In the late 1980s I sold one of my illuminated sculptures, (which contained Art Deco-esque, stylings) to a young couple who owned an Art Deco bungalow, a single story house in Columbus, Ohio. They restored the 1930s house, and it was sublime from the interior to the exterior. It was a singular house on a street filled with conventional homes, not in the Deco style. They sold their house 20 years later, and the idiots who bought it, destroyed the Deco house, by converting to a conventional house. Gone was the stucco exterior, with the rounded edges, they added gabled roofs, applied flagstone, to certain exterior areas. It was/is an abomination. I have a few photos in my files of the original Art Deco house. One can't demand or require the new home owners to honor, the style of the house they are selling, which is a real shame.
@@lakegirl239 Exactly. Why would someone take a house that contained the most iconic Art Deco stylings, and ruin it. It had glass block windows, and the exterior corners were rounded, it had a stucco finish. It had Deco symmetry. I felt like crying, when I saw what the new owners had done to it.
Some things that enables revival of Art Deco: *) LED lighting. Art Deco is well known, in architecture, for their light play. With LED lighting, the effects can now be recreated without using too much electricity. *) Rebellion against cookie-cutter corporatism. Post-Modern & Minimalist buildings, originally looking strikingly original, had been built too many times they start to look like they came out of soulless corporate factories. Art Deco allows the individual to shine through. *) 3D printing. All those unique accoutrements, originally requiring highly-skilled -- and thus, expensive -- artisans, can now be designed and produced at lower, more practical cost. I'm happy.
A friend of mine has many Art Deco antiques, but she lacks a dining room table to match. I’m contemplating building one for her and I realized a CNC cutter would be perfect for repetition motifs.

NYC has quite a few Art Deco landmarks, and the buildings are timeless.
So Good. Thank you
keep the background music authentic to the period and this will improve the presentation.
Some of the furnitures are Bauhaus not Art Deco.
🎉❤ Shoooooww
Everything on a graph has its peek Art Deco is it maybe if you mix in some japinezz influences like Davi Bowie did you’d have it
Eye candy, all right, well, thanks. But this would have been SO much better even with only some basic informations.

And it's coming back with a bit of contemporary. I love Art Deco and Streamline Modern.
