      @@jasonm.8749 Considering we are talking about price REFERENCING not looking to buy from chrono... Prices on chrono are not sold prices. they are listed prices. It doesn't give an actual view of the available prices. Just for what people would like to get for the ones listed there. For price referencing or comparison for knowing what price things are ACTUALLY selling for you want to use a market tracker of sold items. Not a sales point.

    Chrono24 asking prices are just that -- asking prices. They are not "retail prices" per se. You won't know what the watches are actually selling for by browsing Chrono24 prices other than the lowest asking prices.

    The prices he cites are BS. John Mayer Daytona is trading max $75k among dealers. One sold at Philips auction for $78k including the 25% buyers premium. The hype post discontinuation did not last long and these keep dropping with no end in sight.

    Make as many of these as possible. It’s always nice to get a peek behind the curtain. Moda prices are a little lower than these but much of the variability seems to be due to condition and accoutrements. At the very least thanks for the attempt at transparency. God tier!

    My question is, do watch dealers buy watches with cash or credit? Basically, are they operating like a car dealership that needs to pay notes every month?

    • @greymarketpod
      @greymarketpod  Рік тому +2

      It depends on many factors. For example, Some dealers have access to credit from other dealers (a.k.a. Memo or Terms) while other dealers have to pay for every watch they purchase. Most of our buying happens from the public which means there are no lines of credit.

      I completely understand, there are only a handful of watches that you can hit a homerun with as far as profit goes and it probably doesn't happen as often as you would like it to. In the meantime you have to plug away with the marginal profit just to pay the bills, and you have to sell a lot of watches to do that.

    I just want an AD that will sell me one at retail. My local Mayors AD sucks. Been on their so called "list" for years for about 4 models. Jason, the AD game is hard to break into unless you are willing to play the game by buying stuff you really don't want before you get a Rolex you really do want. If not, buy the watch you want to wear from Luxury Bazaar and pay a "premium" over list-- although some Rolex models LB will sell below retail. Just remember that "everything is negotiable" so when you do call Luxury Bazaar be prepared to buy right away once you get a good deal. Don't negotiate and then say "I will think about it".

    saw a short from an old vlog about commission (Kevin, Marco MB&F deal), just something for LB admin to consider, where there is an assist involved why not split the commission 80 / 20 so that the person who helped gets 20% of commission than 0%? 50 / 50 is too much, 20 seems fair as otherwise if sales/buys member of LB team may not want to help and use their time if they get 0 in return and only a pat on the back
