I love the dichotomy that Oda created between Kaido and Big Mom. The father figure ends up being much more relaxed and laid back with his crew with an accent on competition while the maternal persona of Big Mom is expressed through overbearing control and fear of repercussions. Not only is it challenging preconceived expectations, these aspects are also going to be key in the upcoming Onigashima War (like they were during Whole Cake Island where most of the fiasco could have been avoided if Big Mom's kids weren't so afraid of admitting fault because taking responsibility could mean having their lifespan taken away.)

I don't think Big Mom is overbearing, she just doesn't give a fuck about any of his children, they are tools to get what she wants and when she doesn't she either kills them or goes on rage tantrums. She's a child. They are only scared of her which is why Katakuri is so important for the Charlotte family

Also a nice small little thing. During the Sanji gag where he tries to get in the black Rhino, he tries to tell Ussopp to get out but immediately shuts up when Ussopp says "you think you can aim this thing better than me?"
It made me happy cause It shows how much faith Sanji (and the rest of the crew) has for Ussopp's sniping skill

I like the competitive dynamic of Kaido's crew. Iron sharpens iron.
Thing about sharpening, it makes a blade thinner, and easier to break.

Part of why Franky and Robin have this little sub-dynamic going on probably has to due with the time they spent together between Water 7 and Enies Lobby. Robin is definitely the kind of person who would appreciate that someone else can directly relate to the fairly unique experience of being taken to Enies Lobby, which I think probably played a role in the way they interact with one another in the present.

@Altair I personally don't like law or Zoro with Robin. Law and Robin because they are too "similar" looking and personality wise. I prefer couples where one is more outgoing and the other is laid back. It adds more balance imho. And it also slightly bothers me when characters get together and look too similar. To me they look like they could be related and that creeps me out a little. I always liked Franky and Robin though. Idk why, I could see it working though.

Kaidos crew kinda resembles WB to me bc WB had multiple division commanders I believe the Tobi roppo are seriously strong but I strongly believe they cannnot beat the all-stars, especially King. Let it be said here when it is proven
I don't see why luffy who was almost on par with katakuri and has gotten stronger wouldn't be able to do it and presumably kid is on a very similar level to luffy. And the scabards have shown multiple times to be on simular levels to the all stars so it's quite possible one of them would be on par.
I guess it's not impossible for king to be significantly stronger than katakuri but considering how behind the alliance is on battle power I doubt he will be until we see any proof otherwise

Wait, isn’t it more likely that luffy is going to end up with Hancock? Correct me if I’m wrong but wasn’t there a princess of equal beauty to Hancock that died before due to a sickness that was caused by her love not being fulfilled? Hancock was showing signs of this sickness once she fell head over heels for luffy. Also, I highly doubt that ALL of the build up between her and luffy was for nothing other than a friendship.

Warm up fight: Luffy vs. Queen. There’s a bunch of evidence to support this. Luffy is pissed off and right next to Queen. Luffy threw a punch at Queen and never got to finish his fight. Remember how odd it was the the Topi Ropo specifically asked who would replace Queen? Queen might be the equivalent of Blueno where we see Luffy practice his new moves while looking impressive. Add to this that Luffy likely resist Queens plague attacks

Guifire97 it’s hard to say whether those three are the strongest, I think the whole fan base agrees that page one has to be towards the bottom though lol, also drake is very interesting because he might not have shown his full strength to everyone yet in order to get the jump on everyone later, ulti and Black Maria are hard to scale because they could be fights with nami and robin which would mean they’re towards the bottom but they could also be set up for a 2 on 1 fight, sasaki and who’s who seem to be the real though, kaido agrees to chill and drink with sasaki and who’s who looks badass and is quiet compared to the rest

The Kanjuuro part is really weird in my opinion. The three ships that attacked the samurai in chap. 974 knew about a spy, but now Kanjuuro can't come in? not even a guardpost who knew about a spy
Yup it's just all too convenient. Also Orochi not telling him how to get to Onigashima? No smail but apparently he's convinced and complacent about everything even though he didn't kill Kinemon and team 20 years into the future. This is the same guy who had a gut feeling since he didn't see the samurai corpses he still was paranoid. Even this day that he's all over sudden become complacent isn't yet over and it's the day he's been worried over for twenty years. Shouldn't he wait until it's over? Also how and why was he expecting Kanjuro to deliver Momo if he comes Kanjuro doesn't know the place. Orochi just became dumbed down to allow the alliance to sneak in. If Kanjuro told Orochi they were coming, the alliance would be eating canons.

Well Luffy is definitely stronger than Yonko Commanders now. Especially if his Gear 4th doesn't have a time limit now since he went in & out of it easily.

For me i think Jack is on the chopping block for what happened at Zou and failling to free Joker from the marines, Queen messed up running the prison where luffy and Kid where, so either King let Yamato free so the set this challenge up to help his boys, or he did it to set the Hierarchy straight and teach a lesson to Who is Who and Sasaki who bought are gunning for him.
Either way Kaido gets to watch it happen as he values strength over anything at any point he doesnt seem whory or upset for Yamatos life wich either means his son is as strong as the commanders or he knows his son is ok and he just want to see what the top 6 can do against the calamities, cause it would be more efficient to send the ninja squad after yamato to keep it in the down low, but instead asking the topiroppo seams way overboard, unless you are doing it in purpose

The other thing for a pirate crew who values strenght as much as the beast pirates, Jacks performance has to a let down, and the last chapter ulti maid it clear they dont like Queen at all, i dont believe Oda set that up without a reason, especialy in this chapter where by giving us the schedule he prety much confirmed that nothing will go as planned.
At least IMO what do you think, lilin and kaido are forging and alliance and out of nowhere Yamato disapears and a challenge for callamities is set in place coicidence?
