  • In Taryl's final installment of 2020's Halloween how-to series, we bring you "The Glob". Taryl and Elk Skins blow up a Krohler 25 hp engine then crack it open to show you what it looks like inside. What damage has been done and just what happens, when the engine lets loose?
    Before and after the how-to, Junior discovers a glob inside a carbatrator. Soon, the glob grows into something no one was prepared for... but what does the glob want? Can Taryl and Jr take on... THE GLOB?!?

    When the engine slows down, it is only natural to give the engine more throttle. Then when there is more clearance on the rod the engine picks up speed again. But if the throttle is kept wide open then the explosion is really big.

    if it was run low anuff on oil to eat up one rod it junked both rods and crank most likly

  • @calholli
    @calholli Рік тому

    No, what happens is: once the rod starts to seize to the crank, it slaps the piston side to side against the cylinder. Which either ends up breaking a rod or exploding the piston.

    I totally understand why you would not want to re-build that engine, however, you would have a lot more spare parts to save another engine if you had not let it explode. (But it did make for a great video). Thanks!

    the engine is trashed when ran out of oil but trashed further when u ran it knocking. as it be a good used engine or if the customer decides to get a Predator 703cc engine from Harbor Freight. as be additional labor for that engine. a used briggs is his option.

      I saw a video a few years back, of someone who on purpose, blew up a good running Kohler Command single cylinder. Yeah, one of the good ones. They drained the oil then ran it till it threw its rod. Took a good 5 min or more if I remember right. I commented on their video that they had effed up, and ruined a great engine.

      Unfortunately I wasn't as careful as you. I kept forgetting to check the oil on my riding mower and used it extensively for lawn service. Over time it burned alot of oil and was running low but i never noticed. One day i started it up and drove a short distance. Everything sounded normal to me. Less than a minute later the engine threw a rod. Absolutely destroyed.
