Nothing more frustrating than walking with someone through a swap meet that is not interested in anything your wanting to see. But cool you did it. Thanks
I went there way back in 1990 while living in Plano and restoring an old 67 Chevelle. Found nearly perfect buckets (from a 66 GTO) for $40/pair... 67 rallye caps with disc brake centers NOS in GM box, 4/$100 whoo Hooo I bet you can't find stuff like that anymore. Needed a 12 bolt posi, impossible to find back then for some reason. I was surprised that you had to pay to get in (being from Ohio), but now every swap meet charges admission.... oh well. I'd love to go there again but it's too far away now. Thanks for posting, looks like a fun time.
I haven't been to Pate since they moved it to the race track. Went many years to the original location, down 377 toward Granbury. That one was usually 6500+ spaces, and this one looks even bigger. Maybe next year....
The layout wasn't very good in my opinion this year. But it was either this or nothing. Next year it will be on the west side parking lot. You should try and make it.
Hey Man , I thought you said you didn't drink ! I think you were having a little trouble getting your words out ! Looked like a lot of stuff for sale . Thank you for taking us along !! Be safe and God bless you and your family !!!!! Eddy
I was about to go to bed then this popped up. Guess I’ll make me a cup of coffee. Thanks Benny. You gonna hit New Braunfels Swap Meet? I think it’s next week.
Jeez, I wanted to go to this swap meet, but thought I'd play it safe and stay home seeing that I hadn't received my 2nd Moderna shot at the time (did go to the Jefferson, WI swap meet at the same time as Pate, but continued to wear a mask for that event). Anyway, thanks for sharing this once again!
Man I am going to have to drive you way what great swap meets I told you before I see why you left Florida I live in vero beach and just have the Turkey run
Thanks for the walk around. I would be broke if I went to this swap. Most of that stuff is hard to get in Australia and if you can find it they want the world for it. 🇦🇺🇦🇺
That 60 Impala Convert had an interior fire at some point. They will restore that, I sold a 59 convertible in 2007 that was so bad that when it wouldn't fit the guy's trailer we just cut the back off behind the wheels, what was left of it. $1500 I think and it went from NY to California.
Yea I figure guys out there will tackle that impala. Some people just want a certain type of video I guess. Maybe they are accustomed to the way others record.
Right, if you don't like this video go try making your own. it's not as easy as it looks, I think I'm holding the camera steady and it's all over the place.
So the weather didn’t dampen the fun? At least when it rains at TMS it is nothing like it was when it rained out on 377. But I tell you what. You could get some hella deals out there when it rained. I was gonna go. I got a cherry 58’ Ford i need to sell. I am selling out. Is it not crazy what Tonka toys sell for?? Holy shit. My mom sold all mine in a garage sell. Now there F’N $50.00 Glad your Chanel is growing.
I didn't get to experience pate back then. I think the first time I went to pate was in 08. The weather really wasn't a factor. Vendors left on Friday more because I guess they figure the Saturday crowd is just window shopping
Thursday felt like a normal Saturday at Pate to me. Didn’t go Friday. I heard they canceled the vaccine place. Was going to go back Saturday with my husband, but access to the area was SLAMMED!!! Looked horrific. We just stopped at Buc-ee’s (didn’t know it could get even worse!) and then went right back home.
This was Thurs. I went out there Wednesday-Sat. The reason the lines were so long on Sat was because there was a truck show going on inside the track. I got there just as the lines were getting bad. So I went to the next exit and went through the back side of the track. No traffic through there
Yea, that's like AMD parts are made in Mexico. You wouldn't think but I talked to one of there salesmen and that is what he told me. It's hard to get American made products. And if you do the price is really high. Go figure. Yea, they had a V8 in a 70 Maverick. It was a 302. A pig in a poke is like a grab bag You didn't know what you were getting. And the poke is a brown paper bag. That is what the older country people called a bag. Ronnie.
yep yep people get pissed and thumbs down every video II do no matter what it is, they must live a miserable life. vug'em mang and keep doing what you do :)
i sell at the swap meet you can put the best price in the world on something and people still want to haggle you have to start out high and work down !
“I know what I have!” I think the experience of being there is worth more for them than selling the actual vehicle. It’s all about hanging out with other sellers, bonding, camping, etc. Its also a great way to network. I went to buy a very specific car. Found something close but was out of my budget. Seller suspiciously had EXACTLY what I wanted back home for the right amount of money. When I went to his house the following weekend to pick it up, I saw the car he took to Pate. He apparently did not sell it. But for all I know, like with me, he might’ve sold many more. I didn’t even make it a block from my house with the car when some stranger in another vehicle told me he was looking for a car just like mine. Traffic light was going to change, so I just gave him the sellers business card.
Very miserable, good wind but continuous blowing of sand, everybody now very weak, thought Sam & Moore were all gone. LaMotte eyes are gone, everyone else's eyes are bad. Still going @t signs of anything, a couple of birds; good wind from N. Really weak now, can't walk, pains all over, still all want to die. Nites very cold, no sleep. Eyes bad, lost all our wgt. aching all over, could make it if we had water; just enough left to put our tongue to, have hope for help very soon, no rest, still same place. 5th day out & we all thought we're gone. All wanted to die during noon it was so hot. Morn & nite okay. 2 drops of water!
Only did 5 hours there. The terrain was terrible. Pavement was better, but everywhere else, steep hills, gravel... ...and the gravel was honestly just chewed up asphalt remnants. Walking on chunks bigger than your fist is what did me in. 5 hours, and I hurt for 3 days. Hope next year will be back on the western side.
Pig in a poke? I don't know what that thing is but I know you don't buy a pig in a poke. You will be disappointed when you get home and let the cat out of the bag. Great video but if I went to a swap meet with a buzz I would spend too much money on things I really don't need..
I have a couple of thoes chairs there worth money..some of them that are made over sea's I'm an antique junkie.. especially old chairs like that one of my hobbies..you ever find any I'll buy them off you cash on barrel head...
Nothing more frustrating than walking with someone through a swap meet that is not interested in anything your wanting to see. But cool you did it. Thanks

Beers ,Tacos and Swap Meets! God Bless America! I love it! Great vid.

@@ClassicRideSociety agreed. Was much better on the western side, but the vaccines got that spot this year.
That green 56 ford big window has been at pate for at least the past 30 years, was a lady that drove it
Benny, your doing a fantastic job with the camera. very professional
Hey Man , I thought you said you didn't drink ! I think you were having a little trouble getting your words out ! Looked like a lot of stuff for sale . Thank you for taking us along !! Be safe and God bless you and your family !!!!! Eddy
I guess what I meant when I said I don't drink is that I rarely drink. I couldn't remember the last time I had a 🍺 before that.
Loving this from South Africa!
You shoulda said 2 Rawlings "Get you some of that"! LOL!
😄 👍
Hi Benny, thanks again for another great swap meet video. I'm enjoying it !
Thank brother, 👌😎👍 great vid .I would like to check this place for sure.
I was about to go to bed then this popped up. Guess I’ll make me a cup
of coffee. Thanks Benny. You gonna hit New Braunfels Swap Meet? I think it’s next week.
It can’t come soon enough!
Yea i should be there
My girlfriend at the time had a 1970 grabber with a six automatic.
They were giving vaccines on the other side of the race track. That's the reason PATE was not at its usual location.
@@ClassicRideSociety I was wondering why the meet the meet seemed to be in a different location by the raceway. That sets the record straight. Thanks!

Thanks Benny 👍🏻👍🏻🤘🏻🤘🏻🍻
Man I am going to have to drive you way what great swap meets I told you before I see why you left Florida I live in vero beach and just have the Turkey run
Have you heard of the Sumter swap meet? I used to go to it when I lived in Tampa.
Where is that one
I just looked it up it's about 2 hours from me I will check it out
Thanks for the walk around. I would be broke if I went to this swap. Most of that stuff is hard to get in Australia and if you can find it they want the world for it. 🇦🇺🇦🇺
Love a good swap meet!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
39:02 The 59 Ford PU looks like the best buy at $5900.
I kinda liked the maverick
Yeah 18K for that Plymouth.....damn! I know folks gotta have some wiggle room for negotiations, but some people must be dreaming

antenna rotar for home we had one in late 1960's
@10:41 how did u miss the 427 SOHC ford engine and all the high end ford parts. i was at that meet and it was one of the better tables there ?????????
That's completely my bad.
So the weather didn’t dampen the fun?

What day was this? Thursday? That was the day I went. I tried to go Saturday too, but the entrance was slammed! We gave up and turned back home.

Appreciate the info on 🐖 in a poke. don't get me started on aftermarket sheet metal. I've had some bad experiences
I think your doin a great job. If they don’t like tell em to pound salt .
Rather watch Classic Ride Society instead of Gas Monkey Garage ! lol
I unsubscribed to gas monkey garage only last episode as it's only about Richard now lol
I’d rather watch the Flinstones.
Benny's way more interesting 😎👍
@@darylkeenan943 I haven't watched any of their UA-cam stuff. Looks like he is doin podcast type video now as well?
Quit watching anything with Narcissistic Richard Rawlings in it!
LOOKING AT MOST OF THAT STUFF HERE ??? WAS TOTAL SCRAP THAT SHOULD OF BEEN SENT TO THE SCRAP YARD>>>>>>
Correction on the 56 ford truck, should be the past 50 years or more, I started going in the early 70 s and it was there.
If you go to the Lawrence swap are you going to do a video?
I think I'm gonna skip Lawrence and try to make Hutchinson
I’d take the blue GTO but I probably wouldn’t want to give up my first horn to buy it.
yes i seen him " wow "
Drinking on the job I see haha 😂
When messing with those 56 Buicks, just remember century and roadmaster those are the ones you want!!😀👍

Can't please them all
I was there with go power sports
I think I went into that booth. Was that where "carts and cameras" was at? I talked to them for a little bit
@@ClassicRideSociety yea that was cool are booth was right next to theres my dad was trying to by the cozy coop from cars and cameras
5x4.5 you would have to turn into a ford guy
Why do them pepole drag all that out there and then put prices on it that nobody is willing to pay for it 😳
They start out high and lower prices as the meet ends
i sell at the swap meet you can put the best price in the world on something and people still want to haggle you have to start out high and work down !
some of the prices, the owners are out of there minds

Buy that Grabber Orange Maverick and put the 9" rear from your Versailles in it.
