Hard to describe as a layperson - but the flow of “the daylight recedes in unison, this room buries the hours like death in motion” across multiple sections of the song feels almost like he’s dragging himself through those long hours alone
The EP's are basically just Vessel. He wrote and preformed most of it himself. II comes in to his own starting on the First album Sundowning. He makes his presence known in the second song Hypnosis and shows the world that he is a force to be reconed with. III and IV were transient players in the beginning. Vessel did those instruments in the EP recordings and the current III and IV basically only played gigs. Now all 4 members are static members although so far the only ones that have written songs are attributed to Vessel and II. I expect their new album they are working on now since they have been signed by RCA Records will include III and IV in the creative process.
Loamy is a term that refers to fertile, moist soil. The way I interpret this song, is that this metaphorical field of elation is fertile, allowing for this sense of peace and happiness with this person he so loves to grow and flourish.
