Robert Cray Band:
Robert Cray: Vocals, Guitar
Tim Kaihatsu: Guitar
Jim Pugh: Keyboards, Organ
Richard Cousins: Bass
Kevin Hayes: Drums
John Murray: Percussion
Andrew Love: Tenor-Saxophone
Wayne Jackson: Trumpet
such an underrated blues guitarist. His signature bright and precise tone and those bends are matchless. Even though I liked more tracks of SRV, Clapton, King vs rather than those of Robert, I realize that I was always in the pursuit of this tone and playing style unconciously.
+Hüsamettin Yaratici i always thought he chased a mark knopfler sound
+Simon Robeyns As much as I love Knopfler, he couldn't hold a candle to Robert Cray. Anyway, he pre-dates Knopfler.
+Rick Ellis I'm not sure that's fair , Knopfler has some great chops especially live (Alchemy).
i have been listening to this man for 30yrs and he just keeps getting better and better . . . . . . vocals are still amazing!!!!!! you the man ROBERT CRAY!
This is my favorite Austin City Limits episode. It was Robert, Buddy Guy, and a tribute to the late and great Stevie Ray Vaughn
BECAUSE OF ME~~~OH, SHE WAS RIGHT NEXT DOOR - SHE'S GONNA LOOSE THE MAN WHO REALLY LOVES HER~~~ LOVE MR. ROBERT CRAY AND THE BAND BAD, BAD, BAD
master player of soul blues
Legend. You can't compare him - it's an insult.
... She was just another notch on my guitar...
Robert Cray at his worst is amazing... this performance is at his best. Go figure!
Magical tune & a performance here to match.
He was kinda new then, it seemed to me … and I was thinkin’, where the fuck did this superstar come from?
Been a fan ever since.
I wish the audio on this was a bit less compressed sounding, but I love this upload!
Gosto muito do som desse cara.Conheci através de um amigo quando me apresentou o CD "TAKE YOUR SHOES OFF" Eu estava num momento muito triste e esse disco foi um alento.
I first saw Robert Cray a couple of times he was the support act on a Tina Turner tour in the mid 80s and I'm looking forward to seeing him in Edinburgh next May!!
Hayes/Cousins rhythm section is RCB at its best
rest in peace tim kaihatsu
Tim played rhythm guitar. He stands on stage to the right of Robert Cray. He was a long time friend of mine, back into high school days. A fine guitarist and musician. I miss him.
Hi John,
Good to read some words from a guy who ´ve been lucky to cross Tim’s road 🎸
4:27 fkn awesome keychange. Smoked a little weed to that outro
1:15 musical ear
Judge Lance Ito holding down the rhythm guitar
