Wow! So great to see young women play that old stuff so splendedly. I saw The Ventures live in 1992 and heard a beautiful song that you guys have helped me to remeber- Gandy dancer. Thousands thanks!
@@malcolmdrake6137 Read. He didn’t say they weren’t good years ago, he said they’re getting even better. I’d agree. I bet the Surfrajettes would agree, too.
Annie's style of drumming fits perfectly with their music. Any drummer for them has big shoes to fill with Dani Nash as their studio drummer, but Annie gets it done. Always a fun show, and they are all very talented musicians.
Sarah Butler (the bass player) also used to be in a fantastic rockabilly band called the Millwinders. She was the lead singer on most of their songs and has a fantastic voice.
@@luvyesmusici4886 There are two Millwinders albums on Bandcamp and some videos on UA-cam of them performing live. There's also a video of Sarah Butler singing Patsy Cline's "Love, Love, Love Me Honey Do" with a different band.
i take it this is latesof then and are still as great as first i heard of then they truly are one so best surf sound i heard in a long time sound😘💖👌 is so good just love surfe rock mmm
nicole is so cool and such a smoke show i cant get enough of that burgundy mist stratocaster its a gem and these lady rock im trying to see the concert back in the states this summer
It sounds to me like "El Condor Pasa" (lyrics by Paul Simon, and music by Peruvian Daniel Alomía Robles, according to Google), reimagined as a surf tune.
I heard she is also a school teacher so can't always be on tour, not sure if its true but they get some great fill in bass players too. I saw Via Mardot play with them a few years ago, she was awesome
Regardless of what they are playing, they need to keep their dancing rhythms solid. From head movements, eye gestures to guitar holding and toe tapping
Just not very tight. Would help if they cut the reverb, and stayed with well defined lead and rhythm parts like they did with Gandy Dancer. Drums and bass are superb tho.
I've watched a few clips now, and I have to say, these performances are the most boring I've ever seen. Negligible stage presence and the lead guitarist has a look on her face that says she'd rather be somewhere else right now. The fact there are no vocals doesn't help. This isn't a slam because they're women, either. An all-male performance would be the same.
This is their best combo ever Annie on drums is fantastic to get the group going.

I’ve been following the Surfrajettes for a number of years and see them steadily get better.
You can't have seen much of them, if you think they weren't good to begin with...😂
i love the originals so much banshee pop is a certified bop and by that i mean a real banger

They try harder❤❤❤
What a sound at this concert... Amazing
YOU GROOVY GALS ARE BUILDING A WONDERFUL LEGACY. 😊❤🎉

I'M 68 YEARS OLD AND THE SURFRAJETTES MAKE ME WANT TO TAKE UP SURFING 😊🎉❤
The three guitarists have always been on point but this new drummer takes them to 11!
They all compliment each others playing. Very tight. No hogging the spotlight. As it should be.
Drummer is layin’ it down 😂👍👏👏👏👏
These ladies are a quadruple threat. I have become a huge fan in just over two weeks when they first popped up on my feed.

@@hardwickebenthow Thank you for letting me know. I will look her and her previous band up.

So happy surf rock is alive and well! ❤❤❤

This is their combo Annie on drums is fantastic to get the group going.
Exceptional and a great sound! ❤️
Wow, just great!!! Can't wait to see you all this May!
Drummer is outstanding!!
Loved the smokin' take on Malaguena!
They are so dang good. Tone masters to boot.

So, Kool 🤗they were joined by Deke Dickerson 💕just love these Kittens 🐈⬛ 🥰😬
Very cool - last song ruled. 🙂
Good camera work! Nice to see Sarah!
Have you heard any of her music from when she was in the Millwinders? She's a great singer.

Their music always makes me smile.
Yeah definitely feel good music for sure.
Sounding real good…and SPAIN in February!! Smart booking to get away from the Toronto snow!!
❤❤❤
Sarah is a Goddess!
Normally I'm a Nicole watcher, but Shermy is really grooving this set.
Hey Tarantino...for your 10th film..don't miss out.I vote for Couch surfing.
Idea for his next soundtracks cool 😅

The members seem to change, so I'm not sure if this is the latest lineup; the drummer in this video is excellent, so I hope she's a permanent member.
Me too, she is amazing
The two guitar players are constants, the bass player is a teacher, so sometimes can't tour. The drummers have changed a few time however.
question please! what is the name of the song that starts at around 8 minutes? It is not on your disc. thx I really like it

@@1man1guitarletsgo thanks! zi think you are correct. They do it here so well!!
Do they sing? Or is it all instrumental?
Sarah’s back on bass, where was she?

@@michaelriddell9398 She could keep me after school anytime.
Is the red guitar a Supra?
Creston.
Is it always the same bassist or sometimes a different bassist? I feel like I've seen another bassist in these youtube videos.
No Les Pauls, No singer, No problem.

Het komt wat stijfjes over en de nummers zijn grotendeels onbekend….voor torremelinos had ik ook een aantal echt bekende covers gespeeld…sound is ok…

You have a negligible brain presence.
May the cool of instrumental surf one day wash over you. A few choreographed simple steps and spins here and there wouldn't hurt.
