I've got a bk7 that I've taken camping a bunch and backpacking once too. I got aftermarket kydex sheath that holds it tight and micarta handles and now it's perfect and I can slice, carve and chop with it for hours. I wouldn't mind having all the sizes of bk knives but I figured the 7 inch was a good all around starting point and it's definitely held up and impressed me. Thanks for the video and enjoy your bk9 for years to come 👍

Becker himself has said that with the BK9, the BK16 and the BK11 he'd be covered, knife-wise.

I went with the up grades. I had the scales changed to G10 . I love the feel of micarta. However, it has a tendency to absorb bodily fluids (blood etc.) . It's a pain trying to remove blood that has been absorbed in micarta scales. Hence, I use G10 whenever possible . Additionally, I had the top swedge sharpened for increased penetration and better "back cut" ability. A very robust combat knife, indeed.

I bought two of these BK-9 Knives a few years ago. They are an impressive blade. This knife is actually very customizable. I know that some have removed the handle scales and installed a Paracord handle.
I like the idea of the tape for added grip. I was thinking about cutting some like bike inner tube and fit that over the handle for grip. You can use a Dremel tool and reconfigure the handle scales to gain extra grip. As long as you are careful it would have to be shallow work though. I always meant to use one of my blades and strip the coating and engrave it chemically. And do some kind of stone wash to it but so far I never got around to it. Just too busy with some other things.
I really like the knife it does feel great in the hand. You can definitely rely on this blade whether you require it for survival or for use in a combat scenario. It comes with a nice enough nylon sheath. But I would prefer a Kydex sheath. They should have it as an option.

Thank you for the video brother. I love your channel. I think that is a beast of a knife, you're pretty darn good at throwing it too. I like the dull finish the blade length and the look and design. It is versatile. It can be used for Bushcraft, throwing practice, can use as a machete for chopping things and could be used for self-defense. I think Michael Myers would be depressed; he got his chip chop don't stop machete from Walmart 50% off. Ya see Mike, cutting corners on quality isn't always smart. ☹️😂 Thanks for the review I'm going to seriously think about purchasing one. God bless you. 🙏🕊️✝️😎👍✌️

I do not know, if you know this. But, the tang under the handle scales has been skeletonized, to reduce weight I guess. So there are two cut outs under the handle scales. With that grip tape on the handle you wont be able to get the snap strap on the sheath closed. As far as a point goes. My Condor Moonshiner, Cold Steel 1917 Frontier Bowie knife, and my Cold Steel Scottish Dirk beat the BK9 hands down. I see the BK9 as a hack and slash weapon. As for other chores, I would not try to clean a fish with it :) Stay sharp and have a nice day :)

You see, in Australia, we have increasing home invasions, and we are not allowed to have guns for self protection in our homes. Secondly I would love it if you did a video not only with some knife recommendations for women, but (if it is something you know about)- then including an honest appraisal of just how much training a woman should really get to be able to wield it properly. A policewoman told me straight to my face- if you are going to have a weapon, it can be even more dangerous than not having one, IF you don’t know how to get in quick with it -because the rapist / killer in your house will just take it off you and use it on you. AND ON GOES THE MOST OVER RATED KNIFE EVER MADE! IT IS NO GOOD FOR PREPPING GAME, NO GOOD FOR SMALL FINE WORK, BUT LIKE SO MANY ALWAYS SAY, IT'S A GREAT CHOPPER! WELL ANY AXE WILL DO A BETTER JOB AT THAT. COMBAT BEAST? NAH A SMALLER BLADE WILL BE AGAIN BETTER, AND WHAT COMBAT IS THE AVERAGE JOE BLOW GOING TO TAKE PART IN? AS THE SAYING GOES, DON'T BRING A KNIFE TO A GUN FIGHT! NOW IT LOOKS GOOD, BUT SO DID MY EX WIFE, AND SHE GOT THE BOOT YEARS AGO. IF YOU WANT AN ALL CAN DO KNIFE, IT NEEDS TO BE SMALLER, THINNER IN BLADE THICKNESS, THE BK7 IS A WAY BETTER KNIFE IF YOU WANT A BECKER, I HAVE LOST COUNT OF ALL THE FOOLS I HAVE SEEN WITH THEIR SURVIVAL VIDEOS BASHING THEIR BK9 TO SPLIT WOOD, FOR SHITE SAKE, GET AN AXE! STILL THINK IT IS A COMBAT BEAST? TAKE A LOOK AT WHAT SPECIAL FORCES USE AS A BLADE, SMALLER, LIGHTER MAKES IT FASTER TO HANDLE, LESS WEIGHT TO CARRY, THE LIST GOES ON AND ON AND ON, BUT DOUBT MOST ON HERE WILL EVEN GET WHY IT IS A NICE WALL HANGER AT BEST.

SKIN THAT BUNNY, DRESS THAT DEER? THAT LEAVES CHOPPING WOOD, AGAIN GET AN AXE, IT WAS INVENTED FOR THAT ROLE. BUT THE BK9 MIGHT BE USED IN COMBAT, THAN I OR YOU WITH A SWORD WOULD WIN RULING THE BK9 AS A FAIL COMBAT WISE. NOW IF YOU LOOK AT A KNIFE FOR SURVIVAL, ALL AROUND USE, THE BK9 IS OUT DONE BY MANY KNIVES THAT ARE SHORTER/SMALLER. I AM SURE YOU HAVE HUNTED, AND FISHED, TRY USING THAT BK9 TO DRESS A DEER, TRY PREPPING THAT FISH FOR DINNER WITH THAT BK9, GOOD LUCK WITH THAT. AND WHEN I WAS ON MY CRUSADE IN THE MIDDLE EAST, NONE OF US HAD A KNIFE THE SIZE OF A BK9, EVEN MARINES WOULD LAUGH AT YOU IF THAT'S WHAT YOU TAKE INTO REAL COMBAT, HEAVY AND SLOW TO WIELD TO SAY THE LEAST, BUT HEY GO AND BUY IT, I HAVE SEVERAL KNIVES AS BIG AS THE BK9, BUT YOU HAVE TO USE A BIG BLADE FOR WHAT IS MADE FOR, HOW MANY ON HERE HAVE SEEN COMBAT OR EVER WILL? A BLADE IS A LAST RESORT WEAPON, THE MAIN PURPOSE OF A BLADE IS STILL CUTTING, PREPPING GAME/FOOD, WHEN IT COMES TO COMBAT I PREFER SOMETHING WITH A TRIGGER, LONG ARM FIRST, SHORT AS BACK UP, THAN MAYBE A KNIFE, BUT IF YOU GO INTO COMBAT AND HAVE TO GO FROM LONG, TO SHORT AND STILL NEED A KNIFE YOU ARE DOING SOMETHING WRONG, OR 6 FOOT UNDER. AND THE CAPS, I HAVE REASONS FOR IT, MAIN REASON, TO GET FLAKES TO BITE ☺@@Chris-eo9kh
