Appreciate the thorough inspect, boys, I got one the other week and have been blown away as a first-time owner of a trim router like this - my collection was started primarily with estate sale gear and as I've progressed in my craft, I've learned about what advancements have been made in convenience and safety and it's like buying a whole world of possibilities for $59. Gate latch doesn't fit in the gap between gate and fence in the winter when the wood swells? This guy. Need to cut an arc for a custom shelf? Make the jig and make the cut with: this guy.
HF had a Bauer 20% off sale so I got mine for $64. I already had Hercules batteries so I bought a Hercules -> Bauer battery adapter instead of investing in ANOTHER Harbor Freight battery line. I think this is the most bang for the buck for a trim router, and a good compliment to my Bosch plunge router.
Hey, do you know if the hercules batteries have the low voltage protection circuitry built into the batteries as the Bauers do, or in the tool like dewalt? I have a dewalt to baier battery adapter, but bauer tools will cut out and act all wonky even with a fresh battery.
Hi Chris, we don't have one predrilled. I just used a the blank and drilled my own holes. He's the link www.makeawoodsign.com/shop/index.php?route=product/product&path=6&product_id=400
I went to Harbor Freight with the sole intention of picking one of these up. Between them not having them in stock and the total cost with battery and charger, I think I'll just buy another corded dewalt if I really need another router.
Have you seen any miss alignment on a bit when you lock the base? I got template rings for mine and cant use them as the bit moves off center when i lock base...
it looks like your router on the video is the same one I bought ;bauer cordless 21121CR-B, im confused as the base plate your using is made for the bauer corded 19121E-B..... Am I missing something, did you end up drilling holes or did it directly bolt on? @@oldave100
Thanks for the review. I will stick with the DeWalt. I would find the delay obnoxious. The depth adjustment is a deal breaker for me. I don't have much faith in the longevity of anything from Harbor Freight.
It's hard to say. If you're using the 1/4" spiral upcut at 1/8" deep, it doesn't last very long because you're cutting so much wood away. But if you're using the Carving Liner, it'll definitely last longer.
@@oldave100 I have the Ryobi but I can't get a bit to slide through the collet. So the bits stick out too far beyond the base. I need to see if I can buy another collet that may work. So right now, that router is useless to me.
HAHA I doubt you need too much encouragement. It actually doesn't give a horse power rating. It just says 20 Volt and between 10,000 - 30,000 RPM. But it definitely has enough power for what we use it for
Haha, since I was a kid I've always called circular saws "Skil" saws too. Fortunately my circular saw I've had for over a decade is actually a "Skil" lol. And anyone unfamiliar/new , you definitely want to order their baseplate! GAME CHANGER! I was half the sign maker/router until I finally got one on my router. Any router with a basic small plate change immediately to their plates (not a paid review lol). Woo Pig Sooiiee! Razorbacks!

HAHA man, they're freakin awesome tools!
Just bought that router.... you guys helped alot.... thanks will be buying that base plate....
Right on man👍👍
You've made up my mind for me. Thanks for the review!
No problem, Ron!👍👍
Love the review. Can't wait till the next SCOTD video. Have a great day
Thanks Jay! The next SCOTD will be up next week I think!
Awesome, I kinda want one now!
They're great little routers!
Thanks for the video! Will pick up for $59!
I'd check out our follow up video. It didn't hold up very well
Thank you. I always enjoy the tool reviews.
Thanks Carmen!
Very informative video!!! Be ordering my blank base plate from you guys soon!!! Thanks ❤️ you guys are awesome 👌!!!
Thanks buddy! We really appreciate it!

For $64, it's a killer deal! We've had a couple minor issues, but all in all it's a great deal!

Good demonstration, very informative! Looks like a good router.
Thanks Bill, it's a pretty sweet little router
I agree with Ryan about the on / off switch because my Ryobi is on the back and always a hassle to fumble with , especially if in a hurry.
Ya, it's kind of a pain to be honest.
How’s it discontinued? I just bought a corded one today from hf
I believe they brought it back, which is good because the corded Bauer is a pretty decent router
Thanks for the great review. Do you sell an acrylic base plate for this model?
Hi Chris, we don't have one predrilled. I just used a the blank and drilled my own holes. He's the link www.makeawoodsign.com/shop/index.php?route=product/product&path=6&product_id=400
Good review.....thanks guys!
Thanks Lori!
Pretty happy with mine, it is definite rely a good deal for the price.
I agree. It's a pretty good deal
I went to Harbor Freight with the sole intention of picking one of these up. Between them not having them in stock and the total cost with battery and charger, I think I'll just buy another corded dewalt if I really need another router.
If you already have the Bauer tools, it's a great deal. But when you have to buy everything all at once it can get a little expensive.
Just buy a dewalt to baur battery adapter off ebay.
Morning Eric.
Morning Mark!
Have you seen any miss alignment on a bit when you lock the base?
I got template rings for mine and cant use them as the bit moves off center when i lock base...
We did a follow up on this review, and honestly it's pretty cheap. The base has a ton of play in it so that might explain why that's happening.
How does this compare to the Makita and the Milwaukee as it looks like a combinations of those two?
Do NOT buy this router. We did a follow up and it really disappointed us. The FLEX, DeWalt, or Milwaukee are your best bets for cordless.
I got the corded one and love it also got the 29 dollar one and love it also.....but never get the battey one
HAHA a lot of people aren't fans of the battery operated routers
I think I remember Ryan saying the led lights quit. Is this so, and did you get it resolved?
One of the lights stopped working but not a big deal for us. Router still runs great.
Does your base plate fit the bauer cordless router model 21121CR-B? It stamped 19121E-B only.... Do I need to modify it? Thanks....
I'm not 100% sure. To be safe, you can get a blank base plate and drill your own holes
it looks like your router on the video is the same one I bought ;bauer cordless 21121CR-B, im confused as the base plate your using is made for the bauer corded 19121E-B..... Am I missing something, did you end up drilling holes or did it directly bolt on? @@oldave100
Sorry for the late respone. The Bauer Cordless router has a different hole pattern, so we used one of our blank base plates and drilled the holes.
Ohhh I'm tellin!! Where are your saftey glasses Ryan???😱😱😱
HAHA Don't tell my dad!
Thanks for the review. I will stick with the DeWalt. I would find the delay obnoxious. The depth adjustment is a deal breaker for me. I don't have much faith in the longevity of anything from Harbor Freight.
The DeWalt is definitely a better router. I love mine.
I wish you had a review with original pieces.
Sorry about that, buddy. We review tool for the purposes we use them for.
dont know if i missed you saying or you didnt talk about it, but what is the run time on a full charged battery
It's hard to say. If you're using the 1/4" spiral upcut at 1/8" deep, it doesn't last very long because you're cutting so much wood away. But if you're using the Carving Liner, it'll definitely last longer.
that's why most of my cutting tools ie chop saw, tablesaw are corded power, i leave the drills to be battery powered
Ya, there's definitely a give and take.
Just curious, is the Bauer red colored body casing made of plastic or aluminum? It looks plastic.
It's plastic, but feels really solid.
Nice job EZ E...🤘🤘🤘
Nice little router but don't bad mouth my Ridgid...lol
HAHA can't help it buddy!
How do I order a blank base plate?
Hi Kate! You can order a blank base plate (and a ton of other stuff) on our website makeawoodsign.com
It’s now on sale for 29.99 lol
I just bought one. That's why I'm here lol. Although I have watched these guys on and off for YEARS
Nice router review.....but I'm old school.....I still prefer corded tools.
HAHA thanks Frank! You gotta try em buddy, it's hard to go back once you've used the cordless
@@oldave100 I have the Ryobi but I can't get a bit to slide through the collet. So the bits stick out too far beyond the base. I need to see if I can buy another collet that may work. So right now, that router is useless to me.
Yeah, the Ryobi isn't the best. Try a new collet and see what happens
We the corded Bauer base plate fit this one?
Unfortunately, no. But the last video we did shows how to install out blank base plate on this one.
Good information ... but HOW DARE YOU to encourage me to buy another router ??? :) What is the rated HP of this unit?
HAHA I doubt you need too much encouragement.
It actually doesn't give a horse power rating. It just says 20 Volt and between 10,000 - 30,000 RPM. But it definitely has enough power for what we use it for

😂😂Thanks for the review, buddy!!
I just bought your base plate for dwp611 did you also cut the opening on the dewalt
Thanks Joseph! Yeah, we cut the back open on all of our routers except the rigid, because the rigid is already open in the back.

Did you actually go to Africa to get that?🤔
That's the only way to get it buddy! HAHA
