Telomeres is just *chef’s kiss* such a beautiful song. Would have loved this at my wedding. I also love how scientific Vessel gets, like this and Aqua Regia, you can fall down a rabbit hole lol
to me this is a pure love song.total physical emotional and spiritual intimacy."eden" this is the pull.the eyes like fire that draw him in. the loss of which explains his pain and torture.
Ah I love Telomeres so much. Why in the world does he not do more guitar solos?! The Summoning is the only other one lol i dunno if its been mentioned before, but the sound effects at the end of each song this album is supposed to be sounds at different ocean depths. Getting deeper with each song.
I found these artists at the beginning of a crazy journey as well. They narrated it with their songs. So many instances like what you describe. That’s how know these are meant to be a psychopomp. These songs. Magic, psyche communication… idk what to call it. But we feel it. Those with ears to hear. To kill the god inside. So we can be reborn. Worship.
Subscribed! First time I'm actually watching your reaction but I absolutely relate with your interpretation! I must watch your other reactions now. Let's get you to 5k subs!
@@UncleTrebor a week ago when you replied to me, your comment seemed strange. Now, seven days after, I realized I was just looking for knowledge but in my search, faith found me and I was ready. Thank you
I feel like he uses science as metaphor pretty often. “As we go beyond the farthest reaches (out into the cosmos) where the light bends and wraps beneath us (what makes light bend? Gravitational lensing, typically caused by black holes) I know, as you collapse into me (and what are black holes? Stars that have collapsed in on themselves)”. Almost every song, he slips some science in there. And obviously, the title as well lol Edit: omg, I just realized this isn’t the first time he reference the death of a star! In blood sport, there’s the line “somewhere, the atoms stopped fusing”. When a star runs out of lighter elements to fuse, the atoms literally stop fusing and the star goes super nova, and particularly heavy stars collapse under their own weight and turn into black holes! Crazy haha
Your message and breakdown hit me HARD man... back in 2021, I was meditating every day, changing my routine, as they say change your routine, change your life. Somehow I got off track, and I am back to who I was before, and it reminds me (as corny as it sounds), but referencing 'Dark Signs' "And I hate who I have become, every time I wake up" It's like your thermostat in your house, your mind will always go back to the familiar set point. It's definitely a love/hate relationship with myself because when you said "I miss you" Man... I really miss that version of myself, and I am just trying to get back there. Thank you, my friend for another lovely reaction. Hope you had an amazing holiday 🖤
Bro that Dark Signs reference is spot on and def not corny... The whole song can speak to the dysfunctional relatioship we have with ourselves... Just relisten to it and internalize the whole thing. Your higher self talking to the self you have become. It'll be powerful. And let that fuel you to get back on track!!
Allow me to take this a little deeper… I believe the way to Godliness or being God-like is the death of our old self and the cocoonig into the new more powerful person we truly are.
7:40 hit hard bro, definitely needed to hear that, about the pattern of being too comfortable. Nice reaction man, super dope the things you pick up analyze. Makes me realize how deep the music really is and what you can take from it
This was one of my top songs of the year, and I can’t tell you what exactly draws me to it, but it makes me feel as though I’m drowning. Waves crashing around me, lungs and chest bursting with emotion I can’t really place. I had an experience as a child where I nearly drowned, and this song brought all of that back the first time I heard it. Oddly enough, it’s comforting. This song feels like surrendering to fate.
This is a very different interpretation from mine, but I 100% needed this video today. Tio, you spoke straight to my soul and I need to get my ass in gear and break out of this rut I'm in. Thank you ❤
I love that solo in this song. Now that I think about it that's probably the only guitar solo they have in this style in there whole discography. It's 🔥🔥
I’ve been watching your channel for a while for the ST content, but thanks for the reminder to subscribe! Cheering you on for 5k! I think you’ve hit the nail on the head with the psychological “higher self” standpoint. I believe this is why ST has been so impactful to people across genre scenes- their whole discography is speaking to the innate desire to be whole. Reading Carl Jung has been beneficial in understanding the journey that I think vessel is on and portraying individuation; becoming the whole self. Jung describes the journey as having to descend before ascending. My take is that Sleep is Vessel’s anima and he’s trying to confront and integrate the deepest parts of himself; whether how beautiful or disgusting those parts may be. Coming to terms with who he is and the trauma induced habits or characteristics will make you descend into dark places. But accepting that the traits you hate about yourself have developed out of love and protection will help you forgive, change, and ascend. It’s psychological alchemy-turning the undesirable into something priceless. There is a ton of evidence in their catalog supporting this theory, but the best part of ST is that their lyrics are completely versatile and you can find whatever meaning that is most impactful to you. I love hearing what their songs mean to others, as we are all on our own journeys. Thanks for the pep talks and deep hard truths. Can’t wait for more 🖤 WORSHIP
That is one of the greatest lessons I have learned in this journey is turning the mistakes and failures into the lessons and growth. The Alchemist book really comes to mind. Aqua Regia comes to mind. It has to be at the molecular level to last!!
you know, when i first started listening to your channel, I thought I came here for the music, not the lecture....but honestly, i appreciate the commentary of what you are saying and how it makes me look in myself as well, and how you gravitate to music that helps you grow and recognize things in your self. Thank you.
Glad you stuck with us! This really gives me confidence we are on the right track. The best thing I can do in life is help us look inwardly to be better people. Thanks for that confirmation
This is my absolute favorite ST song IMO This song goes from sex to falling in love to narcissism to being alone " As you breathe me out, I drink you in" "And we go beyond the farthest reaches, where the light bends and wraps beneath us (the extacy part). And I know as you collapse into me this is the start of something"( the falling in love part) Rivers and oceans are a metaphor for uh well bodily fluids Her eyes and limbs being used as instruments to pick apart the distance within refers to her looking for flaws, weaknesses and inconsistencies and pointing them out( the narcissist part). Shes gone and yet he waits and hopes In Take Me Back To Eden Vessel says "I will travel far beyond the path of reason" In this song he says "we" theres a difference between him and them I still dont understand why everyone thinks these songs are written about sleep. They are not, they are offerings to sleep. There is a real woman behind all of their songs IYKYK❤
Exactly! All are tokens to Him, Sleep. The songs are about his struggles in his relationship with the women he loved so much but they could not grow past the hurt and pain they caused each other.
Disagree on most of this. "As you breathe me out, I drink you in" She is letting him go after a brief intake and begins drinking her in, as in consuming for keeps. "And we go beyond the farthest reaches, where the light bends and wraps beneath us" is expanded upon with "through death, my arms are open." Light is the fastest thing in the universe. It's the upper limit. And it's bending and wrapping beneath them. In his eyes, together, they are above the concept of the nature of light itself. It will fold into itself before it can ever hope to reach them. Rivers and oceans, I think are just representative of the flow of time in relationships. Her eyes, looking into his, and her arms, embracing him, can pick apart the distance within the both of them. He's telling her he needs her to bridge the gap. The ball is in her court. I know of the real woman you're referring to but I don't know if they were in a relationship so I won't assume anything regarding that.
@@UncleTrebor I also wanted to comment on the name of the song and what it represents here. In Bloodsport vessel says somewhere the atoms stopped fusing. Well atoms are cells and cells are DNA. The telomere caps the end of the DNA strand and eventually it divides too many times and dies. This song is named telomeres because it's the birth and death of the relationship that's why he's says through death my arms are open
All I know is that this song is about aging in some way, cause that's what telomeres are about, when you get old, your chromosomes loses a bit of the telomeres or something along this line
The albums all have elemental themes. Tomb is water, Sundowning is air and Eden is earth. The next album will likely be fire if they continue to follow the pattern
Beautiful. I feel like I'm flying when i hear this. It's ethereal
This one was def a dofferent vibe! Loved it!
This song doesn’t get the recognition it so greatly deserves. It’s such a beautiful song and one of the reasons this whole album is simply incredible.

What I love is the aggression of the Drums II has at 17:12. It's like a dramatic end to drowning.
