I just think the 14 Plus is perfect. If you're a regular person who wants a regular phone, but bigger, this is an amazing option. I don't like the dynamic island because it's too distracting. I don't care about the 48MP camera sensor. I just want the best battery life possible and a bigger screen to enjoy my time in UA-cam ⭐
Exactly not everybody is a tech freak. I think the 14 plus is a great medium between the current lineup.

Got my powder blue iPhone 14 Plus a couple of weeks ago and absolutely love it! Excellent photos/videos, 6.7” beautiful OLED display, excellent battery life, don’t care about the Dynamic Island or premium camera modules/sensors, etc. I traded-in my iPhone SE 2022 and my iPhone 13 mini and am GLAD I DID SO!!
What are your views on its low refresh rate? I've heard it's really noticeable and is kind of a turn off.

I purposely think the mini was too small. It’s good but it feels almost toy like. I wish they just brought back the exact size of the iPhone X and call it the mini

I think a BIG part to the equation is: WHAT PHONE ARE YOU UPDATING FROM?. Buying the 14 plus when coming from a 7 plus is still a huge upgrade in almost every way. Screen size, camera quality, processing speeds, emergency features, display quality. If you already own an I phone 13, there’s no REAL reason to upgrade to the equivalent models in the 14 lineup. Expecting revolutionary changes to every new I phone model that comes out is not a realistic expectation nor is it sustainable. Upgrades seem to be more meaningful to the buyer when they upgrade their phone every 2-3 years.
Agreed. I have upgraded from 7 plus and it’s fantastic. 14 pro max might be better in many aspects but the thing I care about is BATTERY LIFE and believe me it’s battery life is just ULTIMATE today I had to travel in a hot day charged it till 80% and now it’s 22% after constant use of maps,UA-cam,camera,calling for 10+ hours it’s still at 22 which will get me through tomorrow’s entire day on low power mode if I have no outlet and got stuck.. so in conclusion all the reviews are just making us spend extra for stuff we don’t really need… so just GO FOR WHAT YOU WANT!

I have used 5 iPhones and 3 Androids
A $400 android phone in 2022 feels much much smoother and faster than the 14 plus due to 120 hz

@@Phoenix-King-ozai the argument of getting a 13 pro max goes out the window if you can’t find one. Apple doesn’t make them anymore so you would be left with getting a refurbished or used phone which is still risky.
I’ll also add that there are some people who don’t need the extra features and would rather save the 200 bucks over getting a 14 pro. Having the 14 plus in the lineup just means more options. Something to be happy about IMO.

I got the 14 plus black 256GB when it launched here in Romania, I will say it’s the perfect phone for someone like me because I am a lawyer, I used to dread buying a pro max to read real time on the go legal documents, to use maps, bounce emails on the go. I am in the apple ecosystem with a watch 5 cellular, an ipad air 4 and a macmini from the intel days and the 14 plus is my upgrade from my Xs Max. I need the battery to be there for me, overkill battery, heck I have a battery bank in my backpack just in case. But for a high stress intensive job like mine the light design, big screen, amazing battery is the perfect fit and I am really happy I don’t have to shell out another couple of benjamins extra to get the 14 pro max.
So glad I saw your comment despite all the negative comments for plus. I'm a law student and iphone 14 plus suits me. Since I dont need all the extras in a pro max and dont like carrying an ipad but needed something handy enough that I can still read cases and other reading materials comfortably.

Did anything about the XS Max let you down and make you feel the need to upgrade? Especially since battery degradation can be addressed with a swap.

I recently bought 14 plus and I am loving it. No complaints so far. A big screen and bigger battery is a big advantage. The mini was a ridiculously small phone.

As someone who has been using 6.7 sized phones for the last 5 years I can't imagine going back to a smaller screen and I don't have a grand to drop on a Pro Max.
As someone who is hard of hearing and wears hearing aids everyday, I really appreciate the accessibility on this phone. I think it’s one of those features that gets overlooked all the time and now I can have access throughout most platforms without having to rely on my speaker, wearing my hearing aids or reading lips. I can’t wait to mess with it more 🎉
Love my 14 plus! Screen size and battery life was most important to me. Saved $200 going with it over a 14pm and $100 over a 13pm.
Just saying you really didn’t save money if you spent $900 for a phone with worse specs than its pro counterpart, which is only $100 more and comes with WAY more features

Last year I finally ditched my iPhone 6s and got a 13 mini and I absolutely love the living bejesus out of it. There is no right or wrong iPhone, that's why the lineup is so big, so there's something for everyone! :-)

That is the exact upgrade I have been considering.
Didn’t get the plus but have the 13pm which has similar battery life. And it really does make a difference in marginal semi emergency situations. For example I work back to back 12 hour shifts, so I will routinely forget to plug in my phone and wake up to a dead battery and have no time to charge in the morning. More battery life gives me more leeway and means I don’t have to carry around a power bank.
I always feel that I'm holding a small book when holding my 14pm. The dynamic island sometimes bothers me, sometimes it doesn't. Depends on what I'm doing with the phone.
I solde my 13 pro max to replace it by the 14 plus and it's the best move i have never done! 14 plus is lighter, has a very good battery and colours of standards iphone are more interesting! I don't need extra fonctions of the pros, so long life to the plus iphones i hope! I bought the purple 💜

I think the more leftover battery left at the end of the day yet still being charged to full equals to less battery cycle as it will be spread out throughout few days. Hence it stays at 100% battery health for longer
i think with how the 14plus handles its battery power, the overall health and life of the battery will last a a lot longer, letting 14plus users keep their phone longer.
i pretty much use my ipad for anything my phone can do since i work from home. i just need phone for calls and literally nothing else.
even when i go out, i have a work phone that does everything my iphone can do minus notability.
i think the 14 plus is going to age with style and grace

Thanks for sharing! My AT&T plan gives up to $800 towards an iPhone if you turn in your old one and sign up for an incredibly long unlimited data plan. We decided to get the iPhone Plus for one of my kids and for both of my wife's parents. The only real requirement for all of them was the largest screen so the SC would not work.
I'm fine with my iPhone Mini 13 (RIP mini). If I get my wish, the Mini shell will become the SC base in the next couple of years.

It’s great if you’re fine with who you have for a carrier. The plus on AT&T is actually $5 a mo and doesn’t require a trade. However, I’m paying a slight difference for my 13 pro max by trading a XS Max.

Coming from a XS Max, my new (also red) 14 Plus is quite an upgrade, especially the battery life. I definitely understand the hesitation of consumers who own more recent models to go for the practically unchanged from last year 14s.
Alas, the 13 mini's sales stunk and that's why Apple cancelled it.
I switched carriers and I have a E-Sim. I went from T-Mobile to Verizon and didn’t loose my contacts. You can ask the carrier you’re switching to port the number from your current carrier.

Generally I agree with most of your reviews. But, I think you totally missed the mark here as a review for the “general” public. Specifically, your issue with the 14+ is that it does not have all the bells and whistles that the next two upgrades do. I just went from the 12 mini to the 14+ and am totally satisfied. I don’t need promotion, 48 mp cameras, 2X zoom and a super fast chip (16 is not really that much faster than the 15, in reality) and the average person would never see the difference. And, battery life is important. I hate having to put a phone on a charger several times a day to keep using it. And, oddly enough, most “reviewers” of the 14+ bash it on price, rather than overall performance. BTW, my phone is costing me $3 a month.
Are there stutters on the plus. I'm hearing some lag and stutters occur on the phone but I'm not if it only affects pro models

So, they claim the battry life 20hour, so its test with data on 5G or with only wifi? how much percent brightness? after that they can claim as much as the result get.. why we need turn on off setting when setting up new iphone because if battery life
Hey, thanks for the video. Can you agree with you the 14+ is kind of priced weird … to add one more thing that Apple got rid of the regular Sim card and made iPhone 14‘s only eSIM kept me from upgrading it’s all guess I’ll be keeping my iPhone 13 for quite a while. I have a smaller phone that I used for runs and so I don’t want to get a second number just for runs it that’s a waste so I swap my Sim card out on the weekends when I go for my long runs, I guess I’ll be all right. Won’t be upgrading very soon.

I’m with you about the ‘ Notch ‘, I like it. To me, the Notch represents an iPhone ! it’s the signature look of a modern iPhone. And on the 13 & 14, it’s smaller. I have the 2020 SE, which doesn’t have a Notch, and I love that too, but if I upgrade, I want my Notch 😂👍
Notch is woefully outdated by today’s standards. Every other smartphone manufacturer has moved on from it, much like they did when thick bezels became a thing of the past. It’s time to get rid of it entirely and work towards a display with no intrusions whatsoever
Just as a test I used my iPhone 14 plus like usual and didn’t have to charge it until the 2 and a half day mark, it reached 1% then I charged it, but it took a while, and I do use my phone quite a lot for just about everything.
That red is AMAZING and I’m jealous I can’t get a Pro Max in that color. It burns your retinas. 😍

I always wanted a regular , plus-size iPhone since I don't actually use the tripple-camera setup. but the pricepoint is way off here. The 14 Plus competes with last years iPhone 13 Pro Max and what is the most important thing when at the first glance of the device. It's the screen so no having 120 Hz on the 14 Plus is a mistake and that is also one of the reason why I think the 14 Plus will be the least sold iPhone in this years lineup.
I just bought two iPhone 14 Plus phones, one for myself and one for my wife. I would have gotten the iPhone 14 Pro Max instead, but they are no where to be found at stores, including at Apple Stores, and they have a minimum 1 month wait time. Since we both needed a phone right away, our Apple Stores only had iPhone 14 or iPhone 14 Plus models available. I chose to get the iPhone 14 Plus 256GB models, to give us plenty of battery life and memory for the future. It seems like Apple can't make enough of the iPhone 14 Pro Max and iPhone 14 Models currently. Overall very happy with the iPhone 14 Plus. Price is high, but that's likely due to inflation and higher costs. I view my iPhone as an investment, as it is essential for my business. If I just needed a cheap iPhone, I would buy an iPhone SE. Hopefully the next iPhone SE will have a bigger screen and larger battery to appeal to more people, and fill that low cost segment.
Just out of curiosity, why didn’t you go for the iPhone 13 Pro instead? You would have ended up paying less for so much more

@@zeusx6479 the 13 pro has gone through a lot of battery testing by a lot of different UA-camrs and managed to last an entire day even on heavy usage. And how is the 6.1 inch 13 pro considered “small” when furthermore the average user either has an iPad/tablet, laptop, or a television at home. At this point you might as well put one of those 3 giants in your pocket if you feel you need a plus or a pro max iPhone

I’m really curious how this one will hold up I have a 14pm and the battery life for me is great and that’s with aod and medium to heavy use and a brighter screen so I can only imagine what the 14 plus is like with a 60hz screen and not as bright good video I got a co worker that has one and he loves it

13PM. Maybe upgrade to the 15. Not a chance on the 14PM because my 13PM is still out of the box fast with zero issues. 94% battery health, charge every night and I have owned it for over a year.
I agree not everyone is getting one of IPhone 14 series and me and my nephew is upgrade to one of IPhone 15 series in 2023 we still have IPhone 12

I bought the 14 plus on launch weekend October 8th and I traded in my 12 mini that i had for almost 2 years. Now the 12 mini was a great little iPhone and it served me well even with the small battery 🔋 life. But I’ve had a few iPhones and by far this is a battery 🔋 champ I get 2 days at least on a charge which is great. Everyone trashes on the 14 plus because of whatever reason which is there own just like everyone did to both the 12 mini and the 13 mini. Which cause the fall of both iPhones and it will happen to this one as well cancel culture strikes again.

The biggest issue with the mini is the battery. So kinda makes sense that they stopped it. Like what’s the point if your battery health gets below 90 within a year ? However yeah, the 14 line up is priced way too steep.
You talked me into the iPhone 13 mini in your last video and it's what will replace the old iPhones in our house when the time comes. The 14 lineup doesn't really interest me at all.
I got the 14 plus. I would have got the 13 pro max if I can get renewed but something like that not exist in my country. We only have used one. So if you value battery life then the 14 plus is the best value I can get.
Nobody cared when Apple used to do small evolutions every other year with “S” models, so why do care now? Phones weren’t meant to be upgraded every year anyway, it’s a better upgrade when you do it every 2-3 years.
i feel like with the way apple has handled this year's evolution, it's bound to be criticized as for the prices on the 14 and 14+ aren't negligible. comparing the 13 -> 14 and 6 -> 6s, the latter brought better value and actual new pieces of useful tech rather than the former. but i do agree that phones don't necessarily need to be that big of an upgrade every year, it'd just be better for apple to strategize better to increase sales for them and to provide satisfaction from customers upgrading from older models.
To be fair having used it he iPhone 14 plus is a really good phone, the two things that lets it down is the camera only has 5x digital zoom which is rather poor at the price point and second is I totally agree for a base model phone with a larger screen it is a £100 (in the UK) too much for what it is

Love the idea of the Plus, hate the fact it killed the Mini. If they could all exist, I'd love it. Curious if they will make the mini a rotational item or maybe put it in as the new SE body style and raise the price. I love the form factor of the Mini and it fits my life perfectly.
I came to the 14 Plus after a brief android stint with a Google Pixel 4a 5G. Before that my last iPhone was the 2020 SE.
For me what drive me to the Pixel in the first place was screen size. The SE being still in the iPhone 6 body didn’t cut it anymore, felt too dated. The iPhone 12 at the time still felt too small. And 1,5 grand for a Pro Max? No thanks! The mini phone to me was always a joke and useless in most applications. As a sat nav in the car? Too small. Watching videos when waiting somewhere? Your eyes hurt. Almost a middle finger to the people on a budget: you want a big phone? Too bad, better be rich! You only get a tiny joke instead. I’m super happy with my 14 plus and it is all I need and even a bit I don’t. Awesome phone

I so called upgraded it from the 11 mainly for the larger display, oled screen, camera, faceid with mask, battery. 😂 I would say the speakers are very loud.

iPhone 14 Plus makes sense as the carrier incentive phone. ATT has the 128gb for $180.
I bought the 14 plus say goodbye to dynamic island. The notch fits perfect with the screensize. And the colours are more real than the 15. Plus I dont need usb C, and if you do go back to android xD
The mini series didn’t sell enough because that’s a niche audience. Generally speaking, people like big bright screens. As far as getting the 14 plus over the 13 pro max, I can see why people would steer toward the 13 pro max, but you also get lesser trade in value, and it’ll soon be out of date for iOS updates. I have the 14 Plus coming from an XR and I love it. I’m big on battery life. I wouldn’t have a need for pro max features unless they get rid of the upcoming plus series and now that I’ve tried the bigger 6.7 inch screen I CANNOT go back to a smaller iPhone.

You are spot on when you said Apple should have shifted the 6.1" 14 to $699 and the 14 Plus to $799. That would have made all the difference! I mean, Apple recycled so much of the iPhone 13's parts that they could have done it. Even the Apple Watch SE2 saw a price reduction, so why not with whats basically an iPhone 13s?

120hz and 48mp sensors are not “nerd gimmicks.” They are features that people actually take advantage of, both gamers and photographers. You’re just trying to defend a $900 phone that lacks features that android phones have had for the past 5 years
I picked up this iPhone 14 plus myself not for $899 670 sounded more realistic to me and I’m happy with the that purchase can’t wait for it to come in the mail starlight version 128 GB space unlocked so I agree with you every day dead 899 is way out of anybody’s price range

Yes eSIM only "SUCKS BIG TIME"!!!!! After reviewing cellular carriers website, and some UA-cam clips looks like eSIM is going to be a pain, however workable to first setup. Since I have killed a previous iPhone, which I was able to pop the SIM, and moved it to another iPhone until I was able to get my iPhone repaired/replaced I needed to know if this is an easy operation with eSIM.
eSIM only in USA makes it look like it is time for me to move to Google Pixel Pro smartphone.
Can't agree with you honestly, iPhone 14 plus is definitely a brilliant phone overall... talking about price point, it seats in the sweat spot between regular 14 and 14 pro lineup..most of the people would like it for sure..
Lol it is not priced right at all. $900? That’s literally $100 less than the 14 pro, why would you ever get a 14 Plus for that price? This should’ve been $750 at most, and the regular 14 at $700

I’m sticking with my 13 mini which I love. I have an iPad if I need a bigger screen.
I sold my 12 Mini to get the 13 Pro for the 120Hz display and better battery life... while the 13 Pro is amazing it is super heavy and not comfortable to use. I Do miss the 12 Mini so much. sometimes I think maybe I should sell the Pro and get the 13 Mini.

I have a 14 pro max. I love the larger display, battery life, and the high refresh rate screen. I have nystagmus that gets a lot worse on lower refresh rate devices (like 60 hz) so having the higher smoother display is essential to me. I would have loved to go for the base or plus model iphone 14 and to save the money but to me, compared to other phones, it just wasn't worth it. In 2022 it's absolutely insane to me to have a phone costing over $700 that doesn't have a high refresh rate display. As far as value goes, I'm aware it's very subjective and value is whatever you want to pay but comparing to other phones on the market, the 14 Plus is just an awful value. It ends up being similar to the issue of the M2 Macbook where the prices are just too tight between last years and this years model to actually justify it existing. It's a great phone but are you really getting your money's worth when last years Pro model offers way may for being nearly identical in pricing?
The dynamic island is more ugly than the notch , it is waste of screen
@@zeusx6479 Subjective opinions. Personally, I prefer dynamic island. Some people may prefer the notch. That doesn't make one better or worse than the other.
Not everyone is getting this year iPhones most people is upgrade to one of IPhone 15 series in 2023 or most people keep their old iPhone longer most people did unboxing one of IPhone 14 series it is not their phone

@@zeusx6479 you say this while every other smartphone manufacturer has moved on from the notch because of how outdated it looks. It was fine in 2017, but in the year 2022 going into 2023, the notch should not be on the flagship phones. It would be much better on a budget iPhone, much like the SE models
I've always thought this, ever since the 12 mini came out, but if apple had made the mini phones just slightly larger, maybe up to 5.6 inches from 5.4 it would have solved ALL of their problems.
Just had to do with money.
1) They could charge more for plus models
2) Almost the same chassis compared to Pro max models which would again save money

@@Jareddyck Probably. But most people nowadays are happy with 6 inch phones. You could tell that by seeing the android phones which always starts at 6 inch. Personally I would be happy with anything between 5.7 to 6 inch. May be if they released something a bit bigger than 5.4, like you said, would have stood a chance

I sold my 12 pro max and now thinking about upgrading to the 14 plus I need a larger screen due to my horrible vision but don’t wanna spend money on features I’ll never use and I’m tired of heavy phones so this should scratch my itch indeed color doesn’t matter ima case it it sold me with the battery and light weight

Gives you more years of usable battery life with battery degradation. Simple as that.
I think it should last longer if you're like me who takes a lot of videos and pbotos when going out. my 13 cant last the whole day.

If this phone had a 90hrz screen, a frosted back, the dynamic Island … something that would make it stand out But with nothing more then the standard 14. Yeah NO too bad because I was looking forward to this phone.
