    Criticisms on your advice:
-You should totally invest in yourself but don't JUST invest in yourself while totally ignoring personal finance. Do both at once. I think you should only really invest ONLY in yourself if it's a problem that's preventing you from doing other stuff; like your mental health completely hindering you from being mentally stable enough to make good financial decisions. Or if your mental health is completely terrible and you're debilitated.
-You don't exactly need to invest in certain things per say, specifically books, as you can just use library genesis to get a pdf of basically any self help book you can think of FOR FREE. Also, the part where you're talking about investing in your looks may give some people the wrong idea to go drop hella cash on expensive clothes, haircuts, and stuff they don't need. Your audience definitely contains impressionable teenagers who will misconstrue your advice so you need to be very careful with how you deliver it. You overemphasized spending in this video. I think you should have offset the "investing" it by saying "spend your money on good stuff, but cut costs where you can".
Other than that, I agree with the overall message of the video, you absolutely do not reap the rewards of index funds if you're dead LMAO. Love your vids dude!

He doesn't know shit about finance. He just heard someone talk about it and got a biased POV. If people wanna learn about money and what to do with it, they should go to a financial advisor, not a UA-camr. all of the stuff he says is like those "source: trust me bro" type of shit.

@@IFYCRT Focusing on active income as your primary priority isn't exactly bad advice. Some of the stuff he said like paying for time to be freed up is classically preached by Ramit Sethi, but you need adequate income to do that. It wouldn't make sense to pay for a maid when you're making 2k a month. The only thing I'd change is investing early in index funds/stocks and crypto, but I understand the overall theme of what he's saying. There are faster ways to increase income than just relying on VTSAX and Coca Cola dividends. It'd be better to put $5,000 into getting certifications for your field to boost your annual income 50k than to dump that 5k into a fund.

Step 1 is crucial and I agree 100% with that. However, since time is so valuable, I think you can do steps 2-4 while investing in the market (invest more in the market when you're at a higher step).

100% A lot of the time financial youtubers casually mention that the first 100k in an investment portfolio is the hardest to get, because you have to do the heavy lifting yourself, through savings and other forms of income. They don't bring up the logical follow up that without a good source of income or a large lump sum of wealth, investing isn't directly useful to you.
I don't think that this diminishes the value of understanding and committing to investing as a pathway to financial freedom, I just wish that people would be more open about it. A lot of people get all passionate at the idea of retiring early by beating the market, and then just give up once they realise it isn't that easy. As always, Hamza's shooting down the false hope whilst showing us the harsh yet hopeful truth, even when it doesn't sell well. Respect.

Great video. But there are some things I disagree with:
    1. Getting a haircut every 2 weeks (In Step Two)
    - You can save money by getting a clipper and maybe getting a haircut once a month. As your income increases, you can then increase the visits to once every 2 weeks, or even once per week.
    2. Paying someone to clean
    - This is not necessary. In my opinion, the people who should pay others to clean need to already be a millionaire or at least close to being one
    3. Getting a therapist
    - No one should be paying a therapist "X" amount per hour when on step 1 making little to no money. Instead, do Gratitude and Meditiation. Talk to a good friend who is knowledgeable and trustworthy as your therapist.
If you have serious mental problems due to family or relationships, getting professional help is optimal.
    4. Not Investing in the market
    - If you have consistent income and are able to contribute a small portion of your money every week/month, do it. It's all amout time and consistency when investing. Do it while you're young. While you make money in Step 2, invest as well. Contribute more to your portfolio as your income rises

Health is literally one of my top priorities and I’ve recently had my flow and way of living start building up. Was working out more, reading and meditating, eating what I deemed sufficient for me, and that all led to me being more open socially which allowed me to be more authentically myself and led to a better social life at work. But recently, I had some setbacks and fell off my routine which led to me falling off eating healthy as well, which led to me going back into “remission” and going back into a shell of myself and my social life went down with it. This has proved to me that it’s okay to be selfish at times to better yourself, but don’t get too sucked into it once you get yourself going as it’ll lead you nowhere.

Some of this advice is spot on (invest in health, personal image/style etc.) but some of it is a bit questionable. For example the tip advice; Youre essentially saying to tip for an ego boost? doesnt sound grounded or smart at all.

    • @Dakiller1243

Kindness is not an ego boost.
Try doing voluntary work and you'll know the feeling he gets. Kindness is a very strong way to actually feel good (not boosting your ego). • @dna8269
      @dna8269 2 роки тому +1

It's not an ego boost, it's positive perception and state of mind alteration. There is a DRASTIC change in the mind and how you view yourself when you can give to others. Think of the opposite mindset: begging or needing help. It's a paralyzing feeling, hurts your self-confidence, and erodes your hope in life in general. Everyone wants to be the person that lends and not borrows. It creates momentum that makes you feel successful, which builds on itself as long as you are doing the work correctly otherwise.

As long as you improve yourself by sport, intellectual practice like science, philosophy, learning languages or learning an instrument, i don't see how starting to invest your money can be a bad thing. Learning to invest in crypto has been very interesting to me and gave me a real sense of money management and saving.

Love you Hamza, but *the steps you mention in this video are not mutually exclusive.*
You can invest in your health, your skills, your time, your social life, and for the long term (stocks, crypto, real estate, etc.) *all at the same time!* The longer you invest, the more you profit, so waiting to invest in anything just means loosing potential profits.
Imo, the best thing to do is invest in all of these at the same time. After all, you don't put ALL of your money into any of these at one time, so *just take the money that's laying around and invest it where ever you can*

you dont actually get rich from index funds or real estate, cause the returns you get just cover inflation. Now if you look at the official inflation numbers you might see that your return is slightly higher then inflation, but REAL inflation is way higher. If you look at the s&p500 divided by the m2 money supply ($) youll see that the stocks dont actually grow more then inflation. Index funds and real estate protect your money from inflation in the long run, but if you wanna get rich crypto is the only way but its also way more risky so be careful with that one.

Crypto (specifically speaking Bitcoin any other alt coin is hyped by Jeffreys) is a good way to invest same story with index funds. Hamza is talking about getting capital for further investing if you're not investing in you're business. I can agree I used to be hooked on getting rich quick with stupid stocks like coca cola. I started a vending machine business and started making passive income. Before this I started dieting and working out. I regret not meditating before hand but I do now. Start your own business instead of crossing fingers that some big company will blow. Don't rely on other people come up with an idea and execute it.

The thing about index funds is it takes a week to set up the proper accounts (Roth IRA, 401k, brokerage, HSA). The rest is just throwing your spare paycheck money into it as if it's a secondary bank account. It's an effortless routine with long-term benefits. I agree with most of the video, investing into mental and physical health, career growth and a social life are all more important than index funds. But its a year long process (usually more) to work on those things. No reason to wait until all of that is done to move your spare money to index funds. I would recommend people take a week to setup retirement accounts with a portfolio of index funds after step 1. Still great advice nevertheless, I'm going to invest in a therapist immediately, then career growth

Invest some amount of money, not to get rich quick, but to learn how to invest and have financial awareness.

I find it weird that Hamza is so against investing in index funds. Investing in a low-cost index fund over the long term is the safest and most reliable way to achieve financial freedom. It's delayed gratification, something that Hamza preaches all the time. Not everyone can or should be a business owner, but everyone should own assets, and as someone pointed out earlier, you can do both. When you're young the ONE thing you have an absolute advantage in is time. The earlier you start investing, the more time your money has to compound. Like, investing 500€ a month for 50 years will amount to 2,6 million, assuming 7 % yearly returns. That's significant. It's enough to retire on, and although 500 / month is a lot when you're young, once you start working its not an unreasonable amount.
