That red area to the right of the middle of the map remained red to this day thanks to the glorious leader martyr Issam Zaherddine, may the hero rest in an eternal peace.
Uncle Ruckus Major-general Issam Zahereddine was the commander of SAA operations in Deir ez Zor city for nearly three years. Under his command the city endured three years of siege, defeated the ISIS scumbags and at one point even started to expand. Sadly he was killed two weeks ago by a mine. The worst part is that he went to Hell and back just to be killed by a mine. He was on the front with a rifle every day of the siege.
God bless you. From my impression of following Syrian news, the regions taken by Nusra Front seems a bit less on your map. In any case you have created a great resource for anyone that wants to discuss the history of Syrian war. Thanks a bunch. Looking forward to other such educational videos.
I can't point to any specific date or area. It was just an impression. You have obviously done a great deal of reseach and painstaking work. I am going to subscribe to your channel to follow future changes. Since you are closely following Syrian situation, I suggest that you introduce a 'war update' component on your channel in the following manner: Run an update of the map and on a side bar run clips of major news items. I think you will have a lot of subscribers. Just some thoughts :) All the best and looking forward to seeing more of your work on the Channel. All the best.
This actually took me a little over 2 full working weeks, but it was cool work. About Russian involvement: I couldnt find an actual spot where they control territory. I tried to keep it as simple as possible by only including factions that control territory. Otherwise the list would get very, very long.
Ah ok, it was a great watch still. I guess for stuff like Latakia Airbase you could do little boxes or an air field strip to represent army bases and airfields.
Russia has three bases in Syria . As well the USA has bases in Syria . This was more a proxy war than it was a civil war . It was by proxy an attempted in behalf of US interests to topple the Syrian gov. This caused Russia to step in .
BS russian info wars above ^ US only intervened when Assad used WMDs against his own people. Russia came to syria to make money and save its friendly corrupt oppressign tyrant which protects their interests.
Assad never used chemical weapons against his own people it was later revealed that it was actually Free Syrian Army rebels with sponsorship from Turkey which used them.
Good news, the war is won, the only province were there are terrorists left who pose a threat is Idlib. The Assad goverment ended up victorious at last.
The Rojava people are the only ones in this war that stand for all human rights of their countries people instead of one sided religious ignorance. I will support and defend anything the Rojava people need to liberate the country from tyrannical powers. Love all, Trust some, Harm none. Pro choice, I choose humanity, not insanity.
Kurds are nice but some of them also did bad things in the war. Also, they are predominantly Sunni. So, they are not the opposite of one-sided religious ignorance
You have forgotten the recent ISIS offensive against HTS in Hama, Turkish intervention in Idleb, First phase of Operation Wrath of Euphrates too. But it's still a great video !
Half of the jihadists in Idlib are under Turkish control. The other half is under our influence. This is not an intervention. The people in the idlib are not our first priority. First priority is YPG. Sooo, not intervention. The government gradually began to support Assad. Soooooo all the opponents were brought to the border of Turkey. Because neither Russia nor America could keep them under control. Because they are not Muslims. Iranian? Iran is not in Sunni sect. And Iran is fighting with them. There is only Turkey that does not fight with them. Not intervention. And also for now I do not think there will be an incident near İdlib and the border of Turkey. There is a political turmoil in my country. Erdogan is losing votes. And the only reason they lose this vote is foreign policy.
If they don't hand over control of these territories and abandon the idea of splitting and having this imaginary country, they'll be next for sure. Just look at Iraq now, ISIS is gone. Time to establish control over the entire country.
It's not correct, Alghuta near Damascus which is bigger than damascus, and Homs was under rebels control . The video doesn't show it at else. I think rebels hade much more area.
Let us first acknowledge the genius of the Syrian regime and its media, which we thought was backward and wooden, but it managed to convince the majority of Syrians and even Arabs, falsely and with contempt and terror, that the Assad regime is a clear enemy of Israel. If anyone dared years ago, and accused the regime of employment to Israel, to oppose even opponents of the system themselves, because the hostile media discourse of the regime did not allow anyone to simply question his position against what he called the "Zionist entity." In short, the regime was able to impose on all media terrorism to consider it a "fortress of steadfastness and confrontation," as he called himself. Fifty-year-old system and the sword of Israel's labor against his opponents. If he wanted to kill any Syrian citizen, he would immediately accuse him of working for Israel. In light of this, the Syrians thought that the regime was torturing Israel to death, and that the greatest sin Syria could commit was to employ Israel in the eyes of the regime. But half a century later, we discovered that the regime used the employment charge for Israel only to cover the same system of employment for Israel. But this does not negate the fact that he managed to pass on his false lies and slogans and Arab barbarism to millions of Arabs and Syrians. It is clear that the slogans raised by the regime were in a special arrangement with the Israelis and the Americans themselves. Americans are known to allow their clients to make the myths they prefer to govern their own people, even if these myths are anti-American in appearance, such as the myth of resistance, resistance and Arab nationalism and steadfastness and confrontation. A senior US official once asked him about the US position on Syria's anti-American media: "We do not care what the Assad regime is saying, and we are concerned about what it is doing to us. Something, we saw him calling us the next day to say to us: 'You have done it 100 percent, that is, he is always doing more than we ask him to do, so it is okay to attack us day and night, as long as he is one of our greatest agents.' And do not forget the CIA report in 2012 when it described the Assad regime as "our most active customers in the region." If we read the book "Years of Renewal" by former US Secretary of State Henry Kissinger, we would be very surprised by his constant praise of his friend Hafez al-Assad, who coordinated all his military operations in Lebanon for a quarter of a century with the Israelis. Kessinger notes that Hikmat al-Shihabi, the famous Hafez al-Assad man, once called the US command to offer Syrian troops entry into Lebanon. When he was told that Israel would not accept this, al-Shihabi replied: "We are peacekeepers, nothing more." Kissinger says that the beloved Chehabi was seeking to work in Israel's interests through US mediation. Between Israel and Syria, and every step advanced by the Syrian forces was with Israeli tolerance and blessing. The close associates of Hafez al-Assad mention that he was publicly hostile to the Americans, while everything was coordinated with them. "Give a signal that you're going to the left, but go to the right," he told his driver. Let us not forget that the first international official toppled Bashar al-Assad for hours before his inauguration as president of Syria after the death of Hafez al-Assad a few days was former Secretary of State Madeleine Albright. After the meeting, all the Arab and international media had blessed Bashar Assad as president of Syria. In the early days of the revolution, we heard what Bashar al-Assad's business manager Rami Makhlouf told the Washington Post when he said: "Israel's security of the security of the Syrian regime, and that any disrespect to Assad will negatively affect Israel." A while ago, we heard what the Iranian deputy foreign minister said literally when he said that Assad's fall would pose a great danger to Israel's security, as if he were begging the Israelis to keep a dog guarding them. "We must overcome the question of Assad's departure," he said. "He was never an enemy to us or to our ally Israel." Khawwash reluctance. Of course, some have been skeptical about Israel's support for the Assad regime until the past few months have proved completely that without the Israeli cover, Assad has not survived so far, and that the strategic asset of Zionism is not the poor Egyptian president Hosni Mubarak who fell in eighteen days, but the president who did the snakes in Syria and is still steadfast. since five years. It must be remembered that Russian President Putin did not enter Syrian territory and airspace until after meeting with Israeli Prime Minister Netanyahu, who gave him the green light to protect their loyal guard Bashar Assad. Now the Israelis and the Russians are coordinating their operations in Syria from Hameimim Airport, which is located near the hometown of Assad al-Qardhah. Finally, here is the Syrian artist Jamal Suleiman, who literally translates just days before Bashar himself that the latter told him at the beginning of the revolution that Israel would not accept, and would never allow the fall of the regime. But gave him the green light to confront all those who oppose him by all means. Finally, we know why Assad's obsession with the subject of employment for Israel: because he is the real customer, and because no one is allowed to compete for this great honor. (copied) They support the rebels in south Hims only. They don't support the main rebels in Idlib and Aleppo.
Zamalik is Eggs The Sunni Arabs in Syria are the biggest supporters of the rebel forces, and in recent years have developed increasingly hostile feelings towards the Shia Muslim Assad government. They have always been the majority in a country that is lead by the minority. Feelings toward Shia Muslims have become so negative that chants such as “Death to Shiites!” and “Christians to Lebanon, Shiites to death!” have become quite regular in the Sunni Arab sphere. And now you’re telling me that Rebels are way better.
There are no Shias in Syria. Most of them are Alawis not Shia and yes agree death to all Alawis. Shia are normal kind people but Alawis deserve being tortured to death. And lol yes of course saying such thing is normal when you are the majority in a country but you are bombed by your own government which is ruled by a dictatorship minority. But when did they such thing as "Christians to Lebanon"? Stop lying the Sunnis want to kill only the Alawis. It is a Sunni-Alawi war, Christians have nothing to do with the war. Christians are neutral. Also Assad is not Shiite Muslim, he is from the Alawis (who are considered non Muslims for both Sunni and Shiite scholars). I didn't say the rebels are better, unfortunately they are full of Jihadists. Raising weapon is a conspiring against the country. I'm against Assad but I think that rebels shouldn't have used weapons.

Sounds like an impressive individual. What does he stand for?
Uncle Ruckus Major-general Issam Zahereddine was the commander of SAA operations in Deir ez Zor city for nearly three years. Under his command the city endured three years of siege, defeated the ISIS scumbags and at one point even started to expand. Sadly he was killed two weeks ago by a mine. The worst part is that he went to Hell and back just to be killed by a mine. He was on the front with a rifle every day of the siege.

This must have taken you a good week to finish but very well done.
You forgot to mention Russia's involvement.
You should re-do this when the Syrian civil war finally ends.
Good news, the war is won, the only province were there are terrorists left who pose a threat is Idlib. The Assad goverment ended up victorious at last.

Very recent but they happened before 18th of October.
intervention? Nope. Right now, we (Republic of Turkey) just build a wall.
dark energy
Yes I am talking about Turkish intervention in Idleb/Aleppo.

Can't Mossad the Assad
Mossad = Assad best friends
egípcio de esquerda that’s why mossad supports anti-assad groups in Syria?
Idiot.
(copied)
They support the rebels in south Hims only.
