"Stimple"?!? Is that even a word?!? 🤭😁 I did the same thing with my BK9. I ended up buying handles for the bk9 because it is awesome. The original sheath is fine for me, as I like to carry the big ol' son on my pack. I used a round carving type bit on my dremel. I did not upgrade my BK2 but put the stippled handle on it. 👍
Ive been doing that to plastic handles with a soldering iron for 20+ years . After a little sandpaper . And its better than most scales . Of coarse ive worked construction my whole life and paper cuts arent a thing 😂🤣
@@peterbiltknifeguy lol traveled the world chasing work. Commercial plumber for me. Started using a solder iron on plastic gunstocks. They have gotten alot better now days. Hands are hard wife is gone kids are grown. Grand kids abound. And the new blessings are great grand kids . 6 kids 13 grand kids and 1 great grand child . I am truley blessed
I saw one where the guy used the little drum sander and just kind of touched it in a randomized pattern. Gave it a unique flint knapped look I really like.
Very cool looking knife in its stock form, but you did an awesome job stippling it. I agree about not putting a ton of money into modding things, although I can see the value when it can turn a disappointing purchase into a grail status item. Thanks for showing the process you used, I've seen some cool ones on gl0ck handles using a snakeskin shaped tip.
I have Dogwood Customs on mine. They were around $45 a couple years back. They have glow crystals in them for night time needs. Sounds cheesy but they are nice. Excellent job on yours also. Looks great
new sub here! i would love to go for the bk 9 (170€) but the sheath sucks so badly and i got a fancy skrama custom kydex for 180€ lately and the wallet still recovers from the fobos tier 1bc purchase which is in miami right now...77$ shipping to austria and customs soon will hit me hard where the €feelings hurt. awesome content, keep it up!
The price is right as it looks good and even if you did not like it then you are buying handles anyway....I just wish they would upgrade those handles a bit and pass it along....Nice job....Good stuff....
Honestly, That is a far more effective way to get grippy handles. I have had micarta scales on one Becker, G10 on another and I feel that those are not any more "gripper" than the stock handles, and they definitely get slick after awhile. Hockey or skateboard tape is a far better and cheaper option. Actually your idea is better, I have callouses all over my hands so I don't mind it being 'overly grippy. but some guys with baby soft hands might find that a problem!!
@@peterbiltknifeguy Don't. You have a very good idea there. Trust me, I've had micarta scales & G10, and they really are not that much of a difference in terms of grip and they do get 'slick' after a while and micarta is a sponge for dirt & discoloration. I wish I would have known this a lot sooner and could have saved quite a few a bucks (at $60 for micarta, $90 for G10 in Canadian!). They actually make the handle a bit heavier since they are solid scales, not like the stock scales which are milled on the inside and keep the knife light. You could actually trim off some strike anywhere matches, and actually make them fit & store them in the stock handle of the Beckers while keeping an allen wrend in the pouch to get to them. I'm not changing mine anytime soon but I'll probably do what you did to yours, that looks grippy and looks cool.
I think you did an excellent mod to that handle, looks very grippy. 👍Thanks for sharing, take care and Cheers!
Thank you. IT’s feels great in hand too
It looks great
Technique works well on Glock knife handles too
Definitely should. Same material

This is fantastic. thanks!
I put a little Howes pro hockey tape on the grip and it feels pretty good.
Also bought mine a few years ago for like $90
Looks great! I need to do this to my BK2!
Well done, that is a cool mod!
I use a Dremel with either diamond burs or rotary files to add texture to handles. I usually do some type of line pattern
That's a great idea!
I saw one where the guy used the little drum sander and just kind of touched it in a randomized pattern. Gave it a unique flint knapped look I really like.
I wonder if you could just use a burning iron to put in a line pattern instead of having to use the dremel.
@@shockwave6213 yes you can. But you have to be very delicate. If you search you can find videos of a few guys that use wood burners on Glocks too.

That was really cool, thanks for sharing bud.
Glad you enjoyed it

Good video.
Good mod.

It’s been fantastic so far. I don’t even want to change the scales now
