the content.
yes sir that is the salt that is causing the grinding gear. this real isn't ment to be for salt water so you have to soak it is regular water after each daily use of salt water fishing that's what I do with mine hope this helps
sorry but Totally disagree !! its a great Reel !! I bought 1 to check it out and then was SO pleased with performance that a week later i bought 2 more of these over a year ago and NEVER have had any problems at all .... no matter what Rod or Line size / type ( even put 65lb Braid on 1 of them on my frog Rod ) ...but hey that's just ME ...I LOVE 💞 THEM 😎 the swing out side plate was an added bonus .. never have to worry about dropping it 👍
@@joedennehy386 when I use #65 braid I'm fishing the California Delta Punching thru thick Lilly pads Heavy cover Thick weed mats In and around tullies so you need a line that will hold up and cut thru the heavy cover ... I've heard of guys using 80# braid .....
Can you do a review on an Abu Garcia Black Max and put it to the test of time like you did with That Sougayiland? That reel is about 40 dollars also. Thanks Mark
Good stuff Mark. I wanna see you review each and every one of your high end stuff. Also, a cast battle between them would be cool.
Thx for the honest reviews I knew it was gonna tap out before the slx but I'm big fan of slx DC I abuse mine and it takes it
Hey Tim now I know who's behind weird fish. Lol was good to meet you bro.
Was great meeting you Saturday ,
Great info on reel comparison from high to low.

Why dont you just take it apart and clean it, grease it and oil it?
Right!

I tried a few barley made it through the summer.
Thanks for the info if I lived out there and I saw you how I want to say hi in person and I even not in person with you and I’m still gonna say hi
Sir am from india plz i cant understand u r language plzz tell me in one word plzz is this good reelfor frog casting or bad??
I’ve seen you at chocolate before I may just ask for the soybean next time I see you
Sounds like the pawl/worm gear are getting worn and need to be replaced. Maybe even a loose cap holding the pawl in.
Sir plzz tell me thisis good reelor bad i wanto buy this reel
Haha. When have we ever known Chinese product to be of good quality?
They are only known to imitate, but never duplicate.
Definitely prefer these videos instead of on the water.
Thats the difference between soyabean and shimano, engineering and longevity. Have you taken it apart
This isn't a saltwater reel. Of course saltwater ruined it. Use it for its intended purpose and it will probably last much longer. Duh.
And it’s “close but no cigar”
They do perform well but the build quality isn't there that's why people pay the extra for shimano or the likes
Thanks for the info, no salt for that reel... Sounds like bad engineering.
Sougayilang needs to fix the known issues or fail as a company.
Sacrifice some chickens! Lmao!
As much as I fish I don’t think that reel would last me more then 3 months
This reel not designed for use in salt water!
Almost every reel I use isn’t designed for saltwater.
I still haven't received my reel that I won
I just mailed it today.
First one here 🤣
