Personally. i would have told the customer to clean the thing before they sent it for repair. Or billed them for the time wasted cleaning it . (my pet hate) 😂
I guess they didn't know that the drill isn't supposed go in the bucket of mud for mixing it
As always, good work. Listening to the customer is usually the right thing to do. Does help in diagnosis. Not always though as you show.

rule no 1 in tool repairs, customer is always wrong 😅
It seems like telling the client to use only furthermost rotating part of that devices to mix is a proper way to use it.
How on Earth do you know what it is? Did they drop it in the bucket?
Come on guys,clean your equipment,how you make your living. Only take a few moments to wipe it clean!! Pure laziness!!
That's a shame... how can anyone be that disrepectul of their tools and the guy that has to fix them...
put some putty or sth on the screws for this customer.

How can people let their tools get like this!? It's heart breaking to see people abuse their livelihoods like this...
In fairness these old bosch drills and the new refina mixer both thrive on abuse.
