Fun fact: Toyota used to not charge for services like live traffic updates, navigation and weather. My 2017 4Runner still has all of these features and as far as I can tell I’ve never paid a dime for them. I use the weather app the most, and it works even in cell dead zones. Sad that automakers are moving towards subscriptions like this.

On Truck King they said they shifted from 5th to 3rd but Toyota came back and said they think it was user error and Howard shifted all the way down to 1st instead by mistake. I’m not sure the truck King guys are totally convinced(IMHO). The subscription business is annoying right now. I’m wondering what else will be moved to subscriptions in the future?
The car content providers really need to dig into the fleet vs personal sales figures. Let’s call Ford and others out on this. I suspect Ford uses discounted fleet sales so they can make the “best selling” truck claim.
I really like blue cruise, but not for 800 dollars a year. Good point about paying for the hardware and can’t use it if you don’t pay when the trial is over. I will not a vehicle without CarPlay! I’ll put up with glitches on my Lightning infotainment just to have my wireless CarPlay. Why does Caddy Lyric have CarPlay and other GM cars don’t? The Honda Prologue that is built by GM has CarPlay?
Tundra selling more shows that any publicity is good publicity. Ford and Chevy sell a ton of trucks and they both constantly have quality issues, maybe you have to build something with problems so Americans will buy more🤣🤣🤣 All joking aside I do love my 17 tundra TRD PRO. Subscriptions suck! I am so glad I don't have any car subscriptions! You always bring good info, keep it up!
Because governments go with the lowest bids for their fleets. I worked for an outfit that went with Ram trucks because of the 100k warranty. We would auction them off at 100K. They ALL used those power train warranties; mostly (repeated) transmission failures. The F-150 has been the “most popular truck in America” because of deeply discounted fleet sales so Ford can keep saying that.

I was active duty Army from 2001-2022. Two deployments (OIF/OIR). I am a dem. Father was in Vietnam 65-66. Both grandfathrs fought in France. Both had CIBs. All dems. Are we not Americans? Last I checked we have freedom and I can vote for whoever I want. I don't vote for draft dodgers who mock US POWs. I have standards.
If so, so what? Why does that matter on a truck/SUV review? You know people can have different political viewpoints and still have knowledge or skills that have nothing to do with politics. You’re bleeding out on the operating table but you don’t want that “liberal” surgeon to save your life? Don’t fall into the tribal politics blind logic dude. Sometimes the “other side” is right.
So? It's a free country. You're allowed to be a liberal, conservative, libertarian or whatever floats your boat. Better question is, why even bring politics into a truck reviews channel???????

I had a 2016 Toyota that had subscription free nav. Last year Toyota dropped the support of the app and just like that, nav was gone.

Does the 2025 Explorer have CarPlay?
