@@bmwmotorrad that wheelie past everyone was super cool , but i think the ultimate sports tourer would be a all new replacement for the legendary bmw k1300s , if somehow bmw managed to package the amazing 1600cc 6 pot into a k1600s now that would be something or even a 1300cc version of the 6 pot would make for a very special bike indeed

different. The mxr is in a league of its own in the bmw range anyway
Unless you have ridden round that circuit yourself you cannot truly appreciate how bumpy that road surface is, I ambled round 70mph and still had to wrestle the bike to keep it under control. Peter's doing twice that. I have nothing but the highest admiration for TT racers. That XR is dealing with real world road surfaces.
Dream machine. Would love to take one around COTA and hopefully own one in a couple of years.

Honestly, by unleashing this bike’s capabilities through your videos, you (CR) have done so much for the XR over the years and allowed many owners and future owners of an XR to witness first hand it’s capabilities. You would be an exceptional brand ambassador not only bc your very capable but you kind and good hearted person as well. BMW if your listening, give this man a bike and a modest tire and brake pad budget and let him produce content. Better yet let him mod the bike and attend track day events so others can meet and greet. I’ve run across many track day participants who speak of his exploits even on the East Coast and the guy hasn’t even been out here! Nothing pleases BMW riders more than seeing Cuban Rider storm pass the liter bikes especially the limited badge numbered red ones 😂.
Peter Hickman was crazy spectacular this year at the TT and is making his mark in history, record's that seem impossible to break.
All the best success to you Peter and BMW Team.. He didn't get there alone...

Herbertson and Rutter were on BMW's and they finished 9th and 10th respectively and Hickman's team mate Josh Brookes finished in 5th place. I'd say Peter Hickman's success has more to do with his overall skill than the fact he's on a BMW.

This is truly what I hoped the XR would be from day one. The same powerful s1000rr engine but with an upright seating position and wind protection.
Looks an absolute riot !! CubanRider has a UA-cam channel, he's stupidly fast on his S1000XR - make sure he gets this bike and you'll sell ship loads 👍👍

I currently own a Ducati Multisrada v4s and have just returned from my annual trip to the TT I just haven’t enjoyed the Multi as much as I thought I would.
I have owned in the past X2 BMW GS Adventures and for me I am going back to BMW as soon as the M100XR is released for sale i’m having one.

I still prefer the ///M1000R tho... I even prefer the non-competition pack ///M because those carbon wheels, most tyre shops won`t touch them, and i`m not that good of a rider to notice the difference between forged and carbon

im putting a deposit down on one. If it can be factory lowered like the s1000xr and has a fix/solution for the vibrating handle bars then I will accept delivery.

Hi Paul, the BMW M 1000 XR Prototype will come with the RR engine, ShiftCam technology and over 200 HP. More information about the bike will be released in the second half of 2023. 🙌

Will it corrode and fall apart when it sniffs rain like my Gen 2 S1000XR followed by customer service so slow the next ice age will be here before I get a response...
I currently own the S1000XR model 2022 (forged rims), but nothing corroded here, come rain, come shine.
What corrosion do you mean?
@@marcos.1771 Mines a 2020. 3k miles non forged wheels. Corrosion on front wheel at brake disc mounting points, corroded swingarm, corroded maintenance free M chain.
Sump, front light, rear light and oil cooler have already been replaced under warranty for corrosion or water ingress.

Before my current model 2022, I owned the model 2020, but no corrosion here either.
Did you ride your bike on salted roads in winter?
I did apply ACF-50 here and there on my bike by using a paintbrush.
But I don’t think that was really necessary, because I never noticed any corrosion.
Was the cause of the corrosion identified on your bike?
@@acaister I have heard many histories of bikes corroding very quickly, meanwhile I never experienced that (and I have 80k km of touring in all conditions), nor any BMW bike I saw in my country. My bet is the salt in the streets. I live in a third world country and government has no money for salt.

From the footage it is clear you need to offer a better steering damper OEM.
Why? The steering wobbles to follow the road. He didn't crash and it didn't slow him down.
Front wheel seems to wobble at high speed.

Quite irresponsible promotional video from BMW Motorrad for not warning viewers of the safety implications of this riding style done by a pro pilot on a closed road with a MC likely tuned and prepared by professional mechanics.
It may encourage future buyers to emulate the same riding and be the cause of fatal accidents.
I think it's obvious he's a pro and the rest of us aren't
