No Bersa Thunder? No Bersa Thunder Plus? No Ruger Security 380? No Ruger LCP Max? What a joke of a list!
Bersa thunder
He showed the LCP Max two or three times but was referring to it as the LCP.
The Bersa Thunder is a great gun. I've had one since 2008. Never could get it to malfunction.
However, it's become largely irrelevant for me since a Kel-Tec PF9 came along two years later. Lighter, flatter, hardest-hitting, and using less-expensive ammunition.
For pocket-carry in .380ACP, it's either my Taurus TCP, acquired in 2017, or my LCP-MAX, acquired the day after it was announced in 2021.
@@Just1American1966 -- Interesting that neither the PF9 not the TCP are currently in production. Older guns, if properly maintained, still work just fine!
@@gregb6469
Yep. The old "if it ain't broke.." thing kicks in here.
If a 380 can't fit in your pocket then it's a thumbs down !! My two 380s are Ruger LCP and the Smith and Wesson Bodyguard
@ good choices. Do you have a preference? G43X is a keeper for me but too big to pocket.
Not me. Pocket carry is potentially fatal. Ex: you are driving or in your car moving or not. You need your weapon NOW. Or you are seated in a restaurant or anywhere else. Your pocket gun is NOT instantly available. Try it. Defensive carry guns belong on your belt. I have never understood the fascination of keeping a gun in your pocket, where it is as slow or slower to draw than in a man purse, or tackle box, or in an ankle holster, or any of the other silly places people carry.
I disagree. Not a fan of pocket carry.
I have another, different-caliber Walther that I like a lot, but I’ve never been drawn to the Walther 380. I understand your pocket theory-AND agree with it almost totally. With regard only to James Bond, I’ve NEVER seen him draw one of his Walther 380s out of a pants pocket. I would love to see Bond pull a Ruger Redhawk .44 mag revolver out of his shoulder holster and then quickly empty it into some bad guy who is trying to take control of the world. Man o man, that would be sacrilege to most “PPK-only-for-007” diehards…and it would freak out Walther and other fine handgun manufacturers in Europe.
@@michaelgibbs3011 You have some good points, but a pocket gun can also be a life saver. Mine saved me from being robbed and probably from getting killed, when I was in the mountains years ago.
I carried strong side on the job as a LEO, but the one time I need my gun to save my butt, it was my pocket pistol that came into play and did the job.
Ruger 380 LCP is perfect for me. Light weight, small, accurate, trouble free. Ankle holster makes it feel like is not even there. No weight to cause discomfort.
You're mentioning the Ruger LCP II, but NOT the LCP Max ?? Few years behind, think.
yep, behind the times. and the new Baretta 30x pretty nice.
Yup, they might as well discontinue the LCP 2
The best gun is the one you shoot well and conceal easily. Which .380 from the list is your top pick?
My Ruger LCP Max has been in my front-right pocket for months now. I forget its there it is so light and small. I got a couple of double-stacked 12 round magazines for it. It isn't exactly fun to shoot like my PSA Dagger 9mm, but it is accurate and powerful enough to handle any attacker. If you're struggling to find a good carry gun, get one of these, as you can ALWAYS have it on you no matter what you're wearing.
Facts
You some pretty big pockets. There is a ton of choices out there. The Max is great, but this was about size.
Mine went through 2000 rounds without a jam.
Mine jammed on the first mag.
Etc
Blah blah blah
2:30 The PPK is not just a gun, it is a work of art.
James Bond's original hg was a Beretta .25 acp not the Walther PPK.
And his Walter was a .32
The ruger security 380 is in my opinion the best 380 acp handgun
Nice pistol, unfortunately not a pocket pistol.
I've owned a PPKs and still own a Colt Mustang since the mid 1980's and i discovered while smaller the felt recoil of the Mustang was lighter than on the Walther which was larger and heavier.
I hav a 380 in tauro s and I love it for accuracy and light for carry. Never get jammed and looks great in Crome.very elegant pistol. Made 9 and 1.
I totally agree with you, the Ruger LCP Max is my gun choice for pocket carry… I don’t know why you didn’t choose that one over that just plain LCP.
Walther PPK you are out of your mind!
I have a ppk and ccp m2 9mm I have carried both but the ccp m2 I took it to my local range and while shooting my first magazine it locked up and the slide was stuck I could release the magazine but neither me or the gunsmith could get it to work . Sent it to Walther they said they found nothing wrong but used a rubber mallet and hit it to force it open Wow !
So now I carry a H-K Vp9sk 9mm .
Just got a Ruger LCP Max and I love it. 10 + 1 magazine and not much bigger than my LCP. Still fits in my pocket.
I have a PPKs & a Ruger Max. The PPKs is a dream to shoot. I love having 12 +1 with an extra 12 rd mag in my DeSantis Holster. That’s 25 rounds at the ready. The 365 .380 might soon be added. I have the 365 in 9mm also.
For almost a decade I've had an M&P Bodyguard that has served as a very nice deep concealment option when needed. It generally eats any round I throw at it and I'm able to hit well enough firing it...
I believe Bond's first choice was a .25ACP Beretta 418.
I'm seriously looking at the Walther CCP m2 380acp
What about the new Ruger Security 380acp ? To new for your review?
Do you have one, and if so do you recommend it?
I don’t think it’s a pocket pistol.
Taurus TCP- PT738 with a little tweeking' it has been Flawless for the last 6yrs. My model has the calking wings for weaker grip people!
You need to look at the Ruger Security 380. Light rack, high capacity, compact, light…
Ruger security 380 lite rack. . Just feed is smooth ammo. It doesn't like fiocchi. Bullet jacket is slightly too large
Interesting as my M&P Bodyguard doesn't like Fiocchi either. It has been *THE ONLY* ammo I've had issues with in that gun....
I have them all and love them
The 43x really hurt my trigger finger till i put a new trigger in it. Pyramid did the job.
Please review the Taurus 380. It’s great
Check out the S&W micro 9 CSX. Not much bigger than my 380 Ruger LCP, and carries 13 rounds. My all the time carry.
I own both the Bersa 380 Plus and the Rugar Security 380. Both outstanding.
This video failed to mention the Bersa 380 Thunderhawk.
It shoots great, easy carry in a pocket holster or hip. Its been my off duty choice carry since 2008.
What happened to the Ruger LCP Max? Supposed to be better than the LCP. Also my choice.
Very informative video. You gave good coverage on many of the best 380s. Ads throughout the video are a distraction. One suggestion: Put the ads at the beginning of the video and not throughout.
Everyone seems to skip past Ruger's LCP Max. Same as the LCP, but with a double stack mag, making it a 10 + 1. Its just a bit wider, but not problematic.
At 5:56 you mention a pop up tactile chamber indicator on Sig P238...this is inaccurate unless its maybe a California model
all good pistols though I'm particularly fond of the spartan version of the sig 238 but the seven hundred dollar price tag is a budget concern for me right now⚛😀
And they discontinued the Legion model in the P238. Wish they’d bring it back! 👊🏻
You talked about Ruger LCP but when you showed the pistol with the magazines they were LCP Max magazines. When I went back and looked it is actually the LCP max pistol in the picture.
I agree on the magazines those are 380 max magazines. I went back and look at the pictures and all of them just said LCP. I did not see one that said LCP Max. I have the LCP Max and the LCP. Max is better.
When discussing the Ruger LCP, you managed to show all three varieties of the pistol without mentioning anything but the basic, original LCP. If you want the higher capacity LCP Max, it will run you close to $400. If Ruger were to drop any one of the three, I wouldn't shed a tear to see the original go bye-bye. The LCP II has better sights and trigger group.
Browning makes a very nice 380 that is thin and has enough barrel length to squeeze some actual performance out of the 380 round
Ruger has two .380 acp pistols that should have been included: The LCP Max with 10-round and 12-round magazines and the Security 380 with a 15-round magazine and 10-round magazine.
Shocking you missed the SW 380EZ. Easily a top 1,2 or 3. A great gun shoots like a 22 and it's SW.
A Ruger 380 has been here for years. Where have you been?
Because unending gratitude is what we all live for?
In this video I waited for the new 2024 models, but only see 2023 or older models
The Ruger LCP 380 hurts my trigger finger but the Glock 42 feels just right.
CZ83 or Astra A60 best by far.
Except maybe for the Beretta, none of these will tempt me away from my SIg p232.
The music doesn’t match the vibe of the vid guys!! Please don’t use it anymore!
The original Bond gun was a Beretta. M made him change it in the first movie
Bond is .32 caliber PPK!😮 Not available in the North America!😮
My pic is the Ruger LCP Max 380. Do not know why that’s not on your list. It is better than the plain LCP.
U to
Kahr P380
Why report empty weight? I don't know anyone that caries an empty pistol. I guess just for comparison with other pistols, but, what's an ounce here or there?
Short 9mm… no matter what your choice is… they are good guns but I wouldn’t think of going any less
😂CLICK BATE‼️
I carry for years kel-tec p3at no problems whatsoever.
Good job! I liked your list . I wish those professional commenters ,living in mom’s basement ,would go back to their on line games.
people who expect one hit to suffice, after first pierciing a car, are living in a dream world. You'd better figure on having to hit him in the chest, several times. Most attacks are not made with a gun and the range is normally 10 ft or less. So it's very easy to hit him 3x in one second. Liberty ARms 9mm ammo recoils so mildly that i can hit a man 4x in one second, at 10 ft, cause the first shot is not part of the tmed-event. .17 second repeat hits are not that hard to get. 4 such massively destructive and shocking hits, before he can even fall to the first one, is highly likely to render him very dead, on the spot. When they are dead, they ARE stopped, folks.
I don't understand the title of your video. All of these guns have been around for awhile ... and your dream conceal carry is finally here?
Click-bait.
They retitled an old video cuz it's all about production with this channel
Ruger and S&W
another advertisement video
I was lucky getting one of those last keltec p3at little gems.
One hand gun maker to stay away from is Sccy. Mine went off out of battery destroying the magazine, just got it back from warranty work. Left my ears ringing , scared the shit out of me.
The Lcp9 is the same size and that's a 9mm.
THERE'S STILL NO 380 THAT IS THE EQUAL OF MY WALTHER PPK!
"... it has an overall weight of 4 1/4 inches "
Your primary concern with any 380 should be barrel length. It’s not a hot round to begin with and it’s important to maximize the ballistic energy. For this reason I will only carry a 380 if the barrel length is at least 3.3” and longer is better. There is one exception, if the top priority is concealment above all other factors, I will carry the S&W M&P BodyGuard 380. But only when concealment trumps everything else. Otherwise, I don’t even carry it as a backup. It’s the least accurate gun I own and it has a horrible trigger. But you can’t beat the concealment and the reliability is rock solid. In 6 years of owning this pistol I have never had a failure to fire that was not ammo related.
Capacity has never really been an issue for me. I carried a 5 shot J-frame .38 Special for years as a backup. So any 6+1 semi-auto has enough capacity for my needs. If you can’t buy enough time to swap mags after firing 6 or 7 rounds, you’re probably in over your head anyway and should be carrying a 15+1 9mm.
I know people who only carry a .380 as their EDC. And the most common that I see are;
1: BodyGuard 380 (by far).
2: M&P SHIELD 380 EZ.
3: Ruger LCP
4: Glock 42
5: Walther .380
6: Security-380 “Lite-Rack”.
This list is by no means a ranking of the best, it’s just what I see the most of, in the order of popularity. I should note the Ruger Security-380 hasn’t been out that long and it is selling like crazy, dealers can’t seem to keep it in stock. I drove 90 minutes to buy one and the dealer sold it 15 minutes before I got there. If the pace continues, I can see the Security-380 jumping to the top of the list within the next year or so. As for the best 380 on my list, I’d have to go with the S&W M&P SHIELD 380 EZ with the grip safety but minus the optional thumb safety. I’ve shot every gun on this list and the 380 EZ has consistently been the best performer. But the price needs to come down. It’s a $400 gun currently selling for about $530 plus tax and background check.
Do not rely on these statements
General Patton's "social gun" was a .380.
I carried a nice small .380 back up when I was on the police department. Couldn't even really feel it in my pocket .
The cover picture of this video shows a Ruger pistol that, to the best of my knowledge, doesn't exist. Then, this video goes on to dub a CG voiceover across other people's reviews. This is lame as Hell.
380 factory ammo has to be wussy-loaded, so that't safe to fiire in 100 year old simple blow back designs like the Walther PPK. The 50 gr, 2000 fps,450 ft lbs of power possible ina pocket 9mm using liberty arms ammo, is watered down to 1500 fps, 220 ft lbs in 380 and probably wont expand the solid copper hp in lung tissue. Animal tests prove that the 9mm Liberty Arms 9mm hp is a BAD mofo, like a 4'" barreled 357 Mag revolver with125 gr jhps., but with no more recoil than a Makarov That ammo makes a pocket 9mm WAY more effective than a 1911 .45 full of 230 gr jhps, which do NOT expand in flesh, only have 350 ft lbs and waste at least 1/3rd of that "power On the far side of the man. The liberty arms bullets never exit a torso And they tear HELL out of the first 6" of flsh, while the base piece penetrates 8-9". Plenty, way superior to normal ammo. All you have to do is not shoot people in the butt as the crawl backwards at you and you wont need more penetration than that.
I've seen a P365/380 with 15+1rounds. Your review listed a 10+1 capacity, WTF??
WOW !!!
People Call Keltec junk, then praise Ruger when they rip them off as “game changers”
S&W makes shield that dominates and this guy lists Glock 42 that showed up several years too late
Pretty sure sig ripped off the colt mustang but I’m sure someone can google that.
The gun community is an echo chamber of copied opinions that are based on misinformation.
Sounds like a.i. voice. Bad. 😂
I owned a CCP you can't shoot too many rounds before it gets so hot that you can't shoot it. Bad design
I don’t understand why guys use single stage guns for deep concealment. If u buy a 1911 for conceal carry and don’t train to either rack the slide, drop the safety or rack the hammer back you are going to die in a bad situation! The stress of the situation you are not gonna be able to shoot it because muscle memory it’s not there.
I can't listen your manner of speaking for any real length of time. I wish you well.
This channel just steals other channels video and does automated voice over. I would wager that the creator has never touched any of these handguns...
Geek fishing for views with an obvious lack of knowledge on the topic.
Sig overpriced average 🔫 pistols
BS cut and paste vid with computer voice.
This guy is clueless.
This must be written and produced by a democrat, or a ATF agent, someone who knows nothing about firearms
Can't even enjoy gun video without politics being brought up. Sad.
If .380 is your dream gun for conceal carry, you clearly don't know what you're talking about. 9mm or 45acp have stopping power, .380 does not. Even 38cal is a better option
It will clean all the boogers out ya nose…😂😂😂
This brings up an interesting subject. How much gun do you really need for a possible only once in a lifetime occurrence (if you're lucky)? What size, caliber and number of rounds? How much do you want to carry?
How big, heavy, uncomfortable size gun and how many rounds and what caliber?
What are the most and documented needs and circumstances for needing a gun on the street etc?
How many perps will typically accost you? How many shots will need to be fired either at home or on "the street"?
How many lifetime occurrences might you go through of needing a gun and using it? How much documentation is there for the actual and "typical" confrontation of needing and using a gun in so called real life? Enquiring minds want to know.
@@garyreams8123 If you ever need a gun once, to defend yourself or your family, you will have your answers. Although the worst gun might get the job done, when it happens to you, you will wish you had the best, bigger, better or more capacity, once you have time to think about it.
I served at two different departments as a LEO. I never had to use my weapon on duty, but I did have to use my concealed handgun to prevent two young men from robbing me many years ago when I was in the mountains, in the middle of nowhere. I was on vacation and had dropped a derringer in my pocket, which of coarse only had two shots(times were not as bad back then😉. It worked for me that day, thankfully, but you can bet I was wishing I had a larger pistol/revolver, with more rounds, once I had time to think about it.
As a LEO, I carried my 45 acp duty weapon on my strong side, a S&W 38 air-weight BUG under my duty shirt and a NAA 22 mag mini revolver in my front pocket, as a get off of me gun.
I also had a Remington 870 shotgun and a Ruger Mini-14 in my patrol car.
Imo, better to have it and not need it, than need it and not have it.
Even as a civilian today, I often still carry a BUG and alway carry at least one on me at ALL times.
I hope I never need to use a gun ever again for protection, but just in case I am prepared.
Any gun and any caliber is better than no gun. Small pistols/revolver and small calibers have their place for concealment, recoil, ect, but carrying the best and most powerful gun you can, realistically, can be comforting.
I carry different pistols/revolvers at different times, in various calibers.
I still prefer 45 acp, 40 S&W, 357 mag, when realistic to carry them.
I do however carry 380 acp and 38 spl at times and carried the NAA 22 mag mini-revolver many years as my BUG, but have discontinued it in these meaner more evil days that we now live in, for something better, imo.

I WON'T CARRY NOTHING LESS THAN 9MM!!!!!! 380 IS TOO WIMPY!!!!!
Ask archduke Franz Ferdinand 2 rounds 380 in 1914 ended him and started WW2
380 aint wimpy do your research
