This video I will show you step by step how to make this Easy crochet blanket. Time Stamps below:
Material List
Red Heart Super Saver Ombre (4) Med weight yarn. (10 oz/ 283 g/ 482 yds/ 440 m) per skien:
6 skeins # 4933 Green Apple or color of your choice
crochet hook size I-9 (5.5 mm)
Afghan measures 52 x 63 inches.
To change the size of the afghan use the stitch multiple of 4 plus 2. End the pattern on an odd numbered row.

Starting chain: 3:42
Row 1: 5:01
Repeat for Row 1: 6:33
Row 2: 9:55
Repeat for Row 2: 12:11
Row 3: 16:59
Repeat for Row 3: 18:25
Rows 4-124: 21:53

I made this blanket, and it took me 5 months to finish it.
Glenda, I too have used super saver for years. I remember when it was red heart coats, and Clark, and it really was rough then. I have found that if I put my crocheted or knitted item in the dryer with the dryer sheet, that yarn becomes nice and soft and squishy. I really get tired of hearing people put this work horse down. I have noticed over the past six years red heart has made super softer than it was before.
I have Afghan that I have made decades ago and they are still looking good. Super saver is almost indestructible. And the cars are wonderful. I especially enjoy the stripes.

It’s a really unique pattern
TIP: If you're a few chains short of what is needed, go into the last chain and chain what is needed with the yarn tail. It works, I've done it numerous times.

I am working on this pattern using Bernat Pop Ebony and Ivory. I ran short on yarn, so had to order more. When I finish I will post a picture I love this pattern and it looks good with the self striping yarn

Mine came out about 51"x61" using Caron Crystal Cakes, in Starry Night, used about 4 1/4 cakes. And it is beautiful!!! A housewarming gift for my niece and nephew. Thank you!!!
