Bette Davis - Final Appearance (22nd September 1989, Age 81)

Ruth Elizabeth "Bette" Davis (April 5, 1908 - October 6, 1989) was an American actress. With a career spanning more than 50 years and 100 acting credits, she is regarded as one of the greatest actresses in film history. She collapsed during the American Cinema Awards on 22nd September 1989, and later discovered that her cancer had returned. She recovered sufficiently to travel to Spain, where she was honored at the Donostia-San Sebastián International Film Festival, but during her visit, her health rapidly deteriorated. Too weak to make the long journey back to the U.S., she traveled to France, where she died on October 6, 1989, at 11:35 PM, at the American Hospital in Neuilly-sur-Seine. Davis was 81 years old. She was entombed in Forest Lawn-Hollywood Hills Cemetery in Los Angeles, alongside her mother Ruthie and sister Bobby, with her name in larger type size. This was in Spain. She was too ill to fly back to the USA, so they flew her to Paris, It was there that she passed away.

In 1989 she was gravely ill, but she insisted to travel to Spain to attent to an hommage to her career. Unfortunately her condition worsened and died in Paris.

She was so sick, poor thing was so dedicated to her fan’s. She took a turn for the worse while in Paris and ended up in an American hospital right outside the city. She never made it back to Los Angeles alive.
