You could go the DMV and have them run the bus's plate number. Then they could track down the owners and you could probably get the bus for cheap or free off them. Then you could either restore it yourself or sell it to someone who want to. Would be a nice profit, buses like that are pretty rare these days and that one is in good shape, especially the interior.
Love your 1957 western flyer bus videos. I own a 1957 myself and drive it often around the US. I only know of these two and mine is # 38 and we named it the FREAKWENT FLYER.
amazingly intact inside! coffee mugs, and the like, and looks as though nobody " trashed" it either ppl are very respectful, or it indeed is very well hidden
You have awesome videos . Adventuring in the forest is a favorite thing to do and looks like the woods by you are filled with lots of historic adventure
Western flyer is now new flyer I believe. They are made here in Manitoba.. There is nothing like a old bus updated with a modern power/drive train and remodelled inside. Best of both worlds. That bus is a diamond in the rough.
If you pause at the info plate on the front of the bus, seems the bus was a T-40. these were built between 1949 to 1955. I had originally guessed between 48 to 53. the T-40 was meant for long distance runs and C-40 as a city transit bus. Seems the date code on this one was 11-07-55 and was ordered by the RCAF. Pretty cool. It actually seems to be in very good shape on the inside. Not sure how the chassis looks sitting on the dirt all this time but, they were built well. Unless the motor went on this thing, I bet with some new fuel and a battery, that thing would at least turn over.
It was originally built for the Royal Canadian Air Force. I doubt it seen much love except basic upkeep so it would move. Maybe afterwards after it was acquired by regular people.
That bus was really cool. Loved the brake lights...get a closeup sometime of them. 🤩I believe that the bus was made in the 40s or early 50s. 🧐 I wonder if the engine was diesel or not. It should be salvaged! 🤩
Amazing find. I would have contacted the DMV to find out if the original owner was still around, if not.. that'd be a good vehicle to restore as RV's are expensive as ever.
Thanks very much for the return trip! I got the impression the bus-to-RV renovation was a do-it-yourself job. What a strange arrangement that the toilet space has one of those shower heads you can hold and move around Was that wallpaper or linoleum up the sides?. Was there any evidence that a door had been there? All those bunks yet apparently almost no privacy for bathing or bodily functions.---That chimney was a real find. I wonder what the site looks like from above, if there's any outline of the house. It's really something how there's no evidence left of the house. I can't wait to see what turns up if you go there with a metal detector.
this strange feeling came over me watching this vid. by the looks of it, it was not cleaned out at all. the broom, vacuum were still there, the frames, I mean, they had to take what they could and leave. and not come back for the rest!. like stepping into a time machine in a sense I guess. Tha was cool
I agree with you, but not everybody has that kind of money and I don't plan on remortgaging my home to get it. Although my house would net about $70,000...
I know . Would love that sortta money too but not many have it these days , as would buy the land around it too . Restore it on site an drive off into the sunset .
If you want it do some research into the land. Who owns it? Will New Brunswick DMV give you an owner history from the VIN? The land ownership will lead you to the bus owner maybe who for 100 or so will get you the title or a bill of sale. Get it running and then sell it to finance your newer RV. Or keep it as a long term project your choice. The possibilities are endless.
You respect what you find when you first found that the door was closed you need to make sure that the door is completely closed when you leave so nobody vandalizes if that's why it's been in such good condition all these years the first rule of looking at abandoned stuff is the respect of it
+jamie delahunt Its not worth starting without a title in your hand. I have viewed the engine and have taken a picture awhile back. It's posted on my Facebook page. It's complete and looks good and would most likely start after a basic run through but there is just no point to dump money into something you can never legally own.
I am happy to see this video as I found a nice western flyer bus to camper conversion that is a factory 4x4. I can't wait to get it home to start playing with it. Where can I get more information on a 4x4 28 passenger 1957? I have not had any luck with using google.
Did you google the names on the door of the last video? My guess is that would be the owners. Thanks for the fun video.... And Yes. I would love to have a bus too. Unfortunately, I drive school bus... Ha... too many children... :-)
+Ralph Duddles Newer buses are actually pretty cheap these days. At the government auction you can pick one up for around 600 dollars. A lot of people buy them and then flip them for around 5 grand which is an amazing profit. But there is just something about the 50's style that pulls you in. I think it would make a great RV with a bit of an upgrade.
The bus is most likely powered by a 671 Detroit Diesel engine (which i would keep in the bus since I love the sound of 2-stroke Detroit Diesel engines) or Buick Straight 8 gas engine.
+Liam Brom Unfortunately it's actually a gas job. I had hoped it was a Detroit to, I grew up around big rigs all my life and can't get enough of that fresh burnt diesel smell in the morning lol. If I were able to to get this bus I would upgrade it to a 6.7 Cummins which would still be a huge boost from what it currently has. Keep in mind this bus was designed to run the prairies and it's all flat ground so it didn't need much of a kick, In my area you are constantly climbing and descending hills.
Remember save what you can. If you don’t get it and preserve it from one may get it. And destroy it and if the owner comes back. Don’t know where to find her stuff maybe leave a note. With that email or something so if the owner ever does come back. They know where to find their stuff
+Antoine Van Cleemput I appreciate the info but we have already established this. Also I know what RCAF means, I am Canadian lol I just didn't read the plate as I was videoing that's why I said pause to read. Thanks for stopping by.
This may sound bad I guess, but what stops someone from taking that if they wanted it? Can it be relicensed again I wonder? Prob to far gone anyway...great vid
+Chuck Polhamus Anybody could take it really but getting it registered would be a chore. The plates are dated in the 1980's if I remember correctly so it would still be in the system under the owners name. Trust me, If I could I would take this bus in a heart beat. I've been thinking for a few years now about buying a school bus and turning it into an RV but this bus would be the icing on the cake. The 50's styling is just badass. You could easily update the engine with a Cummins out of a 3500 dodge ram or something, Rear end out of a modern bus for highway speeds. I'm betting it currently has a Detroit diesel but I haven't looked to be sure. I can dream... lol
+The440plymouth I'm not sure how whatever state you may live in handles abandoned vehicles but you should call your dmv to see if they could run the vin # and see about their proceedure for claiming abandoned vehicles. Love your work :)
Thanks for going back. Was there a floor pan to catch the shower water? It looked like a person could sit on the toilet and take a shower at the same time.Lol
+jim ogle Funny enough most RV Bathrooms are built like that. I've actually been eyeing RV's for sale and thinking about buying one and a lot of them are exactly like that. I guess it's just a way to make good use of space.
Have you check the engine of the bus in the back of it or inside like the drawers you know the inside the bus or outside of the door like the left or the right what's inside of the outside of the bus so maybe in the future if you're going back there again and I hope if this bus is still there today I really like the videos that you took showing the chili and Auto Parts abandoned forgotten for the American past but however it's like someone has lived outside of the grid like there's no technology only just you have to grow your own food and water or anything like that that was in the past right there like someone has abandoned and forgotten
it makes sens now that shed is for that fire place i saw wood inside the people who lived were the fire place would be and a house over top then would that make sens
Is there anyway to get a large tow truck down to that bus...I'd like to research the owner and buy it to restore it...that bus would be amazing restored...
+Lanceatron1000 Its amazing what windows and doors can do right? Most times the windows are broken out of vehicles like this and the elements get inside but this bus has been a lucky survivor.
From your post it seems that you contacted the owners and they gave you the buses background. Can share their story? Why was the bus abandoned? Thanks for a great vid.
I was told it came to be to expensive to repair and insure for the road. It was later sold off to a gentlemen who turned it into a woods camp. That gentlemen has since passed away and his family has no interest in it at all which is why its rotting away.
Why didn't you look at what the eight track tapes were? You opened a cabinet and there were coffee mugs and other stuff that you didn't look at either. What the heck man!
History is amazing. I saw the names on the bus's door from your video before, I looked up the family....amazing and interesting. I think diving in a little deeper and exploring a bit further would be awesome. I really do appreciate the video though! :)
How did the bus get down there there must be a path you can clear if you wanted to get it out of there, I would imagine it would run, however it would take a little time, and a little know how mechanically. Honestly it doesn't look like it's in that bad of shape, I'm sure it would cost quite a fortune to have it perfectly restored, but for someone that just wants a cool old bus, it seems to be in decent shape. Have you even check to see how hard it would be for you to possibly acquire it legally? If you could get it legally halfway easy, I would find someone that you had to get that thing started I'm sure it would take a few days. And figure out a path and drive it the heck out of there. Trust me it'll start, it had to start to get there.
Get someone to get that bus running and save that bus from its location and I wish to see it restored and used again because that bus is too good just to let it go like that.
LMWAO, I understand completely, that's my current problem also. I'd like to get a school bus and fix it up like a tiny house, lol. When you went through that old bus I was saying, look in every cabinet and corner. No tellin what you can find in there.
Find out If that bus is abandoned, and if it is there is a possibility the town or city would say you move it out of there and you can have it. It's not worth dick to them and they sure as shit don't want to spend the money just to get it to a scrap yard. Plus i want to know the story of the ole turd. Cockass balls pussy pussy! I apologize i have Tourette Syndrome. Shit
No specific location just in the woods. I was hiking along and found it. I spoke with Barbara Meed briefly and she gave me a full background on it and she said her and her family really liked the videos.
Is the bus open for sale or reclaim? Buses like that are pretty rare and sought after today, and that one looks to be in good shape. Even if you don't restore it yourself, you could wind up with a decent amount of money for selling it to someone who could restore it.
+JOSE ALFREDO It would be a time and a half to track down the owners. I'm assuming where it was an RV that the owners most likely live down state somewhere. They always come up here and build little camps and what not for hunting season and then abandon them after only 3 or 4 uses.
Try and turn on the bus with his nephew put fuel in the car and try and bribe the car the bus because I want to see how it’s now and you might be able to get home will not be too rusty to work
+The440plymouth omg omg look up Jim Clarke he's a ice hockey player born August 11, 1954 and was a ice hockey player from Canada and the bus says Canada what if it's his bus well don't look it up here's the info I found Jim Clarke (born August 11, 1954) is a Canadian former professional ice hockey defenceman. Clarke played the 1975-76 season with the Phoenix Roadrunners of the World Hockey Association (WHA).
+Dimitris Theodopoulos American tourists most likely. They probably came once or twice and then got bored of it and never came again. Most weekend Rv'ers end up like that.
The440plymouth my point is why some people left their cars behind?. I mean ok some people left them behind in case they will come back some day to camb, but these vehicles are kind of expensive you can't just left them back like you don't even care. and yes if you have some exploring videos with abandoned vehicle stories i would like to see them.
+zebedee leighs Canadian. But I live in the far east in Atlantic Canada and we have an accent all on our own lol It's basically an Irish, Scottish, English, French accent all mashed into one...
Are you going to sponsor the project? I'll need $50,000 up front to town it out and Another $100,000 to rebuild it. I'll be waiting on the cheque so I ca start as soon as possible.
One more thing this bus is not a Canadian this bus is a US bus manufacturer on GM GMC so this is the truth I'm telling you or not I hope that if you're going to the same spot again in the near future but it does but it's not there someone took it or missing some parts who knows
Thanks for the tour, sad to see it just rot away

Those old doors are tricky if you aren't used to them great video. Old memories of somebody's life some family camped in that old bus
amazingly intact inside! coffee mugs, and the like, and looks as though nobody " trashed" it either ppl are very respectful, or it indeed is very well hidden
You have awesome videos . Adventuring in the forest is a favorite thing to do and looks like the woods by you are filled with lots of historic adventure
these busses are sought after. thanks for the look-see! can't save everything, but i hope someone will save this one! :)
Mat get that thing running and get it as your own!
Western flyer is now new flyer I believe. They are made here in Manitoba.. There is nothing like a old bus updated with a modern power/drive train and remodelled inside. Best of both worlds. That bus is a diamond in the rough.
I'd keep either trasitional or least pre-computer, i.e., pre-1980s Allison, if it's all the ame with you.
That chimney in the video? Folks used to hide their valuables in chimneys in removal plates and bricks . Revisit and check it out thoroughly.... okay
Go back see if the bus is still there or been vandalised, been two years +now
If you pull back on the handle above the shifter the door will open. I worked on these type buses back in the 70's.
It would be cool to see it start up;)
Thanks for doing the inside tour. That bus/rv looks like it isn’t beyond restoration. What a waste to be just rotting away out in the woods. 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻🇨🇦
If you pause at the info plate on the front of the bus, seems the bus was a T-40. these were built between 1949 to 1955. WOW that's gorgeous. How great would it be if you could get it up & running / restored? I'd love that. Great video 📹, amazing find. 👍👍👍
imagine how excited the people were when this was brand new and wheeled out for first time would they have ever imagined its "end" being this one
It was originally built for the Royal Canadian Air Force. I doubt it seen much love except basic upkeep so it would move. Maybe afterwards after it was acquired by regular people.
Awesome. Wish it could be restored
That bus was really cool. Loved the brake lights...get a closeup sometime of them. 🤩I believe that the bus was made in the 40s or early 50s. 🧐 I wonder if the engine was diesel or not. It should be salvaged! 🤩
Would love to own that bus
Amazing find. I would have contacted the DMV to find out if the original owner was still around, if not.. that'd be a good vehicle to restore as RV's are expensive as ever.
Thank for going back once again. But i wish i could have seen the engine.
That bus needs to be rescued
With the bus and the old chimney, that could of been one of willie nelsons stash houses!
Thanks very much for the return trip! I got the impression the bus-to-RV renovation was a do-it-yourself job. Since no one owns it,you should
Keep all the dishes and keep the bus and 're model it to a better rv
To difficult to register.
Wow that was cool
Have ever been tempted to take a few of these old vehichles you come across ;)
Depends if its crown land or private land. Crown land is fair game but I need permission when to comes to private land.
Definitely yes, thanks for the interesting uploads great vids :)
that lever in the front is what opens the door that's why you couldn't open it
this strange feeling came over me watching this vid. by the looks of it, it was not cleaned out at all. the broom, vacuum were still there, the frames, I mean, they had to take what they could and leave. and not come back for the rest!. like stepping into a time machine in a sense I guess. Thanks for the inside tour . The guages on the bus dash look early 50s . I would buy the land it sits on if its cheaper then towing it .
+Abandoned NorthJersey If I had the papers I would attempt to start it where it sits. I'm sure it would crank over the engines complete.
Despite how much it would cost it would be worth restorin .
I agree with you, but not everybody has that kind of money and I don't plan on remortgaging my home to get it. Although my house would net about $70,000...

Eastern Explorer i would restore it
The speedometer is the same as International trucks used in the late 40s.
I would love to take a trip in one of these
Awesome find bro. ATB from New Zealand

I wanna buy that little tract of land where its sitting

I just needs paint and a little machanics touch and she be working again
This thing looks awesome. Dude, would you please get this thing running?
Can you try and start it up. It might have a nice sound. And can you look at the engine???
+jamie delahunt Its not worth starting without a title in your hand. I have viewed the engine and have taken a picture awhile back. It's posted on my Facebook page. You just inspired me to make a abandoned exploration chanell
I can't wait to check it out! Send me the details once you get going and I'll add it to my suggested channels list :)
You should see what engine it has in it and if it will turn. If it goes claim it as yours and restore it.
I would camp out in it.
Remember save what you can. If you don’t get it and preserve it from one may get it. And destroy it and if the owner comes back. Don’t know where to find her stuff maybe leave a note. With that email or something so if the owner ever does come back. They know where to find their stuff
the plate says it was delivered new to the RCAF (royal Canadian air force)
+Antoine Van Cleemput I appreciate the info but we have already established this. Also I know what RCAF means, I am Canadian lol I just didn't read the plate as I was videoing that's why I said pause to read. Thanks for stopping by.

This used to be a school bus but then people rebuild this bus to an rv!!!
Close. It was a RCAF bus, special order.
Thanks for going back. Was there a floor pan to catch the shower water? It looked like a person could sit on the toilet and take a shower at the same time.Lol

As far as I know. Haven't been there in 2 years now.
Eastern Explorer
It's best to be caution around old home places, they may be an open well. 4/14/2018
Thank you. I have ran into a few wells in my time. I have made it a process to locate wells before anything eles is done now.
it makes sens now that shed is for that fire place i saw wood inside the people who lived were the fire place would be and a house over top then would that make sens

Not for sale
Pls try to get somehow intuch with person how ones that bus
What state is this in?
Somebody put a lot of work into that coach, sad they had to leave it to rot like that.
Wow perhaps the owners past away and there bus became abandoned.
when u gonna post a new video
so the outside looks like crap but the inside looks fine (kinda)?
+Lanceatron1000 Its amazing what windows and doors can do right? Most times the windows are broken out of vehicles like this and the elements get inside but this bus has been a lucky survivor.
I would.take the 🚌
From your post it seems that you contacted the owners and they gave you the buses background.
Eastern Explorer Wow, that's kind of sad actually
I think this was very recently lived in
i think you just found NukeTown from black ops
Yes, sir. I hate it when I go searching for Atlantis and stumble on NukeTown, happens every time.
Why didn't you look at what the eight track tapes were? You opened a cabinet and there were coffee mugs and other stuff that you didn't look at either. What the heck man!
My main concern was the vehicle itself and how rare that type of bus is. I didn't care about the camper conversion.
History is amazing. I saw the names on the bus's door from your video before, I looked up the family....amazing and interesting. I think diving in a little deeper and exploring a bit further would be awesome. I really do appreciate the video though! :)
What ever happened to this bus?
try to start engine and drive in just some meters
Try start it and drive it
To much work. Plus you need leaded gasoline.
How did the bus get down there there must be a path you can clear if you wanted to get it out of there, I would imagine it would run, however it would take a little time, and a little know how mechanically. Get someone to get that bus running and save that bus from its location and I wish to see it restored and used again because that bus is too good just to let it go like that.
Someone else opened that door xxD
I was wondering if you got that bus out and did anything with it.
No sir. I don't have the means to do so. Maybe when I win the lottery though.
LMWAO, I understand completely, that's my current problem also. I'd like to get a school bus and fix it up like a tiny house, lol. When you went through that old bus I was saying, look in every cabinet and corner. No tellin what you can find in there.
That what I was thinking as well. Convert a bus over and live in it permanently. it would be the nicest house on the mountain haha
Find out If that bus is abandoned, and if it is there is a possibility the town or city would say you move it out of there and you can have it. It's not worth dick to them and they sure as shit don't want to spend the money just to get it to a scrap yard. Plus i want to know the story of the ole turd. Cockass balls pussy pussy! what accent is that?
Eastern Canada
where is this bus located!!??
+Nathan Otero New Brunswick, Canada.
Obvious location of an alien abduction.
+Bill23799 I could of swore it was a bigfoot house, sometimes I'm wrong lol
Try get it to start
Where was this found?
No specific location just in the woods. I was hiking along and found it. I spoke with Barbara Meed briefly and she gave me a full background on it and she said her and her family really liked the videos.

U Step in2 a Nest of Young Rattlers, w/the Mother a Rnd ? & u Ain't Gonna Walk outta there !
No rattle snakes around here. The cold would kill them.
That looks like an old tour bus
hey can you get the bus? or can someone sell it?

Wow
Rcaf bus
BE NICE THERE MR. BEN...IF YOU CANT SAY ANYTHING NICE, KEEP YOUR MOUTH SHUT.....
Try and turn on the bus with his nephew put fuel in the car and try and bribe the car the bus because I want to see how it’s now and you might be able to get home will not be too rusty to work
You may find the keys to the bus in the house vaccinate.

+HyperSpeedMusic X I applaud your research! It's great when folks get involved and learn new things! You just never know where a hint might lead.

Cool video by the way.
#want it
+Kyndra Pollack Oh so badly... I would love to have this bus or one like it. Thanks for watching!
who actually abandons vehicles like this in places like that?
+Dimitris Theodopoulos American tourists most likely. They probably came once or twice and then got bored of it and never came again. Most weekend Rv'ers end up like that.
The440plymouth
and they abandon their cars too?
+Dimitris Theodopoulos Are you referring to another video? I have a few videos of cars and each have a different story behind them.
What is that accent ?
+zebedee leighs Canadian. But I live in the far east in Atlantic Canada and we have an accent all on our own lol It's basically an Irish, Scottish, English, French accent all mashed into one...
get bus
Are you going to sponsor the project? I'll need $50,000 up front to town it out and Another $100,000 to rebuild it. I'll be waiting on the cheque so I ca start as soon as possible.
Yes, must have bus. fire good:)
One more thing this bus is not a Canadian this bus is a US bus manufacturer on GM GMC so this is the truth I'm telling you or not I hope that if you're going to the same spot again in the near future but it does but it's not there someone took it or missing some parts who knows
This bus is Canadian and was built by Western Flyer for the RCAF.
Imagine how much weed was smoked in there
