M 1000 XR /// 4K onboard / RAW

I had the opportunity to try out the brand-new BMW M 1000 XR as part of a test ride and would like to share my impressions with you.
First of all, it is noticeable that the machine is very comfortable and relatively high - for very short people it might be difficult to get their feet on the ground.
Visually and tactilely, the BMW makes a high-quality impression, which can be expected given the superb price.
Overall, this motorcycle is pure superlative. I also like it much better than the naked bike, the M 1000 R, which is already too sporty for me.
The riding behavior of the M XR is likely the best in this class by far. An incredible precision combined with insane stability. It is particularly noteworthy that the M XR seems to crave the 200 rear tire in my opinion. I have never experienced this with any other motorcycle. As a result, it feels to me like you are bringing additional stability to the machine through the rear brake. Simply great. There is just nothing to complain about. BMW has delivered a fine piece of engineering here!
The engine is also a highlight, but clearly oversized for country roads. As seen in the video, I couldn’t even fully rev it out. The power is sufficient for a four-cylinder, but other concepts make more sense to me on country roads. In the end, this is probably a matter of personal taste. BMW has also done an excellent job with the rough motorsport sound while keeping it socially acceptable. The excellent engine is complemented by a superbly working transmission with an almost perfect quickshifter.
The excellent and very powerful brakes from Nissin are always up to the powerful engine and, in my opinion, do not have to hide behind Brembo's Stylema.
BMW has brought a dream crossover concept to the market, which can even compete with sporty mid-range naked bikes, although these bring significantly less mass. However, I would not see the M XR on the level of power nakeds. For many people - myself included - the machine will unfortunately remain a dream due to its extreme price.
However, I have found a very good alternative. The Multistrada V2 S from Ducati. Right away, this machine felt the most similar to me. Of course, it is not as perfect as the BMW in the end, but considering the price difference, it comes surprisingly close to the sportiness of the M XR and is even a bit more comfortable.
