The Ravenhead guy does a phenomenal job at playing Tucker karlsen lol
Tucker is much more charismatic than Ravenhead
Charismatic?!? Wut O_o
Thought the same thing when I watched it. Wish he ended with that confused look.
@@lorelaijunipeeer6638 yes, Ravenhead plays likea cardboard cutout. Tucker has personality.
Yep, he too makes 100% sense.
This is romans last big win episode and shivs big L. Next episode Roman is going self destruct on a level we never could think of
Worst than failed satellite launch? Lol
@@yohanespaskal9352 lol definitely worse
I feel like when the previews tease one thing they always swerve. So I'm expecting Roman to be mostly OK after 409, but we'll see.
Called it
wow
Roman was brutal this episode
With no repercussions too (so far)

@@Lampsadvice he's gonna have the worst fall and I can't wait for it!
Him and Shiv’s arguments really captured that frustration of arguing with someone who won’t even concede basic facts. “We just know” is the only thing you can even say to that, and it doesn’t get you anywhere.
This was as good as he got
This is why they never fired him even after the nazi stuff. He is incredibly good at his job.
Nazi stuff? Fake news bro his dog had different spelling 😂
He's just interested in that period of history that's all

Zack Robidas is doing a fucking incredible job playing Ravenhead, he has the Tucker Carlson impression down to a tee. This is actually the first time we see Ravenhead actually giving an editorial on-air, otherwise it's just been mentioned indirectly.
Nah Tucker is actually good at seeming charismatic and natural, Ravenhead is too forced
@@denverbritto5606ya that’s called laying out the agenda too on the nose
@@denverbritto5606 true, but it’s supposed to be somewhat satirical; have you seen how absurd they make the ATN headlines in the intros?
@@YungM.D. haha true those are so OTT
Ravenhead is more like Jessie Watters. A subservient scum who always has that snarkiness to him.
"And tell your son she's actually your daughter, or the other way around". These writers nailed it. This literally sounds like real life demagogues.
He's right though
Roman was on a war path this episode
Meanwhile Ravenhead was on the WW2 path 😭
ATN is falling apart at the seams. When Mencken was talking smack about Logan in front of him, Logan could probably sense the death of his institution looming
That's giving Logan too much credit. He was arrogant and throught he could save ATN, which was his goal at the beginning of the season.
Fiery but mostly peaceful fire in Wisconsin
The amount of detail and quality they put in a monologue that in another show could have been easily just a quick moment in the background is impressive. The 'daughter' line is pure gold.
Is he wrong?
Just realised Mattson says Greg is giving him info on this scene. Greg for new CEO.
I wonder about the odd number of conservatives who somehow became Succession fans and how they think about scenes like this
If they’re anything like conservatives The Boys fans, they completely miss the point
They make the show funnier to me. And there's plenty of stupid conservatives who love and don't understand this show. The more the merrier.
What’s funnier are the liberals who think this show is somehow entirely promoting their ideology and idiosyncrasies 100% of the time lol. This show is partially a commentary on the hypocritical and toxic nature of American politics, not just a criticism of conservative or liberal viewpoints. But when you’re in a cult, you tend to find any way to convince yourself that creative media is on your side 😂
@@Reaver1223 It isn't a "liberal" show, it's made by brit, why would he vote for the US democratic party? He is a leftist and the democrats are right wing, and as he is criticizing status quo elite media moguls liberals fall under that category aswell, so I agree with you. But don't go thinking that he is centrist just because he criticizes "both sides", nobody is ever on no side at all, when you think someone is at the center, it might be worth to try and change your perspective. Jesse Armstrong is certainly not apolitical, or one to criticize "both sides equally".
@@RenegadeShepard69 yea, my whole point is that it’s not a liberal show. Or a conservative one. I also didn’t say Jesse Armstrong is a centrist. I was only pointing out that a lot of uppity liberals seem to view this show as a club to beat conservatives with when there is just as much criticism and parody of left wing ideologues on the show too.
Even though it was fairly mentioned and alluded through all the show, seeing how insanely right wing ATN really is was hilarious and pretty fucked up, Logan and Cyd definitely kept it at bay somewhat and tried to give an illussion of centrism by doing "sad sappy shit for the people" but Tom (and the kids) dived straight into fascism and they are already regreting it lmao
Roman is the only one who hasnt but hes definitely gonna explode in the eulogy and ruin his one win in the series
Haha, for a second i thought you meant that Roman was the only one who __didn't__ dive straight into fascism - then I actually read what you wrote and realized my mistake.
I'm thinking that the end of the series might involve ATN getting dismantled / hit with a shitton of fines / otherwise scuttled, with Kendall ruling the ashes of Waystar. The big Wisconsin call seems like it might actually have legal consequences; ATN dying seems like it would actually fuck over enough of the main cast for it to fit the mold of a tragic end; plus it's Logan's favorite child, so its death being rationalized by Kendall as 'what Dad would do' - practically his mantra in these recent episodes - would be a fitting end to the series as a whole.

"Innumerate residuum"
I have to say: fire favor GOP is really a fantastic argument. Yes, it is misleading because if you burn the votes in a Democrat majority city, the "result" will favor GOP. Yet, in our common sense, fire will burn anything. By mixing "fire" and "favor", you start to feel maybe things are not that unfair. In fact, a nice slogan like: "Fire is fair", "Fire just burns", will be amazing when blocking any actions to revote.
#justfierythings #fierybutpeaceful 😂 😂 😂
This is one of those scenes that points out Shiv's biggest weakness. No empathy. She wants the Dems to win not because she actually gives a shit about democracy but because it works in her favour but she will never empathize with someone and offer them something. She just stabs you in the back when things don't go her way. Perfect example is with Greg in the same episode when she pulls him into the room and threatens him. She could've just offered him something and maybe he would've shut his mouth when Ken approached him, instead she pulls out her favourite tool. The shiv.
Roman never sees the error of his ways.
Even in the end.
Because he could help fix it if he wanted and he doesn’t.
Ravenhead seems more like a satire of Tucker Carlson if anything.
100%
to be satire doesn't it have to exaggerate the object being satirized?
@@TESkyrimizer satire is critique, that doesn't necessarily mean exaggeration. sometimes 1:1 parallels are the best way to serve the story's themes
Surprised that FOX hasn't offered him a job at 8:00p.m.

So will Roman and Ken simply become like Ewan and Logan?
which do you think would be ewan?
@@InvaderG Kendall, it seems. With the liberalism and all that
Roman & Ken don't seem to be at odds with eachother as much as Roman & Shiv though, if anything I think that Shiv will turn out like Ewan
The amount of people closing their eyes so they can pretend this show is simply a jab at the right is really concerning.
A heavy-handed parody of Stacy Abrams and her complaining
This is the best show.
Is it just me or does this Ravenhead guy sound similar to Tom? (Especially the "Yeah")
I thought it was tom speaking..
Someone needs to destroy Roman. It has to happen.
He's gonna destroy himself
0:35 the little “isn’t this funny” interjection is so spot on. Perfect recreation of a Tucker Carlson type without being straight up parody/mimicking
Rome was locked in, if he could stay like this he could be a successor to logan
I think roman should’ve been ceo, this episode shows that he will do whatever it takes, he also know his way around networking to get things done
This was the part of the episode and season that I didn't like. The political storyline is so transparently a stand-in for the real world 2016 and 2020 elections - Ravenhead as Tucker Carlsen, Mencken as Trump, Jiminez as Hillary - that it comes off as dated and almost a deja vu. We've all seen this before. This is also a confused portrayal of how elections are decided. They aren't decided by news networks whose viewers have been declining for years from competition with streaming and podcasts and tiktok. It's not as if ATN declares a winner and the govt says "oh ATN declared a winner, time to stop counting votes."
This literally happened. A news network literally called an election before it was counted and changed the outcome.
Mencken is NOT Trump though
I think you're missing a lot of the context other than Ravenhead being Carlson. (but also is Carlson even unique here? The segment Carlson occupied has historically been some of the most agitative segments on the network, Bill O'Reily etc etc)
They know that they aren't actually deciding the election but they are acting incredibly irresponsibly as a staple media giant to wilfully declare someone as a winner against the courts.
That puts an enormous amount of pressure onto the judiciary and already frought democratic institutions to try and convince millions of pissed off voters that the guy who really wants to "clean and purify America" isn't going to win if those ballots (by ATNs own prediction would have swung in favour of Jimenez) end up resurfacing or whatever mechanism that emerges to rectify that issue, if any at all.
It may not decide the election but it is incitement, agitative propaganda & forces the country into what is a severe political & constitutional crisis.
The writers of this show could satirize or dig up the spectacle of Trump but they have instead chosen a much more eloquent, ideologically motivated candidate.
That's the point, we know they don't decide the election and so did most people in the episode. They knew that all the burned ballots in Wisconsin would need to be done again and they're causing a giant mess by declaring a winner prematurely. They're playing toy fucking soldiers but with real-world disastrous consequences.
oh yh cause tht definitely didnt happen in the heavily contested 2000 us election...
The showrunner's politics really showed in this episode (and in the last few as well). I'm excited for the finale but overall I liked it more when the show was more subtle. For example Shiv being an obviously bad person while supporting liberal politics. This is something you don't usually see in other hollywood show instead of bad people always having to be republicans or conservatives. What they have been doing gives it depth and makes it interesting. What they're doing now is incredibly obvious, I don't know how many times they said how democracy is going to end, how people will get shot etc. if the republican will win. Adding to that this Mancin dude is literally the devil, not charismatic at all and acted so badly when he gave his speech at the end, sort of comical villain in a way "I just want to do something clean" *gives an evil smile to the camera*. No chance this guy would ever come even close to a lead in such a race. The obvious Trump comparison they're trying to do is incredibly brittle and misleading that way. Trump at least is funny and entertaining. Not sure why the showrunners had to push in a very clear political direction that way. I'm sure some liberals love it, because, you know, fuck republicans right? I wish the showrunners would have put the ridiculous nature of the current political climate into the show instead of backing it from one clear side.
Raven head is basically a Tucker impersonation but Mencken is nothing like Trump.
Mencken is an Xbox troll that’s been given power. He’s not an egomaniac or a billionaire reality tv star.
He’s just a guy who likes to troll people and wants to be entertaining. He doesn’t even care about winning and losing. He just wants a platform to troll and doesn’t care about the consequences
Mencken is a little over the line into fantastical, I agree. But I don’t think he’s a total stand-in for Trump. He represents a worst case scenario, like what some of Trump’s more extreme followers thought he represented, manifested in flesh and incredibly savvy too.
Also: the show has been pretty harsh on American politics in general. Even PGN’s owners are portrayed as money grubbing and two-faced. Gil makes backdoor deals with Logan, and Democrats make calls to ATN on election night to see if a deal can be worked out.
Shiv is still portrayed as rather unlikable in the episode which is where the dramatic conflict is: we’re rooting for Kendall to see she’s manipulating him, while also being aware that backing Mencken is a really bad move that will have ripples across the nation
@@YungM.D. Yes I agree. You're right that they're usually portraying it from every side, which is why this show is so interesting. This last episode kinda tipped it over the edge a little in my opinion. It feels like the showrunners want to say "Just so you know, this is what our opinion is, not that anyone is confused", I could be wrong though. Mancin sort of feels like what some liberals might think most republicans would want, which obviously is ridiculous. Maybe you're right, that they're just trying to do some end of the world scenario. It was just a little boring to have it - of course - be the republican who's gonna be the dictator type. Also the fact that his opponent has a mexican name is - to me at least - a little too much on the nose. I think the showrunners and the show is intelligent enough to know that that's not how reality works or how america has worked for the past 100 years. I'm still looking forward to how they'll tie it up...if they even find a way to tie it up. Maybe it will just be an open ending, who knows.
@@YungM.D. the showrunner said in the show's podcast that they are not interested in crudely aping reality but putting the cast in the dilemmas the characters may face in current news like events. Mencken was scarier to them in that he was eloquent and self composed.
And they talked specifically about how it's not the politics that are interesting but how these people capitalize it. Also, that for a family so removed from typical American life, this is how they reached down and touched the rest of us. And how curious it was their political stances merged or could be upstaged by their self interest.
The three siblings: Roman's political stance is obviously tied to his self interest. Shiv's is too but secretly so. Kendall is the person who actually goes against his true political persuasion because of both self interest and a reaction to Shiv where he personally feels betrayed by her
Basically, what does it take for this megacorp to do something unethical? Beyond profit, maybe something as simple as stopping your sister from getting her way. America didn't decide. A sibling betrayal did
“Fuck republicans right?”
Uh yeah pretty much

Show definitely is putting its agenda before plot and story
wtf are you on about. This show has ALWAYS been political. ATN IS a right wing news media corp. And shiv and kendall and roman have all expressed their disgust at it.
Logan himself says he'll feed bullshit to the viewers because its what they want. This show is not putting its agenda before the plot and story. Have you even watched the show?
Man didn't pay attention to any previous season
Common sense became agenda apparently...
Don't tell me Tucker has a constructive or valid viewpoint regarding Ukraine, his coverage was full of deceit and blatant mistakes... Taking advantage of out-of-context statements and being so sold to the Kremlin that every Russian TV channels have started publicly offering him a job. He should join them to be honest, he'll see why he was a nefarious person by just putting a foot in this mascarade of a country.
Its fiction, sit back and enjoy instead of letting your agendas spoil it for other people
Imagine being so stupid that you never realised for 3 straight seasons that this show was making fun of Republicans and Fox News.
