Wayfinder Echoes: Is the Game Better Now?
Вставка

- Today I'll be looking at Wayfinder. Or Wayfinder Echoes as it's now called. Wayfinder was originally meant to be an action RPG with MMO-lite elements. But after the Publisher suddenly bailed on the project it left the game in a bad position. In an effort to save the game the devlopers decided to pivot the direction of the game, stripping out the live service elements. So is the new version of this game good?

Thanks so much for coming back and checking out the echoes update. Totally fair feedback and review. 1.0 will have a whole new zone on the scale of Frostmarch... i hope you get to frostmarch, its an eye opening moment for the game... a new wayfinder, new lost zones, new weapons, new hunts, new armor sets, expanded housing and expanded multiplayer/lobby/potentially match making (investigating what is possible atm)
If you spent $150 on this game, you were helping to support the developer, along with the game. I bet most those people are happy that the game didn't just vanish. If it wasn't for them, that might have happened. Hopefully AS made the game better, and keeps building on it. I will be buying it, looks interesting enough.
Actually the publisher took all that money. Then dipped.
@@lukefollett3423 Exactly and the servers were their part of the deal as well seeing as they "know how to do it" complete joke of a publisher... Only know how to make overpriced cosmetic packs
@@lukefollett3423 feel bad for devs, I'm a sucker for the underdog, hope they find success anyways.
As one of those people, I am extremely happy to have supported the game in that way. I’m incredibly happy that the game hasn’t disappeared and is still around for us to play even if it has changed. I for one don’t mind it no longer being an MMO Lite because the MMO specks and grinding were so bad to begin with.
Great review, you definitely did your research on what caused the game pivot from an MMO-Lite into the ARPG it became. Also the reason why Digital Extremes dissolved their publishing branch was likely because they had a new CEO Steve who was promoted around that time. I discovered Wayfinder through Warframe so when that news came out I and many others felt a bit betrayed.
As someone who sank 250+ hours into the game and got the biggest founder pack, while I am sad about the game no longer being live-service, we got the best outcome from a bad situation and I enjoy the new content added in Echoes
Cheers. As soon as they pivoted to single player, I got interested. I'll do some more waiting and seeing, I guess.
Now that AS is free from DE I have faith that they can update the systems going forward
honestly compared to old Wayfinder, although i was mad at first because I did buy the more expensive version for venomess, as im a support main in most games and she was currently the only healer, i was still pretty upset, BUT and big BUTT i would have to say to all those who dropped the game, i would really recommend coming back to it just to try it, because frankly i was blown away with how much better it was. Mainly like you said the combat, the combat was so much better than in the original game it actually felt so fun to play. but yeah, definitely give the game a try if you bought the founders pack and are on the fence about redownloading it, you guys might have some fun, who knows.
Shocked to see this channel isnt way bigger. Came from the MVS video, good voice, presentation, and topics. Love the content, im staying :)
I'm really enjoying it so far. Kind of bounced off the game when it was an MMO but now that gear drops from enemies, Wayfinders are easier to unlock and the performance is much better (Still a few issues here and there) I'm having a blast with my Venomess.
Ark being on that list hurts. I loved that game
Please give this game a try guys and gals ! It will be worth it ! This devs have heart ! Help them overcome Digitales Extreme and the MMO past ! It will rise better than before !
I follow the game since release because i love the artstyle and the how the world looks but i had no time for another Live Service game. Saw that the game is now solo/coop 2 days ago and for 22€ i said lets try it.
I am now 9 Hours in and i love it. It is a mix of Diablo/Borderlands with a little bit of genshin in it. I love farming in games not only for items but for upgrade materials, i love that even if you are max level you still have a reason to kill mobs because of the paragon system aka talent tree. Hope they will get enough attention so maybe we get a dlc
I want to grab it but I’ll wait till 1.0
I liked brink. That aside they said they plan on revamping the game and doing what they can to save it and i can appreciate that and if it does well we could get optional coop and other things
New player 2 hours in. Yes world is a bit big. But combat is good fun so far. Lots of characters to try. Easy 50 to a 100 hour fun is my prediction. That's a solid experience for the money spend.
Question. I’m a founder on PS5. Do I have to pay for the new Game?
no
@@louiskitching8806 nice!
I don't think anyone should get their money back... that's the point lol You took a risk and lost. now you learn from this experience and don't pre order if you can't stand to lose the money. That being said. I agree with most everything you said. I wanted to enjoy this game but playing initially it felt so slow and laggy and I couldn't spend time pushing through it. they can increase the movement speed and it may help with the open world traversal?
I completely forgot about this game.
i just bought the game love the world
I remember playing brink when I was really young and liking it a lot. The game is not as good as I remember it being lmfao, definitely could've been good though
It feels a lot better than before. Played around for a couple of hours last night and had a far better time than before.
Worth another look for anyone interested.
if wasant for wuthering waves realese i would have been playing this it a shame online didnt work but is a realy fun game
The game was indeed "meh" and "ok".
Now they expect me to spend money on it, with just seven (very similar) characters?
I remember looking into this game and just thinking nothing interested me. I liked the art and I was a fan of the Ruined King, but I am really tired of hero based games, and I dont want an MMO where everyone looks the same.
Naw dude early access clearly states just about anything can happen and when you buy into that at 150$ you cant really get mad that you got finessed to begin with😂😂😂😂
Kinda? bro they changed the entire game to a sp /co op it's not kinda
I’m so tired of single player games. So dumb
How are you tired of single player games? A ton of online multiplayer games exist.
