Pause, play, skip, go back, pinch and swipe to change volume, it all works pretty great. The mic does sound better than the buds 2 pro, but I am not very impressed with it either. It's passable. Pretty much the only reason I upgraded was for the pinch controls. I would wear my bud 2s often, and would find myself constantly accidentally pausing my content while I was working on my car or crawling around under desks at work. My shoulder comes up and touches my ear a lot while I'm doing stuff, and that was enough to activate the tap to pause function. Then I would tap to unpause, only for it to not register and me have to try again, sometimes leading to the buds registering an unintentional double tap. The pinch function is much more usable and consistent. However, if you are walking or running and actively using the pinch feature sometimes your steps line up just perfectly to make your fingers do an unintentional double or triple pinch. It's hard to explain without using the buds yourself. Overall, I'm pretty happy with them but I'm not sure I would have paid full price either.
@xenthoxin yeah! Absolutely you can use them one at a time. I have had a couple software glitches when using it that way, where you put one ear bud away and it doesn't automatically switch the stero audio to come out of one earbud. Pull both Bud's out, putting them in the case and taking them back out fixed it
@@j-sizzler5897 The ambient audio is, if I had to guess a numerical value, 1.8-2x better than the buds 2. Directly compared to the buds 2, in the ambient mode I can barely hear the fan I have turned on across the other side of the room. With the buds 3 pro, I can hear it very clearly. The ambient sound in general sounds more natural on the buds 3 compared to the buds 2. Less robotic and less processed. Talking feels pretty standard. I am wearing them as I type this out, and when speaking at a normal volume with ambient sound turned on I can hear myself talking clearly, though it is slightly muffled compared to the earbuds being removed. I would say about a 5% reduction in the volume of my voice, so nothing drastic at all. Talking feels good and there's no weird latency or anything like that. Another point I'd like to add is that I can get them to fit much faster than the buds 2. With the buds 2, I'd put them in then have to twist them back and forth until it sat just right in my ear, and I would often have to readjust them, regardless of the ear tip size I used. The buds 3, for me, intuitively fit in the ear much easier. It's a very small thing, probably only saves me 2-5 seconds compared to the buds 2 but it's something I noticed right away. I stick them in, give them a little wiggle, and they're good to go.
I've had the same small issues with my Buds 2 Pro. So excited to receive these. Nothing is more annoying than when I only have one earbud in, can't pull my phone out for some reason (hands full/dirty or phone in another room) and it registers a double tap and skips the video I'm listening to lol
FYI, you're definitely not using the full capacity of these buds. Using a S20, you don't have ultra wide band voice call, uhc audio along with other audio quality feature. For now only Z Fold 6 and Flip 6 support it. But it will come to S23 and up later, with the August update.

Why Samsung?! I have Samsung Tab and Samsung phone but because I use different account on my Samsung tablet as it is family tablet, I cannot seamlessly use both of them. My other multi-point earbuds work actually much better.
I like the benefits of more electronic real estate with the stems. But my current Buds2 Pro are one of the best designs I've used for wearing with a motorcycle helmet. Stemmed ear buds just don't jive with a helmet. With ANC on, I've eliminated almost all buzzing in my ears post ride. (Yes I can still hear honking, and other road noise. Just cutting out the loudest part that's under my butt). I can also listen to music. With ANC on, the volume is barely higher than when using the buds normally. I can not even hear my Sena or Cardo on the highway, not to mention all I am doing is adding MORE sound on top of the engine instead of blocking it out. Buds2 Pro are peak design for my specific use case.
I have the regular Buds2 and I like that they are very small, lightweight and don't have stems. I can wear them when I sleep or listen to music in my bed because I tend to lie on my sides and earbuds with stems aren't as comfortable in these situations.
@sehabel That makes perfect sense. A helmet is comparable to laying on your side, head on pillow, and pillow on the other side of your head as well. It just fits right in.
11:58 If you pair Buds with any other device (ex. Nintendo Switch) then every next time after pairing all you have to do is just select the Buds from the devices' settings and then the Buds will switch automatically to that device. It's not as seamless as when switching from Samsung phone to a Samsung tablet/laptop but at least you don't have to pair buds every time when you want to use them with other device.
Shortcircuit reviews from James on earphones used to be good, he missed out on so many details that I don't think there is any value watching these videos. A list of things, I would have liked to see. - Showing the companion app and settings available - Complete the entire fitting phase using the earbud fit test - Microphone with ANC on and off, compare that to buds 2, airpods - Better yet, compare everything to Buds 2, or Airpods on a lot of these features - Underwater dunk test - Charging, do they support quick charge, charge duration from 0 to 100 - Can they connect to iPhones, laptops even if not multi-point connectivity. - The labs graph for ANC could use work, just tell us how it performs in terms of decibels outside and if the equipment can hear that noise with them passively in or not.
Don't want to take anything away from this review but I wish people who review headphones could even quickly talk about the codecs and use the best one (this case samsung seamless codec) to get the best result and show where to turn it on (Bluetooth settings for these) and an app that shows you playing and supports HQ and lossless tracks. Just my 2 cents, don't hate, just constructive criticism and what I would like to see added in future videos
as much as the stems look stupid they are the best design in a lot of ways. they are by far the most comfortable have the best touch controls the mic is closer to your mouth and are just weighted better. they aren’t perfect they definitely fall out easier and look kinda stupid but the stem design really does make sense
With the design, there can be many better. For secure fit, those that wrap around your ears are the best (eg: Jlab sport). For sound quality, a lot of designs work well (it depends not on design but on driver quality and then codec support). As for mics, I never had any problem whatsoever with non-stem style tws's. As for comfort, stem style can be comfortable for sure, but so are non stem ones I have used in the past whether it be Samsung Galaxy Buds Pro or Jlab Sport or my present tws which is Yamaha TWE7B. Stem design just looks absurd ...
@@Hari-kx2er I’ve never tried any earbuds ever that come close to being as comfortable as AirPods Pro because they don’t go inside your ear they basically just float in your ear instead of being jammed in there. And even if you don’t notice a difference the mic is better. Yeah the only massive downside is how they stick out so they aren’t the most secure
I have two pairs of galaxy buds2, and I am pleased with the sound 360 feature but the mics are behind. I like watching movies on my TV with these ear peaces and 360 gives very nice sound.
Have you done Stem+silicone? I ask because I've owned every single non-bean Gbud and I would have said the same thing after trying Airpods. But i tried out the soundcore liberty 4 NCs and honestly aside from the stems catching on clothes when changing I actually felt like they fit roughly as good as the Buds 2 which for me were the only Gbuds to actually fit since the Buds+ I ordered B3pros because of that but we'll see. Im still pissed off that Galaxy made me wait 2 years for a pro bud, then completely abandoned every innovation they've made in 8 years.
100%. The whole point for me was that people on video calls wouldn't notice I was wearing them. When I saw these, I went and bought a new pair of bud2 pros on disco before they're discontinued.
Apple stick to their own lane and don't talk shit on others. Samsung made fun of the notch and the lack of headphone jack and yet ended up doing the same thing as them.
I miss the design and fit of the Galaxy Buds 1 and Plus, the wings really helped keep them in my ears. My Buds 2 fall out all the time... but between the new features, the ANC, and actually the new off buds gestures (which I think are really cool) I'm not going back to my old Buds 1.
Good product, I hope these push Apple to improve the sound quality in AirPods Pro 3! Planer drivers (like these have) perhaps? BTW, it's really stupid that the Bluetooth standard doesn't support seamless multi device switching. The only non-proprietary things I've tried are EXTREMELY clunky, switching usually takes several seconds. Hope they add that to the next Bluetooth version.
I'm a Samsung/Android user. My thoughts are "copying" is fine (We all know both companies look to one another for inspiration) so long as it's for practical purpose and not just trying to look like the other. And I gotta say, even though I did kinda groan when I first saw them, these buds 3 pro are just flat out better in every single category than the buds 2 pro. They're more comfortable, sound better, and the stem provides better controls than the old buds. Also every video that has compared the mic quality has them totally smashing the buds 2 so the stems helped there as well.
@@stephenpatterson8056 I moved from Buds 2 Pro to Airpods Pro 2nd gen and the stem design for controls is definitely the move. I liked the look of Buds 2 Pro being kinda low-key in your ear, but those tap controls were super garbage.
@derkaiser9881 If you're still at all in Samsung's ecosystem (phone or tablet) the buds 3 pro I could personally highly recommend after a week or so of ownership. They provide that airpods level experience but obviously for Samsung. I am in that ecosystem and the way it does the seamless switching and provides full control and feature set in the app is great. I know some people have had some issues and sales have been paused. But I really hope that doesn't stop people from trying them.
@@stephenpatterson8056same here. You can ALMOST extend that experience to the PC too by installing the Samsung Account and Galaxy Buds apps from the Microsoft Store. The Buds can be a little hesitant to switch to the PC sometimes (not as fluent as phone to tablet) but it works well enough! So far, I've been really pleased with my Buds3 Pros!
I haven't had a pair of Samsung earbuds, but Ive been intrigued by some of the designs. Probably one of the few that liked the look of the Beans buds. These look pretty good, and I agree that the stem look was likely done to try to improve the mic and aspects of anc. The mic wasn't great, but to be fair LTTs filming sets are echoey... So that might be slightly hard to overcome by those tiny mics. Ill give LTT's videographers and editors credit bc they do a great job making the vocal reverb inaudible in basically all their videos
I have been a Samsung Beans (Galaxy Buds Live) user for four years now. I bought them because I really enjoyed the design, but ergonomically it's not a great shape. Whenever you drop the case the buds spring in two directions across the room, since the case is square you can't really tell what way to open it in the dark and because of the shape it's not obvious what way they are supposed to go in the case. Again, especially in the dark. I really think Apple has done extensive user testing when designing the pods and that they concluded that the stem design in combination with the case just made sense. I don't love the shape of these as much design-wise, but I think these will be more usable.
I am so mad that I didn't know these were coming out. I just bought Airpods Pro 2 for use with my Samsung S23U last month. I love the design, feel and sound of AirPods and couldn't get behind anything anyone else was offering. I don't care that these look like Airpods, because that design works well for me. These buds 3 are basically for people in my exact predicament, I'm gutted I missed out on them!
Given more buds/'phones have some sort of Transparency/Adaptive listening mode, it'd be cool to see a graph how each mode compares to "not wearing them". I compared Transparency for my Galaxy Buds Pro with my wife's Airpods Pro and the difference was night and day!
My complaint about this video is that using something like UA-cam Music isn't ideal for testing audio quality since UA-cam Music doesn't utilise audio quality as much as services like Apple Music or Tidal.
Personally I kinda get behind the shape change. One of my biggest problems with the Galaxy Buds lineup was the weight distribution. They always felt like they were going to fall out of my ear, so forget exercising, I couldn't wear them without a hat. Having a stem is something I always wanted, and even considered buying a pair of AirPods for.
Paired these with Pixel 5 and iPhone 11. The Samsung Gear (Wear) app, which allows for fiddling with settings of the buds, is only available for Android. You may pair these with iOS and retains the important functions even without the app - long press for switching modes, swipes for volume control, multiple presses for skipping back and front. I’ve had questionable longevity with Airpod Pros (unreliable less than 2 years) so hopefully these would be better for iOS. I don’t need ALL the bells and whistles of Samsung integration.
Could you please demonstrate the microphone’s quality with background noise during the test? With my current earbuds, even the slightest movement is picked up, making it impossible to talk without everyone hearing it.
The Labs testing of ANC is awesome - would love if you could run that test against others and overlay so we could see how it compares against AirPod pros for example (as they are consider best in class for ANC)
Nah, im sticking with my buds plus. They have the wing that keeps them in great, they are smaller, the case is smaller, they are super easy to crack open and replace the battery. I think it's probably even easier to replace those batteries then the batteries in a modern phone. I just feel like besides ANC and probably a better sound, they are a borderline downgrade from the buds plus i currently use. Just replaced both batteries and the case battery and its like they are new again, and ill probably keep doing that.
The whole point of the buds for me was that people on video calls wouldn't notice I was wearing them. When I saw these, I went and bought a new pair of bud2 pros on discount before they're discontinued.
as someone who daily drove the pro 2's having the controls on the stems are objectively better. i was always accidentally pausing and triggering the touch controls on the pro 2's and never had that issue with my airpods/other stem variant buds. the only reason im not using them now is cause they went through the wash accidentally... whoops they lasted a good 2 years though and i was happy with them. main issue was the samsung version of find my was completely useless, couldnt even find them when they were placed 1m away from my phone
The design of the buds2 pro and all before it, i feel, is what made samsung unique in the earbuds market. They weren't like every other earbud out there. They stood out for being different.
I'm pretty bummed about the delay but I'm glad they are working to fix it ASAP rather than just apologizing for it in the future. I ordered some and thought the delivery date was July 28th because I just glanced at it and knew the release date was supposed to be this week. Was pretty sad when I looked closely at my order and saw the estimate delivery date lol The only wireless earbuds I've ever had were Samsung so I'm curious about how I'll like the new design
I will say, having had these for a week now, this design is significantly more comfortable than my buds pro 2, and the new case design is easier to slide out of the little pocket. The stem also makes touch controls easier to use, you can also pinch anywhere on the stem.
Wow, these seem to be damn near no-compromises (which they'd better be for their flagship price). I have a pair of TOZO T12s which I got for $40, and they're decent, but not great. But they've got some major perks that made me go for them like an IPX8 rating and a case with a full percentage readout for battery. These are the first flagships I've seen that almost close the gap for IP rating, though I'd still like a more granular battery indicator.
My buds + still work great and the edge double tap is great for folume. Just tap the back of your ears twice. It's pretty cool. I'm sad they don't have that anymore.
After having been accustomed to multipoint Bluetooth, the lack of this feature is such a dealbreaker. It's almost unbelievable for a flagship product to not support it in 2024.
12:00 everything stated here is pretty misleading. The ability to seamlessly switch between devices on buds2 and buds3 is available on Samsung, as they support Microsoft swift pair and other features natively. After the first pairing setup, all you have to do is select the buds on the host device, no setup necessary after pairing. No, they aren't trying to "lock you into their ecosystem".
I wanna note this is the only reason I really liked the buds2 over other devices I've used in the past, because I don't need to manually disconnect other devices before connecting to a new one.
Personally my left ear doesn't fit well with the Samsung bean design, either bass is less powerful or it's inserted very painfully in. I hope this design solves that cuz other IEMs don't have that problem for me
I love the new Samsung Buds. I like the design. And, its made to be able to fix it easy at a service point if for example the battery has problems or the like. Apple don't do that. Its not nessesairy a bad thing to copy elements of eatchouter that are good design. As long as you try to improve and push it a bit and come with your own adaptation.
I was using Galaxy Buds since the first Gen then the + and the 2 Pro. Every time kids or fife wanted buds I gave them mine and got new ones hahaha. But I switch to iPhone about a year ago and got Air pods Pro 2. And can say at least for me the stems make them much better for usability and handling. So to my eyes it's a good change.
I like that Samsung doesn't seamlessly transition between phone and laptop, with my Bose and Jabra that do this, if I am in a meeting on my computer and i get a phone call, it switches to the call and I have to stumble for probably 10+ seconds to resync to my laptop.
upgraded from my airpods pro 2 to these and they are amazing. much better sound, especially with vocals. and they switch between devices a lot faster. helps that i have a galaxy s23 to go along with it. fits better in my ears and lasts longer than the airpods too
@@YouLose haha no worries. i have an ipad and mac too that i quickly switch between as well if that helps. i don't keep the "automatic switching" on so since i don't like the feature. i just connect from one device to another & the buds 3 pro is significantly faster in that regard
Could there be more detail in the commentary on the passive isolation/ANC test. It just gave vague description of numbers on graph with 0 comparison to other earbuds or what type of noise that would be IRL. And what do they sound like vs other earbuds? It's like "they sound good but have overcooked bass". Ok but vs like, 20 dollar earbuds, 50 dollar, 100 dollar, same price range? Like these cost $249.99 and no sound or ANC comparison with anything?
Would definitely like to see the non-pro version since I can't have in-ear headphones. No matter the brand they always fall out. OG apple wired headphones always fit like a glove in my ear. If I could have a wireless pair that fit like that from Samsung I'd be happy. Problem is I can't just try them on and see.

Can you use them 1 at a time? nobody talks about it...
@xenthoxin yeah! Absolutely you can use them one at a time.
I have had a couple software glitches when using it that way, where you put one ear bud away and it doesn't automatically switch the stero audio to come out of one earbud. Pull both Bud's out, putting them in the case and taking them back out fixed it
How is the ambient audio and the feeling of talking with these in? And how do those compare to your buds2?
Nothing is more annoying than when I only have one earbud in, can't pull my phone out for some reason (hands full/dirty or phone in another room) and it registers a double tap and skips the video I'm listening to lol

what features and why would they require a modern phone to work?

Stems look goofy imo.
I'm sticking with my Buds 2. They work well and fit well. Like the stem design overall though.

Shortcircuit reviews from James on earphones used to be good, he missed out on so many details that I don't think there is any value watching these videos. A list of things, I would have liked to see.
- Showing the companion app and settings available
- Complete the entire fitting phase using the earbud fit test
- Microphone with ANC on and off, compare that to buds 2, airpods
- Better yet, compare everything to Buds 2, or Airpods on a lot of these features
- Underwater dunk test
- Charging, do they support quick charge, charge duration from 0 to 100
- Can they connect to iPhones, laptops even if not multi-point connectivity.
- The labs graph for ANC could use work, just tell us how it performs in terms of decibels outside and if the equipment can hear that noise with them passively in or not.

Just my 2 cents, don't hate, just constructive criticism and what I would like to see added in future videos
Great first look! Wished the mic sound quality was better, but overall good option for people.
James I got your Kung Pow reference. Bring back they're just movies! Even if it's in like video essay format instead of podcast. (Or both)
as much as the stems look stupid they are the best design in a lot of ways. they are by far the most comfortable have the best touch controls the mic is closer to your mouth and are just weighted better. they aren’t perfect they definitely fall out easier and look kinda stupid but the stem design really does make sense

I have the original Buds, and they've been great. Switched to Between 3 ANC recently and they've been fantastic.
I have two pairs of galaxy buds2, and I am pleased with the sound 360 feature but the mics are behind. I like watching movies on my TV with these ear peaces and 360 gives very nice sound.

i daily galaxy buds+ and buds2 i loved the no-stem design. these having a stem is a genuine deal breaker
Have you done Stem+silicone?
I ask because I've owned every single non-bean Gbud and I would have said the same thing after trying Airpods. But i tried out the soundcore liberty 4 NCs and honestly aside from the stems catching on clothes when changing I actually felt like they fit roughly as good as the Buds 2 which for me were the only Gbuds to actually fit since the Buds+
I ordered B3pros because of that but we'll see. Im still pissed off that Galaxy made me wait 2 years for a pro bud, then completely abandoned every innovation they've made in 8 years.
100%. The whole point for me was that people on video calls wouldn't notice I was wearing them. When I saw these, I went and bought a new pair of bud2 pros on disco before they're discontinued.
agreed, stem design seems like a step backwards
I've loved my Buds 2 Pro so I'm curious about how much I'll like the stem design
Great video SC team! Just a heads up, the link to buy the buds 3 pro in the description just leads to the LTT forum.
they support 24bit 96 khz when used with device that have one ui 6.1.1 or above
why do people get so annoyed when someone copies apple but support it when apple copies others?
Because Apple never makes fun of Samsung like how Samsung makes fun of Apple every year since 2008
Because Apple doesn’t mock another company and ended up doing the same thing.

I own the regular buds 3, and I love them. I had gen 3 airpods before this, and I find the features on the buds 3 incredible.
The stem allows a button that doesn't involve pushing or thumping the bud into your ear, as well as length for volume swiping.
Oh boy, i cant wait to read some civil comments from both samsung and apple fans! :)
Most Apple users don’t care about android users, but most android users REALLY care about Apple users. This is unique to North America.
5:50
That tap did something crazy to my earbuds.
Wait… no A B mic test with the older buds? Wasn’t that the question in the beginning of the video?
That was so dumb... I don't understand why they did not do that
And ANC graph means nothing to me without another comparison product.

These buds 3 are basically for people in my exact predicament, I'm gutted I missed out on them!
block rockin' beats???? god i love you james
Given more buds/'phones have some sort of Transparency/Adaptive listening mode, it'd be cool to see a graph how each mode compares to "not wearing them". I compared Transparency for my Galaxy Buds Pro with my wife's Airpods Pro and the difference was night and day!
the stem designe always fit better in my ears then the one that don't have stems
Please do comparison. I have no idea what the ANC cirve compares to earpods, or how was the mic improved

7:25 I have seen that. And now, you will, learn, WHO DA BEST.
My complaint about this video is that using something like UA-cam Music isn't ideal for testing audio quality since UA-cam Music doesn't utilise audio quality as much as services like Apple Music or Tidal.
The eartips and way they’re removed being an exact copy is really funny.
I would LOVE to see that ANC graph having more comparable products on it for comparasion!
i wish they had kept the old casing. Its worked so well across their whole lineup.
7:18 Open da mouth! Maybe James' favourite Carpool Critics episode?
The neck position sensor is so good. We need more of that
3:01 that's an interesting color choice
The cmf buds had exceptional mic audio.
They explained it in the comments later
That was the phone's microphone not the buds
Could you please demonstrate the microphone’s quality with background noise during the test? With my current earbuds, even the slightest movement is picked up, making it impossible to talk without everyone hearing it.
7:25 I actually just had to show some of my friends Kung Pow because they'd never seen it before. As soon as you made the hand motion, I thought of it
The Labs testing of ANC is awesome - would love if you could run that test against others and overlay so we could see how it compares against AirPod pros for example (as they are consider best in class for ANC)
7:27 As somebody who actually has the DVD for it and watched it so many times at some point. Yeah I understood that reference.
as someone who daily drove the pro 2's having the controls on the stems are objectively better. i was always accidentally pausing and triggering the touch controls on the pro 2's and never had that issue with my airpods/other stem variant buds. the only reason im not using them now is cause they went through the wash accidentally... whoops they lasted a good 2 years though and i was happy with them. main issue was the samsung version of find my was completely useless, couldnt even find them when they were placed 1m away from my phone
The design of the buds2 pro and all before it, i feel, is what made samsung unique in the earbuds market. They weren't like every other earbud out there. They stood out for being different.
Are you using the same target for IEMs as well as over-ear headphones? IEMs usually require more bass
Is Blue for left and Orange for right a portal call back maybe? Left click/trigger was for the blue portal and vice versa
07:21 Literally the second he said Kung Pao pyramids, I got it.
The stem controls are just plain better. I have weird shaped ears so I constantly have to adjust buds which makes touch controls a nightmare
Do you have superglue on your fingers or something? You don't need to slap it
I'm pretty bummed about the delay but I'm glad they are working to fix it ASAP rather than just apologizing for it in the future. I ordered some and thought the delivery date was July 28th because I just glanced at it and knew the release date was supposed to be this week. Was pretty sad when I looked closely at my order and saw the estimate delivery date lol
The only wireless earbuds I've ever had were Samsung so I'm curious about how I'll like the new design
I'm looking forward to the full review
I will say, having had these for a week now, this design is significantly more comfortable than my buds pro 2, and the new case design is easier to slide out of the little pocket. The stem also makes touch controls easier to use, you can also pinch anywhere on the stem.
Multy point connectivity being samsung only is a HUGE deal breaker
Wow, these seem to be damn near no-compromises (which they'd better be for their flagship price). I have a pair of TOZO T12s which I got for $40, and they're decent, but not great. But they've got some major perks that made me go for them like an IPX8 rating and a case with a full percentage readout for battery. These are the first flagships I've seen that almost close the gap for IP rating, though I'd still like a more granular battery indicator.
My buds + still work great and the edge double tap is great for folume. Just tap the back of your ears twice. It's pretty cool. I'm sad they don't have that anymore.
stem's good for battery and antenna as well as the aforementioned mic practicality
After having been accustomed to multipoint Bluetooth, the lack of this feature is such a dealbreaker. It's almost unbelievable for a flagship product to not support it in 2024.
I like how much more like AirPods they look in the little animations they show for the controls lol.
never mentioned the clear talk thing for Samsung phones, from what i have seen its pretty effective
Why test it out in Yt music?! You need a better quality streamer for that HIFI to kick in..also the codec supports better in a samsung flagship..
I always preferred the fit and hold of a stem design.
As much as im going to miss the touch controls on my buds2 pro, I need a dedicated pairing button for the sake of my sanity
upgraded from my airpods pro 2 to these and they are amazing. much better sound, especially with vocals. and they switch between devices a lot faster. helps that i have a galaxy s23 to go along with it. fits better in my ears and lasts longer than the airpods too

OMG, a Kung Pow! reference. You're not wrong about it though.
