Soldier Boy is shown to have an AK shoot him in the mouth and it hurts but he isn't damaged by it, same with Homelander feeling the pain of being burnt alive without his skin being scorched in the furnace.

He goes toe to toe with homelander without blinking till butcher tips the scales, Those aren't the actions of someone faking it but rather the actions of the real deal. Maybe the real details of what he's done might be different than the stories but he most certainly isn't a poser or a fraud just a broken man like homelander but different and they had to try to tear down his actions in order to make room for homelander perhaps.

I was diagnosed with severe PTSD, the kind war veterans have because it was like growing up in war, I had to be constantly afraid of being attacked and killed. I was disabled and my mother believed the disabled should be euthanized. Of course she worshipped Robert Latimer. I can't completely identify with Soldier Boy but they do get it very spot on for his personality type. My personality type makes me extremely docile for the most part. I've never really wanted to kill anyone including my abusers, I just wanted them to change for the better. Sadly most people are beyond help. They crave power at any cost. It's called social advancement. I am proud I am a loser.
