As a gay guy who from London, born to immigrant parents and just turned 20, I'm voting for Reform UK too! Seeing someone else with the same views made me feel so validated. Most of my friends are voting Labour and think I'm terrible for supporting Reform. I wasn't even parading my political leaning; they asked, and now they think I'm contributing to the country's demise. There are too many "woke" people in my friend group, and it shows they are conditional friends. I even avoid talking about politics to prevent clashes and just enjoy the friendship aspect.

I’m not a Reform or Conservative supporter but I don’t think there is anything particularly virtuous about your friends voting Labour either!
One of the problems I have with wishy washy liberal/ lefty/ woke types is that they are arrogantly deluded in thinking they are full of moral virtue with their politics and anyone that doesn’t agree with them is some kind of immoral bigot.

I will be voting for reform also, I was undecided for the last few weeks but it feels increasingly like a no brainer at this point. I've lost all faith in the conservative party after all the inner party corruption that has been exposed (and them having zero conservative values). The idea of voting for Kier Starmer was never an option since I dont want to live in a woke country like how Canada has gone. It feels good to see other gay people being open about supporting reform and definately makes me more secure in my choice so thank you! 🙌🏼

I could moan about my other reasons all day but I won’t rant here.
I know a few others in south london living near me that are also of the same mindset. So there’s quite a few more of us than you think. It’s just not discussed openly. My grindr name is currently “Vote Reform”

As long as you truly do question yourself and why you think the things you do are true. Inspirational!

    • @simontgamer

And yeah it's really odd that politicians aren't like: "were gonna push for every establishment having a third alternative to male/female bathrooms (which will remain sex based) as far as practical". Like, is that really that bad? I think it's a good solution. Trans woman Alexis Blake Said that her work place converted the handicapped toilet to an "all gender" bathroom and that seems to have worked good.
Like why isn't "were gonna make sure trans women are also safe" enough? Why is "trans women are literally women, educate yourself" the line?

A few years ago I was very much centre left and during the Trump era I watched via tv and social media what was going on in the US and could not for the life of me understand how any decent person could vote Republican and that they were all basically racist. Now I see things very differently and wonder about how manipulated/brainwashed we are by the media. I am seeing now that same smugness in the British mainstream political commentators (that I used to like) and the feeling from them is that that anyone that doesn't have these "progressive" views is just dispicable or as Hillary Clinton said "deplorable". The use of the term Far Right is used with abandon to make people feel shameful I think but the so-called political elites are ignoring the valid concerns of ordinary people. We'll see what happens with this next parliament. Labour are pretty much assured of a win, they should have a big enough majority the to push through anything they wish once they are in power so they better prove themselves. If they fail, come the following election Reform may well be the front runner then. I suppose we will all be watching how things are are going in Europe.

However, as they aren't going to, and Reform have a manifesto and ideas which I believe is the best out of all of them. So based on the fact that Reform are my preferred choice anyway, and there's no point in tactically voting tory just to keep labour out, I am voting who I actually want to vote for.
I have watched all the debates, and the person who made this video has made it clear he's voting reform so I'm not sure why you think either if those things aren't true.
Yes I am voting for who I like.
Well everyone apart from Labour probably knows they are going to lose. So based on that logic are you saying I have to vote labour? Well I don't want to vote labour as you've correctly stated this is a democracy. At this point Reform are polling as high as most of the other potential oppositions (give or take a few points depending on the poll) so I would argue it's as good as voting for anyone else. Nigel Farage earned more money on his radio show than he is campaigning so I don't believe it's about money. And sure, a lot of reform candidates have a bit of money behind then but the same could be said about a lot of MPs in other parties. Funny story, one of my friend's relatives owned thousands of properties and he was a Liberal Democrat MP. He was a billionnaire. Aren't they meant to be quite left wing and anti landlord? 😁 Tiktok is a great way to reach potential voters and they're clearly running the best social media campaign so fair play to them.

Nigel Farage is a cunt, he would rather lose the seat he's gone for so he can stay in the US spending the money people donated to his various parties, and paid for tickets for his lectures. But that's your money, not mine.

You highlighted a point in your economy discussion that also was very important in my move from the left to right, and why I prioritize the economy over my sexuality. I grew up in poverty and thought I would never get out of it. As I was entering adulthood, I realized how much I did not want to live in poverty anymore and clawed myself out of it like my life depended on it (because it did). As a middle-class adult now, I realize how important it was for me to not have given up and have the resiliency to push through temptation and exhaustion to accomplish what I needed to for my own self preservation. The right is significantly better at making people realize that they're not victims that need constant rescuing but that they're capable to rescue themselves out of anything life is going to throw their way. And the right is unafraid to say that life is supposed to be hard, which is a tough love reality check that many are desperate to not accept. It is mentally healthier to build that sense of resiliency in yourself, which can be hard when the opposite political spectrum is essentially affirming your victimhood and waving benefits at you so you can just give up. I myself was tempted many times. And it doesn't help that the left often shames people for being too productive, for not acknowledging their unrelated identity privileges and oppression points, and especially for being grateful for capitalism or the country they live in. That last one is especially heterodox in every leftist circle I was formerly a part of. Good luck!

Jack Jewell, I'm struggling to understand how you can support a party like Reform UK. It feels like it's less of a political party and more of a business venture, given its focus on divisive rhetoric and its stance on issues concerning the LGBTQ+ community. You say you're part of it, but it's troubling that the party seems to have a platform that opposes the rights of LGBTQ+ individuals. They appear to be intent on rolling back the progress we've made, undermining protections and rights that are crucial to our community.
It's disheartening to see a political group that doesn’t align with the values of inclusivity and equality. The LGBTQ+ community has fought hard for recognition and rights, and it feels like a betrayal when a party, supposedly representing broader interests, works against those very rights. Supporting a party that seeks to dismantle these protections is not just a political stance-it's a direct threat to the hard-won progress and the well-being of countless individuals.
Moreover, the situation is exacerbated by their stance on refugees. Reform UK's approach towards refugees seems equally troubling. Their policies appear to focus more on exclusion and restriction rather than compassion and support. In a time when global crises are driving people to seek safety and a better life, the need for a humane and empathetic response is greater than ever. A party that advocates for stringent and hostile measures against refugees not only fails to address the real issues but also contributes to a climate of fear and division.
It’s crucial that we support parties and policies that uphold human rights for all, including the LGBTQ+ community and refugees. We need to ensure that our votes reflect our values of compassion, equality, and justice. The choices we make in elections have far-reaching impacts, and supporting a party that undermines these principles is a step backward for everyone who values human dignity and inclusivity.

Thank you for your comment :). Allow me to address
      - I agree with the business venture comment. However, I feel a lot of that is due to the short period they've had to campaign so had to try and make a splash. The reason I support them is not because I think they are perfect or have every solution. It is because they are the only party calling out the things I most care about and what I feel our country needs to prosper and our citizens to have a higher quality of life.
      - LGBTQ: Framing their stance in reference to 'LGBTQ' already makes no sense. What stances have they taken towards gay people? I have read their contract and do not see any of my rights being threatened. This is something people say without even referring to anything Reform have said. Homophobia is just assumed. David Bull was the previous co-deputy lead of Reform until a couple months ago - and he is a gay man. Nigel Farage has said time and time again he doesn't care what or who you are - he judges people as individuals. This is very much a value of mine. And if you are referring to the banning of gender ideology in schools and teaching kids about trans/gender identity. I am in full favour of this. I am vehemently against confusing young distressed kids that they may be in the wrong body (often gay kids) and setting them on a path of sterility, mutilation, and lifelong healthcare patients when they need mental health support.
      - Immigration: I really do hear you in regards to refugees. But how far can we go? I don't know how much you've looked into immigration numbers but we are essentially dealing with a complete experiment never before seen in history in terms of how we have put mass migration on steroids. Not to mention the vast number of illegal migrants arriving on our shores every day, most of whom get to stay. It costs £8M of our tax a day just to house them in hotels, not to mention the social housing after. People pretend they are all families fleeing persecution. The vast majority are single young men who have paid a smuggler £1000s to bring them from France. Whether illegal or legal, the naive expect we can welcome millions of people from 3rd world countries who couldn't have further values from our own and these people will just integrate into liberal society. Why does ReformUK get brandished as villainous when the same people who say that are happy to open our borders to unchecked numbers of men who treat women as second class citizens, believe homosexuality should be criminalised, and who do not respect law and order? I don't know how much you've looked into this issue, but the belief that every 'refugee' is automatically virtuous given the sheer number we are taking in is simply ignorant. People are blinded by empathy. I would consider how many young women have been raped and attacked because of the mass migration issue and see if they can be afforded any empathy in this equation.
Apart from all that, the maths does not allow for us to take 700k+ net migration a year and somehow overcome our housing crisis, NHS crisis, and cost of living crisis. We need to build a home every 2 minutes just to cover the net migration, let alone all the British-born people who are in desperate need of help but forgotten about by the liberal elite.

    Great video! 💎💎💎
    Two points:
    1) very easy to go after keir starmer. He has never protected women and girls. In fact, when he was the head of the cps, he did the opposite of what he claimed to have done. He claims he did his utmost to protect women and girls. No. He point blank refused to prosecute the rape gangs. All the gangs of men mostly of Pakistani origin who were raping white working class girls all across the uk, hundreds of thousands of girls, keir refused to prosecute any of them.
    2) please stop saying queer to mean lgbt.
Queer does not mean lgbt. At all. Especially younger gays have been told it means lgbt. You are being lied to.
Most gays my age and older find the word queer quite upsetting. We were called queer when we were physically or sexually attacked in the street. Please stop using this word because it is upsetting, it validates homophobia and it re traumatises gay people who went through horrific things. One of my friends had HIV at 15 because she had been gang raped in an attack. This was just one attack she went through. All of us went through this and we were called queer throughout. So please stop saying queer to mean gay or lgbt.
Queer theory is full of paedophilia. Queer today is about pulling down the social norms. The norms between children and adults is a biggie for queer theory. A key queer theorist Foucault was a sexual sadist who raped young boys. Gayle Rubin who wrote one of the first queer theory papers, Thinking Sex, promoted paedophilia in this paper. Little Miss Hot Mess and Harper Keenan wrote a paper called The Pedagogy of Drag and that was all about encouraging kids to leave their parents and find a “glitter family” - older lgbt who would “love” them. And it goes on and on.
Queer is about paedophilia, bestiality, necrophilia and everything we would never want to be associated with.
But these are the things that homophobic people always said we were into. By calling lgbt queer, you are reinforcing the homophobic stereotype that lgbt are into kids, animals and more.
Please stop saying queer to mean lgbt.
Apart from that, I loved the video, I like your insights as you are from a different generation to me, you have gone on a journey, you are bringing insights from where you were before and I think that is so valuable. There is such a disconnect between different groups now and having people like you who are open to changing their mind, coming from a different “group” - one that does operate like a hive mind these days and didn’t back in the past. We used to actually like each other in the past when gay folk were accepting and tolerant - you come from that other group and so hearing what you have to bring to the table is what we need.
    Thank you. Keep shining 💎💎💎

I can agree with your position about pride becoming more of a mess every year. It's disappointing that parts of the community are accepting of this behaviour and it paints us all in a bad light. As a trans woman I obviously feel more strongly about the middle portion of your video. I respect everyone is going to have an opinion on this, but it's a lived experience for me and it's extremely tiring listening to people talk about us in such a demeaning way. It's mostly the way people unashamedly say "male" and how no one that dislikes trans women in women's spaces will take a position that isn't either completely disregarding us, or expecting establishments to provide a third gender neutral space. The reality is that most likely it will never be mandated that these places exist, and we will always be forced into the position where we have to go in one of them or hold it, which isn't always possible. I don't often find myself going to public places for long, because I don't feel that it's possible to use the any gendered toilet anywhere without upsetting someone or putting myself at risk.
Sometimes it feels impossible even as someone that's trans to take a position on this. On one hand I have some self respect and want to be able to be treated as a woman and use facilities like a normal person, on the other I don't want people to hate my guts and think I'm praying on women. Unfortunately this is just how it's going to be, until I die and my deadname is written on my grave. Such is life.
To be clear, I don't hate any of the people in the comments here for thinking carefully about what party best meets their needs, as everyone is different. Personally I voted green. I can understand that many people would hate that. But as a trans person it's the only party I feel like I can vote for that remotely cares about us without spoiling my ballot.

Hello i am from the UK as well Bedfordshire, I am also for the Reform and for a few reasons. The first is the simple reason that i am not in favour of illegal immigration and open borders it's been done in Sweden and it didn't work if you look at Sweden and Germany it's pretty bad. also my future wife is from Kenya and and she come to this country in the legal process yet i have to worry about her safety when she wants to go to the shop or head to Piccadilly London (She Loves five guys that is why we go there sometimes) also it does not make sense that she jump through hoops and did everything right and is a carer (she is the best there is every one of the people she cares for says she is the best and she is always on the top of the requested list) but my point is it is not fair to allow these who come in illegally to be given special treatment while we expect these who come here the right way to act the right way the world is already unfair why make our society and the rules set up in such a way.
The other reason is that the amount of violence i have seen from people who have come here illegally is insane and not something as a country we can maintain i am a mma coach and I see a lot of the issues in regard to violence and the number one culprit is always economic migrants who have been rejected by the home office for good reasons.
I am also voted reform because the other parties struck me as having extreme levels of race-baiting they seem overly obsessed with race, the UK is the most egalitarian and equal society and has been for many years but these political parties want to make speeches about how racist the common people are and how horrible they are. For reference, i am a straight white male and my future wife is a black woman from Kenya and the amount of hate i receive from left-leaning people for being in a relationship with a gorgeous Kikuyu woman is insane, one socialist on made a whole speech on how i was internalising my racism by being in a relationship with my love and how she was denying her blackness by being in a relationship with a straight white male.
another reason is the economy it's soo bad me and my future wife want to buy a small cottage in the rural part of the UK settle down and have some cute little half British half Kenyan Giga chad babies but the cost of everything s too damn high i am 30 years old and i remember when things were affordable, nowadays the inflation, housing and economy is broken to the point that none of the politicians have any reason or desire to fix the mess they have created.
The next is the issue of freedom, all of the current parties expect for reform come across as socialist or communist and these are ideologies i hate with a bleeding passion and with good reason, this goes into my family but to put it simply from my father's side i am British and Norwegian and from my mother side I am polish Jewish. the latter of which was completely eradicated by the nazis and communists as that side of my extended family saw both Auschwitz and the Gulags the only survivors where my grandmother and great-grandmotherthey come to England. this is important for the next part both from my personal perspective and from a historical and statistical perspective these ideologies tend to be very authoritarian. I Enjoy freedom and as a historian, i am well aware the enormous blood price that has been paid for me to have it both my great-grandfathers on my father's side paid for it with their lives in ww2. The issue nowadays is that we are adopting and accepting a lot of neo-marxism policies that are just evil no matter how you slice this foul rancid cake. and there is also the issue of blasphemy laws that the Muslim community wants they intend to do to gays, apostates and people they dont like what they do to them in the Middle East which includes a tall building or a large sword. Freedom is wonderful we have paid for it so many times why also the sacrifice of our elders and predecessors to go to waste. Freedom is amazing it brings together people from all walks of life and creates the soil that allows people to grow as human beings if not for freedom then i would have never met my cute and charming African queen we are able to have a truly loving relationship even tho we have many differences we celebrate our differences she is a catholic Christian and i am a Norse pagan. Freedom is the thing that has allowed us to do this and Freedom has become a British value that we must protect. I think we are in for a few years of a harsh communist labour government my question is how long before Kier Stammer builds a death camp and sends people who don't like him to it?
Another Reason i would go for reform is the protection of British culture and values, this country has an amazing history and culture and traditions that are deep and it seems to me that both the Tories and labour hate British culture and British people. but yaa that is why i am going to go for reform it seems to be the most sensible option hopefully in the next election we might win I hope.

Handing power to a foreign, undemocratic entity can never be good for a country. In the short term there will be pain, in the long term there will be gain. So I'm back after thinking about it. For all those former lefties who think they are now 'right' by political definition.
Well, the centre left (and a tad further) has always been about the progression of society.
Conservatives by definition have always sought to conserve the way it is. As we've all seen, the unfortunate consequence of being conservative is that sometimes you get stuck in the ways, and will be vilified by the left who want change.
When change is needed, change will happen. But to then decide to want to conserve the change we have enacted, is to be conservative.
HOWEVER, as we all know the Conservative party in the UK does not seek to conserve what we have right now. Labor wants more progress, for progressions sake, and none is needed. We love the gays here. We love how Britain is the 3rd least racist country in the world. We love multiculturalism. But what we dont want, is to become so open minded our brains fall out.
The world should be free to everyone, but unfortunately some sects of society seek to change the very fabric of what Britain is, and Britain is free and working, and not driving us all into debt and making the very basic of house rights unobtainable.
We need a new system. Who wants that? Reform UK.

For me, it’s less about left and right and more about the anti-globalism and anti-woke + common sense policies from Reform. The left used to care about immigration, they used to care about patriotism, they used to know there were 2 sexes! It used to be more about the economy for left/right.
But I disagree that conservative means to keep things as they are. The word ‘conservative’ denotes being ‘conservative’ with how much government involvement we have. They are ‘conservative’ on spending, taxes, bureaucracy, over regulation. And yes, they would take a more ‘conservative’ approach to making big changes, but it doesn’t mean they can’t make them 👍🏻

All I will say Jack is a lot of things you said about schools I think already happens, I went to primary school from 2009-2016 and secondary school from 2016-2021, and I was taught about Britain ending slavery (although a few things I’ll say is Japan did end it for them in 1594 but then brought back sex slavery back for about 4 years during the war and then abolished it again, France briefly ended slavery after the revolution and the brought it back and we did buy cotton from the Southern States during the American civil war despite the union blockade, I didn’t learn that bit at school) I was taught about the invasions Britain was responsible for and I was taught about the bad things in equal proportion and I wasn’t taught about trans people at all. I never once felt they were teaching us to dislike our country and I do love this country.

I say labour are red Tories because they don't care about Scotland, if I was English I'd be voting reform, I don't think they care either but I've given up on the SNP at this point so I'm just observing the mess of the world

How can you say Labour don't care about Scotland? You had a Scottish prime minister when you voted in the SNP majority in Scotland, lost labour the majority as a result and things have gotten worse since then!
In what world do you think Reform would give a single toss about Scotland?

Modern democracy is such a scam. I would prefer simple monarchy, absolute monarchy. Ceremonial constitutional monarchy is so... impotent?

    • @ianclose123
      @ianclose123 2 місяці тому

A simple monarchy with queen Elizabeth would likely have been fantastic. A monarchy with a Charles who reveres Islam and considers himself the "defender of the faiths" is the exact opposite of what we need.

@@ianclose123 I agree. On the other hand, I was thinking about variety of possibilities taking under consideration history of European monarchies and I realized it's a lottery BUT at least we know we have no control and there's only one set of mouths feeding on us. In democracy we have only a mirage of control, we are constantly lied to just to get our votes and blood hungry mouths are fighting with each other, it cost a lot of money. Additionally, they are changing alllll the time, doesnt matter if the President/Prime Minister is good or not, it's like changing football coach and whole strategy when they are winning game after game. Chaos, waste, pure madness.

As an older Irish gay man and a traditional Catholic in the U.K. 23 years, I no longer believe that there is any democratic nor political solution to the problems that our western nations are facing right now because democracy itself and the democratic process is riddled with, is too vulnerable to and is governed by deception and corruption of all kinds and at every level of our society, where leaders are “selected not elected” we cannot vote our way out of our current situation and regardless of purity of intention, even independent or non-party candidates cannot reform a corrupt system from within - the harsh reality is that harsh measures are and will be required to bring our countries back on track - based on the Crusades and the Spanish Inquisition and also based on the ways in which Islamic Sharia Law is enforced in Muslim countries, we need a Catholic Millita and a dedicated national Catholic Milltary Morality Police to replace all existing U.K. police forces, made up of real patriots in the Millitary and ex Millitary, police and ex police - these need to launch a Milltary coup, arresting and detaining all civilian politicians in milltary custody on charges of treason and sedition, until such time as these can be brought before a milltary court martial for these offences, establishing a provisional milltary dictatorship government along with national state of emergency, martial law, police state and curfews on our terms only, to protect our way of life, as the globalist version of this would destroy everything that we hold dear - all globalists, leftists, socialists and Marxists would have to be arrested and detained in Milltary custody as enemies of the state as well and this would have to remain in place for at least 40 years - people would have to be “dragged kicking and screaming” back to traditional social and moral values in every area of our society and “shaken out of” back to reality out of their brainwashing and indoctrination by hardline methods and harsh military discipline in a way that is resolute, determined, unwavering and uncompromising, by way of a show of overwhelming Millitary force, as fear of the consequences of breaking the law, generates respect for the law - all of this is way better than the far worse alternative of what the globalists want to bring their version of such draconian methods, the difference on our side is that we are doing so to protect our civilisation, the globalists and their leftist servants seek to destroy us

Yeah...nah. As a secular person, I want a Catholic militia as little as I want sharia law to rule this or any other country. But I agree that the current situation may require measures which may not be fully compatible with "democratic" or "liberal" values to be resolved. :/

Simply not true. Once you strip out the tax-payer funded subsidies and the cost of back-up systems when the wind isn't blowing and the sun isn't shining, then the cost comparison is very different.
