God given talent on display. He's brought tears to my eyes....not the songs or lyrics. Just because he is soooo good. The complete package as far as playing and singing. My all time favorite
I have loved Robert Cray ever since I saw him in a black and white video sitting on a stool just with his guitar singing Smoking Gun on December 31st 1989 in New York at Radio City Music Hall. I grew up with Blues playing Brothers, eight of them with two number one bands when they were in their teens. The blues and the Beatles where the two different genres met were the Blues. My lullabies. All the blues doing this make me smile. And Robert Cray young Bob so dubbed by BB King is the best of them. I love especially, his way of singing and playing that "rubberbander sounding" guitar of his!, as I call it. Reminiscent of Robert Johnson and Lightnin' Hopkins...ha ha! So god,...I wonder, right next door, the dream, I can't go home and of course, Strong Persuader. I. Cover them all with my brothers...' can't be beat! Thanks babyyy. :)
That’s right Sweetheart! Thanks ! I almost forgot about that video that came out in the early 90’s I do believe 😤💪🏻✌🏻! It’s hard to beat His Smooth groove he seems to have stayed right in and he wouldn’t be such a great BluesMan had his awesome sound and groovy way had ever changed ! I like REAL PEOPLE AND REAL PEOPLE WILL BE THE SAME IN 20 years as they were when u seen them today✌🏻✌🏻
My favourite guitar and voice. The guitar is crisp and clear like a bell and every tone is a surprise with another sound. No effects, no distortion , a true guitar. Fantastic voice and guitar speech. Thats the real pure sound and feeling. Great !!!!!
Been a huge fan for 20+ years. Seen him live 5 times and never disappointed. His band members change, but his soulful blues sound never does, a big tribute to his leadership, and his chops.
In my humble opinion, Robert Cray sounds better live than album recording. Of course, it's best to hear him in person. Seen him twice in concert this year; it's been an absolute pleasure.
Robert Cray all day. You can tell his sound from miles away. This is the very first time I got to see in a full concert. I'm enjoying every bit of it. I respect unique artists.
I was first exposed to Robert Cray around 1986 or 87 with the Strong Persuader album and I wore out the tape playing it on road trips. So crazy how the same kind of music can still have its own unique sound with such great artists.
I went to see Robert Cray live in Manchester UK. The best concert I ever went to. In front of me there was a woman constantly taking photos with flash. Robert Cray stopped for a second and said to her "get out of my groove"....needless to say that was her last photo of the evening..
10 Years Ago and I’m still rockin with Robert Cray. One of the most underrated song writers and guitar players in history. Incredible sound that you can hear 10 miles away you can always tell it’s Robert playing. An inspiration I will hope one day to be playing like this man.
i,m glad cray is one of those old school artists who still young and great to bring such genuine blues . just amazing , i need few years to listen to his stuff
What can I say ??? The only sensible thing to do is to stay put and enjoy this blessing from God. Anything other than that is sheer foolishness! Greetings from Teresina , Piauí state, Brazil.
Why haven't I heard this man before? His sound is hypnotic and filled with soul. Reminds me of Tony Joe White with more WHAM. His voice is smooth. His music and drum beat kept me on the edge of my seat, still taping to the music. I'll be back. Love this man's music.
In my opinion the number one Blues guitar player of all the times! Feeling, groove, technical... i cried together his guitar on music "Twenty" coz my mother passed away on 12/03/2017. I had confuses feelings listening to this song. God Bless You Robert Cray! Thank you very much muzone for share this precious live performance!
I think of Robert Cray when I hear Lucinda Williams sing about, “Real live bleeding fingers and broken guitar strings.” Seeing him live was a revelation. I have never heard anyone, anytime, play guitar with more intensity. Genius!
THANKS ROBERT FROM YOUR VERY GOOD TALENTS VOCALS AND GUITARPLAYER...SOUL RHYTM'S IS FANTASTICS!!! RESPECT...SINCE. JACKYFAN 👍I HAVE LOOKING YOUR PRESTATIONS IN CROSSROADS FESTIVALS U.S.A. TOO MUCH JAM 'S....THANKS MISTER CRAY .
Fantastic Voice, Guitarist, and songwriter, vastly underrated, saw him live back in about 1982, would love to see him again, hopefully he'll tour UK again soon
I was right at the front when he played the Electric Ballroom in Camden, London, 1986. I was too young to drink but I didn't leave my spot all night anyway. Great show, hot and sweaty, the original Robert Cray band from the Bad Influence album. Thanks for good times Mr Cray!
I had gone to the Indy Jazz Fest for several years. I'm the biggest Robert Cray. I was stayinv at the same hotel. I kept telling my friend I was going to meet Robert Cray. We walked out the door and I almost walked into Robert Cray. I was shocked. I said excuse me. He smile no probs. I composed myself, We can't wait to hear you tonite. Thanks man He said who do you think I am.. I said your George Benson right. He got the joke and we laughed. He shook my hand..
Around 30 minutes, you will 'time makes two love' which is a great song he played at Eric Clapton's guitar festival where he quite some time ago and I think it was the Cotton Bowl. It is on my DVD given to me by Kev and Shan as it was maybe his first where he simply wrote everyone he wanted to hear (of course it included Robert Cray) and he was doing his best to stay sober while being such a brilliant mind, he had to seek help from others and he openly let people know throughout the world. His good friend, Jeff Beck, made it a point to have a cold pint after his session just to remind everyone that not all people who drink are drunks that have to tell the world.
Lucky enough to see him at a festival in Australia, blistering hot day, fantastic set, Then even luckier to meet him after the set, a complete gentleman, so talented yet he hardly raised a sweat. Thank you, will never forget it.
Lawd, I've been listening and loving this man and his music! 1980 something!! You got to Love The Blues guitarist and the One who plays and sings There Heart Out, He's one of many great Blues Artists 🎶🎸🎵🥁🎙🦅🌠🌿⚘🦋🐝😎
For me the introduction to Robert Cray came through a Freddie King Greatest Hits album featuring Help Me Through The Day - with that song I was hooked on the Blues. I went to the local music store and asked if they had anything similar and they told me about this guy called Robert Cray that had just released a new album called Strong Persuader. They put it on in the store and we stood there listening to the entire album together, wow, what an experience that was. At 14 years of age I knew that my life had just taken a turn, I had found the meaning of life, in a musical sense. Since then and to this day, now in my forties I have been and forever will be a devoted fan of his music.
Dam I love Robert cray and the blues . I was an apprentice sparky here in oz and at this point I couldn’t play when I started to listen to Robert. But dam he lit the fire in me
Great artist, fantastic singer and ace solo guitar player with a unique style. His solos are shimmering silver, trademark Stratocaster and a Blackface Fender sound. I love his rhythm playing style to!
Seen him play at the RAINBOW PALACE in Seattle back in 85' Been a fan ever since. Great vocals and a superb musician/guitarist. Was suppose to be on the same helicopter SRV died on back in 1990. WOW how time has passed. Love ya RC

Robert Cray live in concert un impresionante concierto, músico completo, una gran voz y un virtuoso de la guitarra, genial músicos de mucho nivel......
I saw him playing with a lot of guitarist and what I noticed his style of playing is unique also he loves what is he doing, wish to meet with him one day
I was in a 7-11 on Queen Anne Hill in Seattle in 1987 standing in line to buy my stuff, and the magazines were below the sales clerk on the front counter. Robert Cray was on the cover of Rolling Stone, so I was eyeballing the cover, then turned around and who do you think was in line behind me?! I pointed to the magazine and pointed back to him and he smiled and shook head 'yes'. I had seen him a few times live and was a fan, and let him know how amazing he is. He was very soft spoken and thanked me for liking his music. A class act all the way. (And yes, I know... I should have bought the magazine and had him sign it, but I felt that would be cheesy)

Robert has always been one of cleanest Guitar Bluesmen around , can't help dig his work...
No pedal board. Just the Man, his ax, and his amps. Beautiful.
THATS ALL IT TAKES. TAKE IT TO THE METAL..STRAIGHT UP
I am pretty sure I have heard him use a Delay before. Not taking away from him... just saying
Like the Great Ron Thompson used to say, "Pedalboards are for Punks!" LOL
@@UFeaster1978 he's definitely using a boost for the solos if no OD pedal
@@UFeaster1978 what's a delay son-bwoi?
I heard him sometime in the 80s the first time.
I instantly knew he is an icon of the electric blues.
Great tone and feel.
Just seen Robert Cray this past June of 2022 , He just get,s better and better , one of the greatest shows I have witnessed !
