IMAGINE BEING SO GOOD THAT JEFF HEALEY HIRES YOU AS HIS GUITAR PLAYER. THIS GUY IS JUST INCREDIBLE AND DESERVES ALL OF HIS SUCCESS!
Yes, not much better accolades than that ha ha 💪🚀
The GOAT.
Also the most visceral concert I’ve ever been to.
Standing right at the front in London and seeing/hearing up close was a once in a lifetime experience.
My ears are still ringing…
Yessss 🎸🚀❤️
philip is one of the kindest people, and one of the best living players. fucking love him .
100%!!! ❤️
Just marry him already
100% agree. How can a guy who's that good be that nice a guy? If I could play 1/100 as well as him, I sure wouldn't be talking to commoners like us! : )
00:38 - The way that lick was edited in with the backing track is amazing!
I love Phillips playing. He goes all in. He is the definition of Texas/Hendrix style blues. A true modern legend.
Uhh no, you would be thinking of SRV... Sayce is pretty much a clone of SRV. Look at how he's dressed and plays. It's super cringe and not original.
@@kennethnick3213dude stfu, u obviously never heard any of his music, just hating cuz he’s better than u 🤡
Absolutely the best show I have ever been to! You are 100% correct, live is an experience.
Totally, absolutely mind blowing 🤯 🚀
Dude, this is unreal. The production value, the sound, the experience, so cool to see. My generations Stevie no doubt. Thanks guys!
Thanks so much for taking the time to say that! And yes, indeed, what a legend 🚀❤️
Nicest Superstar on Planet Earth. Thanks for hosting Philip. Respect that he love his PRS as much as his priceless Strat; pros bring the right tool for each job. Thanks again Y'all.
Sayce is an ace. What a great player. Awesome tone and lots of passion.
3:33 Philip would have a killer kick foot on drums! ;)
You guys managed to convey the anticipation, excitement and all around total baddassery that Philip Sayce brings to a show! As the young Brit said, "there's nothing like seeing him right in front of you". Philip plays LOUD and he has 10 tons of soul. And he's one of the the nicest guys you'll ever meet. He is the most exciting guitarist I've ever seen and I've seen SRV, Tom Morello, Joe Bonamassa, Billy Gibbons, EVH & Vai.
This was my first Sayce live experience and i was lucky enough to be front row in front of the man. Mind f#@*ing blown!!!!
Too old to have seen Hendrix or SRV live, but I saw Philip at The Garage in London and I reckon that’s about as close as you can get in 2023. Clearly a lovely guy and an absolute monster of a guitarist
My thoughts exactly!! ❤️🚀
Every interaction ive ever seen with him...he seems to have that quality very few people have...like your the most important person in the room when hes talking to you. Great guy
I saw him live here in Italy last July for the first time...and he blew both my mind and my heart. He's sooooo amazing!
That’s amazing to hear, such a beast 🚀🎸
Great video guys. We were at the gig, stood right where you where fiming by the look of it! Have to agree, it was one of the very best gigs I've ever been to.
4:53 when he hits that low e then kicks on the fuzz WOW! 😁
Thanks for that video of a magical evening! Such a player and tone master. Loved it , @Philip Sayce
Thanks so much for the lovely comment as always mate. Really was a magical evening!
What a great video to see thank you so much. I saw Philip in London in November and it was one unforgettable show. Absolutely incredible guitarist and an awesome band.
Thank you so much! Yes, what an absolute incredible experience the live shows were 🤯❤
Great attitude, very thankful for all the support he is receiving, very refreshing
100% - coolest dude 🚀
Seen him at the Manchester show, it was incredible. I don’t know whether or not it’s just copium on my part, but I’m still reeling from it. Very inspiring. Bucket list stuff Hope he’s back very soon. Great video, guys.
Yessss ❤❤❤
A great power trio !
100% 🚀
Brilliant video lads! Looking forward to the gear rundown now. I'm still on a high after London. What a gig!!!!!!
Jimmy!!! Thanks so much mate. We feel the exact same haha 🚀❤️
I can’t tell you how much I appreciate this. I never even heard of this guy in Colorado… scorching guitar player. Definitely going to be checking out some of his material and thank you so much for posting this.
Saw him last summer in my home country the Netherlands that show was epic. I really understand what you guys saying about his energie his playing vocal everything was just spot on and beyond 🔥
That’s amazing, 100% agree ❤️🚀
Blows away the competition
Could hear him running through the pedals from outside- now it makes sense!
Haha that’s ace!! ❤️🚀
And the magic formula is...?😊
It’s INSANE!!! Absolutely & utterly INSANE!!! It’s MORE INSANE than all other INSANE videos! INSANE INSANITY it is!!!
One thing I would love. Like bucket list item would be to get to see Philip live, and to bring my American made strat along with me. And if Philip wasnt absolutely overwhelmed with people or busy in general I would love nothing more for him to sign the back of guitar head above or to the side of the serial number. And then if he would be so kind to let me record him play a quick sick mean lick on it, like really lean into it, dont be afraid to pop a string or anything. That would be an absolute dream come true. And a bucket list item checked off, my list isn't that long or big.
Philip Sayce Is the best rock blues guitar player ever!! Period
🚀🚀🚀❤️
He is by far one of the nicest guys and so humble!
Thank you Pedal Pawn, for turning me on to Phillip sayce a few days ago. Thank you.
P.s. your tone and playing isn’t so bad yourself.
( those Hendrix tones you get).
And Phillips Hendrix tones too
Phillip is an absolute monster player. I’m excited for the rest of his new album to be released. The first couple songs sound great. I’m also a huge fan of pedal pawn and I own most of your stuff. Great video, thanks.
Totally, his album is going to be mesmerising! & Thanks so much for that support, really appreciate it 🚀❤️
@@PedalPawn voice texting did a really bad job on that one. I just realized and hit the edit. It was supposed to say I own most of your stuff. Great pedals!
Thank you for the uploads, Lads. Sayce is a madman on guitar
Thank you for saying that mate!! And he sure is 🎸🚀❤️
If Jimi and SRV had a baby - it would be Philip.
For a time he was my favorite as well, sometimes it was the Terry Bollea (Hulk Hogan). I really enjoyed watching him.
RIP Warrior!
I was at The Fleece for this gig, his performance was off the scale, he's a mix of so many great players but in his own style and i believe just one guitar all night, that trusty old Strat............AWESOME !!!!!!!!!!
Totally, what an incredible gig 🚀❤️🎸 hope to catch you next time to say hi 👋
@@PedalPawn I thought my CS Rory Strat was worn, but compared to Philips, it's mint 😂😂
Considering Philips playing throughout the years and the fact that he’s a former guitarist for *Jeff Healey* - IMO - he’s one of the only players entitled to a display like this.
Representing 🇨🇦🔥
🔥🇨🇦❤️
Love Philip Sayce!
Wooooo! ❤
Whoa. I'm liking this!
I was fortunate enough to make it to Philip's gig in Manchester. Wow. What a player, seriously.
I can completely understand where you guys were coming from on the debrief at the end of the video. Stage presence, playing and tone made it one of the best performances I have ever seen. Incredible.
I was wondering what the micro pedal was on PS board? (Has the mixed colours on).
Awesome comment, thanks so much for that. That is a true bypass looper - which takes the tube screamer in and out of the chain, full rig rundown coming this next Sunday 🤗🎸
Incredible ❤
I wish he had his silver sky to hear what he had to say about that.
Great job guys ❤
Hi, Philip did use the black Silver Sky on one song in London... and it's featured briefly in the Pedalpawn rig rundown coming soon 😉✌️🚀
@@paulg33 oh man that’s so great to hear. I some some videos and it’s almost relic already 😂😂😂 do you like the ss? I can’t decide between the ss and the 61 American vintage…
A cross between Stevie Tay Vaughn, and Robin Trower...with a bit of Jimmi thrown in...excellent...
Personally I’m a big fan of Philip; I’m still trying to chase his tone without robbing a bank 😂 should be posting a Morning Star cover on my channel very soon 🎸
That’s awesome, he really is incredible!! Nice one, can’t wait to see the cover 🚀🎸
@@PedalPawn hopefully you won’t be disappointed (not the best sound quality unfortunately) 🎸🤘
@@TheBluesGuitarGuyI just subscribed and hit the bell.. can't wait to hear
@@jeffunderwood6235 thanks mate 😁 won’t let you down! Should be on Saturday
New for me¡ Blow my mind.💃
P. Sayce fan here. Great video boys!$
Awesome mate! And thanks so much
Caught 3 of the shows. It was another level. Also managed to get in to the sound check at Leeds. Selling the ev cab?
Amazing stuff mate!! Sadly, there’s no way we are able to pry that cabinet away from Paul hands 😂😭
Awesome video guys
Thanks so much mate ❤
i was at the front row of this show, boy did he not dissapoint! absolute king of the instrument, and made us all at home. oh the irony!
100% 🚀🙌
Crak Total¡ Super guitar Heroe!
One of the best ever to pick up a guitar. Even when he was with Jeff he shone.
Dude, nice video! I am huge fan too. Sweet footage. Thx!
I can't believe I missed him, he was at the Cluny in Newcastle literally just down the road from me I'm gutted. Lovely bloke absolute beast player 👍 on a side note you can always tell a great performer because there live stuff is better than recorded ❤
Was Phillip ok during sound check? He seemed a bit wide eyed at some points, at 8:00 he was saying he was feeling out of it. Maybe a dose of jet lag. He played superbly as always though!!
So rad! He’s one of my biggest modern day influences, l go see him every time he plays in LA.. nicest cat ever 🔥🎸🔥
Couldn’t agree more on both points. So glad you get to see him in LA a bunch 🚀
10:13
"how's your sustain ?"
PS : "yes"
😂🙌❤
I think I'll get a Fender Twin Head !!!
😅😎🔥
🚀🎸❤️
He plays hard
10:14 how do you get a sustain like that on an electric guitar?
wow ts 9: Gain 80%, volume 100%, tone 100%
Kr Mega Vibe still in use... I would happier if he find something less rare and expensive but as good...
The extended wah/feedback was making me get my ugly on! Thanks bro!
Me too 😂🙌🚀
No mistaking this guys influences...
Which concert was this played at very awesome!! aberystwith is such a awesome song that solo at 10:13 is so powerful like jimis machine gun at filmore
Good to see Captain Jack Sparrow come out for the event! 😂
Who does know what happened to his black Silver Sky he played a time ago regularly?
Hi, the black Silver Sky was Philip's back up guitar on this tour... think he used it for 1 song... brighter sounding 🚀✌️
More information on that coming on this Sunday’s video 🚀🎸
great to see how far phillip has progressed as a player. last time i saw him live was with jeff healey at the shepheards bush empire on the get me some tour. phillip was amazing then but another level now. he had amazing schooling alongside jeff in those early days. his tone now is unbelievable and he makes playing the guitar look effortless which really pisses me off😂.
😂💪❤️ thanks so much for that comment. Philip is the guy indeed!
the lick at @12:30 is insane. is that original or does that originate from somewhere??
❤🔥❤️🔥
❤️🎸🚀
I’m so happy you guys got to meet and listen to Philip Live! He’s such a wonderful person and killer showman!
Just think about all that Jimi started .. !!
☮️ ❤
filmed in the same fashion as Stevie's soundcheck in his hat and leopard print overcoat.
Woooo! Yess 🎸🚀
@@PedalPawn Good job guys! I am as obsessed with Sayce as you guys. He deserves all the attention coming his way and more.
OVERPLAYER !!
Well i am old enough to have been able to get to see srv live at Williams and mary college here in va.i live in Virginia beach it was an absolutely incredible show this srv all over again reincarnated i do believe both just wondering human beings as well
That fucking note at 10:15🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🤟🏻
good luck getting that amp back ....lol
What is the name of that lubricant spray they used on the wah in the end? The dudes comment about deoxit removing lubricant has got me curious.
There is a general one used in the motor electronics trade which is just as effective, but a lot cheaper than the (Often) overpriced music industry...
It is professional standard circuit board cleaner called..
SERVISOL..
Motor vehicle tech guys will know the best place to purchase WITHOUT getting tagged by the usual (RIP-off) spiel. ❤🎶 🎸
With the WAH, it is removing dust from the potentiometer tracks, whether linear or rotary.
If the pot has got too oxidised, it nay have to be replaced, with Siemens or RS standard replacements....
AVOID 🎶 music shops like the plague, they ALWAYS overcharge for electronic repairs...
Standard electronics guys, that can fix older TV's, Stereograms can often fix amps just as well...
If you're looking for the Dumble tech level, you must have access to Joe Bonamassa or Carlos Santana's bank 🏦 account...
Just talking about more modest amps, up to around £5-10k tops.. ❤
That was awesome
Thank you so much for watching 🚀❤️
He seems to play a little faster with his Liverpool boots on!(Beatwear Beatle-tan).
His tone is so rare and so unique and his soul really comes thru in his playing. This was the most up-close, intimate look at his tone that I've ever seen. Spectacular video!
Incredible, thanks so much for that, and we were very honoured to have the time to spend time with Philip in this capacity 🚀🎸
His tone isn’t rare! It’s SRV’s , Jimmi Hendrix’s and many others who came before him!
Does anyone know what song is? 10:05
Aberystwyth
The world needs another SRV / Jimi clone like a hole in the head. That said, PS is the best one. I think even John Mayer, Robin Trower and Doyle Bramhall II would agree. Love the drop D tuned stuff he does. This kind of music should be kept alive no doubt.
❤
🚀🎸❤️
....my Master! ⚡🎸.....of stratocaster ;)
🚀🎸❤️
Better than john mayer tour??
#nevaaskip
5:16 ass cracking tones some things can't be unseen...
Was supposed to see Philip in Boston earlier this fall but he had to cancel shows that week... been itching for him to reschedule the show!! Will be my first
Definitely watch him if you get chance next time mate ❤️🚀
Mate, was Paul eating a full lettuce??😂
In all seriousness, the shows were all insane. I can’t believe it’s been over two weeks since. It was like a tornado blew through and wrecked the place…🌪️⚡️🤯
He’s a very strange man indeed 🥬😂❤️
1000%! What an absolute game changer 🚀
what spray did you use? and what's the difference between it and deoxit? Thanks!
I’m not sure as that gent wasn’t part of our crew, but I believe it was ‘fader spray’ 🎸
@@PedalPawn Thanks for the info. I'll check it out. Love your pedals (got your original fuzz and texan twang without lights and octane on my board.) Looking forward to more great videos.
Was the guitar even on in the foh pa? 😅
Not sure, but either way, there’s no way you’re not hearing Philip 🤣😝🚀
@@PedalPawn I'm genuinely curious being a guitarist (mostly functions) and sound engineer i see both sides, the tone is undeniably amazing I'm just wondering what the stage sound is like, spill in the mics and the overall volume in the room 🤯
Almost sounds like Randy Hanson. Likely already know each other if Phillip Sayce has been around long time. Frank Marino mahogany rush, Pat travers, uli jon Roth, Randy Hanson know each other and let each other know where to play ( people who like heavy English blues ‘Hendrix’). Like Hendrix those guys don’t just play blues, They can play Christmas carols when they feel like. Earth shattering screaming Melodie’s. Shawn lane is closer to these guys musically, than someone like Paul Gilbert. These guys influenced Paul Gilbert.. ‘if you don’t get it’ listen to ‘Once upon time in the west’ Shawn lane. Or The ‘world anthem mahogany rush’. And Hiroshima by uli jon Roth. Scream romantic melody’s, Piercing the ears as ringing of nose produces blood.

Well, did he buy a pedal???
Philip does have and use some of our pedals which is certainly an honour ❤️🚀
