A laser pointer might be helpful when identifying wires in due to the tightly clustered wire bundles. Watching the video makes me realize that maybe I shouldn't tamper with the truck's electrical system now that I see what's involved. One misstep and who knows what new problems are created. Seems to be good quality power steps though. Good video.

I purchased this same item for my 2019 Toyota Land Cruiser. I have not tackled the job yet but I know I have to do some modifications (bracket & shortening the length of the steps) my question is with the electrical, do you know if the wires I tap into on the Land Cruiser are similar to the tundra as far as the colors and layout?
I do not know, sorry. Best place to start would be to find a wiring diagram for both at the BCM and compare.
Do you leave the LED puddle lights as is or do you recommend heat shrinking them
The butt connector AMP send is a marine grade once you shrink it down. But, if you wanted to add heat shrink it's not going to hurt.
My steps are halfway up on the passenger line yours. My question is do they have to be all the way up or down or does it matter
It does not matter. The brain looks for when the motor starts to bind/ build resistance then it shuts them off.
What if all wires are connected correctly but the steps wont go down?
I would start by checking the fuse and then move to testing the wires in the cab for a ground ( - ) signal when the door is opened. I have had a bad connection on the little red barrel connector I showed in the video. The testing gets more in-depth from there. The best advice I can give is start at on end of the circuit such as a switch, fuse or signal wire and test down the line from there. Making sure the wires are not broken or grounding out due to a brake in the insulation.
What fuses dose it take
I believe its 30 ato fuse which is green.
Is there any chance that you guys will do the 2022/23 Tundra?
