I knew you guys were going through a lot, but I had no idea. Praise you, Lord, for strengthing Tony and given Jenny that loving determination to get you guys through these bad times. That fire fighter story is actually very aggravating to me. I pray that this shoulder doctor will be able to help you, Tony. You two are the strongest fox hole buddies, I know. May God continue to use these struggles to strengthen your marriage. Yall are awesome ❤❤❤
I'm watching this in October 2024 in amazement ❤you two are an absolute incredible couple. If you can survive this, you can survive anything. Sending love, prayers and the utmost respect and admiration for you both!!
Thank you all for your honesty and sharing your story. You all make an amazing team and God sure knew what he was doing bringing you both together. Continued prayers.
I remember taking care of both my parents at home. My mother was wheelchair bound and it was so difficult getting her in the shower, the bathroom, to the doctor etc... It was my dad and I at the time so it wasn't as bad but I have MS and have already had 2 back fusion surgeries. It was so hard. There is no help. Hiring help is too expensive. They both lived on social security. My mom begged us not to put her in a nursing home and I know that would have killed her. She had 2 little doggies that she loved. We also never let on that she was a burden. After she passed then my dad got sick with cancer shortly after and it was just me. I have no idea how I did it alone. Getting him in the shower, the toilet, changed. Besides the embarrassment of it all for both of us. It shouldn't have to be this way and there should be help available in this country. Finally after he was on hospice I did get some help at least with the bathing and changing. By then he was on diapers which I had to change. My back is seriously messed up and I now need another surgery which will cost more than it would of to provide some in home help for the little while I needed it. This whole health care system is seriously messed up.
I first started following Jenny on her cleaning channel, and through that I found this channel. I work in Radiology, and I love watching this for many reasons. I love your story, and it gives me perspective. I have learned a lot. Can you get Home Health visits? I see PT comes out. It broke my heart when the firefighters wouldn't come back. I could feel the helplessness of the situation. Your love for each other is so inspiring and beautiful ❤️. Have you done a video about how Tony was diagnosed, what led to his diagnosis, and how he felt/coped with it? I would love to hear his story from the beginning. Thank you so much for sharing! I'll be praying for all of you ❤.
Tony & Jenny, It is unreal to think that firemen who are trained said they couldn't help & leave it to y'all to figure it out. Wow! Jenny, you are amazing & the willpower you have is outstanding! I'm looking forward to more videos about your journey. Your NE IN friend. 😊
Hi friend! Yes, that experience with the firemen was pretty surreal and disappointing! Jenny truly is amazing even through how difficult it's been and is. Thanks for following us! Take care and God bless!
People don't know how difficult it is when a loved one has a disease and needs help. Help is hard to find without being well off and the funds to pay for help. I will never understand the various organizations for people with challenges like Parkinson's Disease, MS, MD etc. How are people supposed to travel this road without the resources and necessary help! I was a caregiver for my Dad who had ALZ for almost 10 years. There was no help! He was a small man which helped me but many days I was so overwhelmed and a moment of prayer got me through each day. You are so right Jenny, you figure it out and I did get a routine and everyday stuck to it, he did have someone come in during the week to bath him but I changed him at least 4-5 times a day to make sure his skin did have any issues. He passed 5 years ago and I still can't believe I went through it and made it through on my own. .Family was of no help, always busy when I needed to keep my own Drs Appointments. I wish you both the best and I know you will find these challenges do give you great strength you thought you never had. You are an amazing person Jenny but at the end of the day you are just a wife and mother trying your best. Keep the faith! God Bless he will see you both through this. Tony does look good and that is from your care!
Hi Laura! We can totally understand your frustration! There have been times of desperation we've experienced when we were looking for an organization or program for assistance or to use as a resource when circumstances were rough, only to be told we didn't qualify or that there was an unrealistic waitlist to sign up for! We're so sorry you had to shoulder the responsibility of caregiving for your father and have it be so difficult. Jenny truly is an amazing wife and mother, especially taking on the role of being my caregiver! I always tell her when she calls me "cute" that I am all because of her! Take care and stay strong! God bless you!
I feel so blessed that one day your channel popped up in my feed. I don’t encounter your everyday challenges but on a different journey and feel comfort in hearing your story. I always keep this one word in my heart “Hope”. ❤️🤗
Hi Marianne! We're thankful that you found our channel also! We're also glad you're finding comfort in watching our videos! Take care and stay strong! God bless!
Hello friend! It always good to know when you're not the only ones going through similar difficult situations that life throws at you. We hope you and your husband are well! Take care and God bless!
Hi Amy! The Hoyer has helped so much indeed, once we’ve gotten past the learning phase. It’s a great piece of equipment to have! Thanks for watching! Take care!
I am so glad to see you back! You guys inspire me so much. Many prayers for each of you and your family. Your podcast is my favorite one on UA-cam! I had to be caregiver for my husband and it was very hard. Trust in God and he will bring you thru. this.
Hi Diane! We're so glad you're finding our videos helpful! Learning to lean on God when everything gets difficult was a challenge at first, but ultimately became so important in getting through all of really bad situations. Thank you so much your prayers and support! Take care and may God bless!
You both are such an inspiration to me. My husband had a stroke a few years ago and our life was turned upside down. I would love a separate video of how this whole experience has changed you and how you've gotten through the really tough stuff - you know, the stuff that's not always on your videos. IYKYK Seriously though, thank you....thank you for sharing your life with us. I wholeheartedly understand and feel your growing pains. Growing pains that are both hard and good...so difficult to explain, and y'all communicate it all so well. You inspire me in more ways than you can imagine. Your story is truly a ministry in and of itself.....I hope you know that. Thank you.
Hello friend! That would be a really great video to make! We definitely plan on expanding more on our experiences... especially how transformative they are and have been! We are so glad you find our story helpful and it drives us to share more...even the hard stuff! Thank you for following us! Take care of each other and stay strong!
Dear Jenny and Tony, it is so good hearing from you. It hurts knowing all the difficulty you've been through since June. I thank Father God you have each other. Please know you are loved and thought of often. I love you in Christ. Warm hugs and prayers from Linda in No. California.
Wow, what a journey you both have had the past months. Thank you for sharing the nitty gritty of your lives; the ups and downs. Your faith and trust in the Lord, and in each other, has made you strong and courageous. You are inspirations to us all. Thank you, and may God bless you and your family. Gail M.
Hi Gail! It really has been a journey! Without His love, we know we wouldn't have made it this far, even knowing that more difficult times lie ahead. Thank you for supporting us! Take care and may God bless you too!
I truly believe you are both amazing. I keep you in my prayers every day! You are meant to be together. I wish I lived closer to you. I would love to help any way I could. God bless you both!!💖🙏🙏
Hi Debbie! Knowing we have friends out there like you showing the love and support we’ve seen and felt means the world to us! Thank you so much! God bless you too!
So happy to see the two of you back! The struggles are real and I can emphasize. I have a C5-C7 incomplete SCI from 38+ years ago. Age is not kind as it leads to overuse injuries, then like the domino effect you discuss, 1 change leads to a series of several more. I'm curious about the potential surgery on Tony's shoulder. I've been told the damage done to my shoulder was inoperable. I will keep you both in my prayers and look forward to learning about what the surgeon offers as a resolve to the shoulder problem. Jen, you may be strong but please, I deplore you, to ask for help before you become injured yourself. It's sounds like you do have a support team available part of the time. Identify your resources & use them. I admire the love the two of you share. It's a precious gift. Protect it.
Hi Tamela! The struggles are far too real! We're definitely hoping this consultation goes in our direction with some kind of procedure that might gain me back some of what I've lost since the news of my shoulder dislocation. We are building a support system for Jen to help with the load she's been carrying the past few months. Thank you for your words of kindness and support! Take care and stay strong! God bless!
I stumbled onto your channel this evening for the first time. I just want to say you are the epitome of what a loving, committed marriage and couple looks like. Your desire to work together to adapt to ever changing circumstances is what enables you to do so with humor, grace, patience and love and is what allows you to change with each other and not in opposite directions. Each day is not without struggles but when the struggles are worked out together with those qualities exercised, your bond does grow stronger. And in adapting and acceptance, you are able to find joy, which you both display as well. Your channel is real, it is unselfishly shared to help others and is encouraging to those who have just had "bombs" go off in their life to see that a happy, fulfilling, good life is possible. Again, as I just stumbled onto your channel, I am uncertain of where faith and hope lies in anchoring you. It is my hope you may find comfort in the thoughts at Isaiah 33:24 where a future on earth with "no resident saying, 'I am sick'" is promised and where Isaiah 35:6 foretells "the lame will leap" and where Revelation 21:4 assures us "pain will be no more". These promises may also help to bolster you on the particularly bad days as they have for me in my circumstances. I look forward to viewing more on your channel and have subscribed.
Woah, You all went through some major trials!!! Yet, you came out stronger, Praise God! I believe Jenny had some angels helping her w Tony's transfers! That sounds like a miracle to me. Did Tony have to go on disability, I think remember he worked a gov't job or something at one time? Love your channels!
Hi Michele! Jenny does have angels on her side! I know this because she is one! I used to be on disability but have been working in cybersecurity for the last three years! A true blessing indeed that I am so thankful for! So glad you enjoy our channel and Jen's! Take care and God bless!
I sure do enjoy watching your videos I know about mobility I have a problem getting out of bed in the morning I have to push up on my left shoulder so much I think I’ve pulled something in there but mine is due to advanced age iam 76 so my heart goes out to you we both will do ok God is with us your faithful follower Sonja from Alabama
Hi Sonja! We’re so happy to hear you’re enjoying our channel! I really never took into consideration how much I depended on my shoulders, even with almost no arm strength. It’s been a huge adjustment from having that little bit of independence one day to having to be dependent the next… We will definitely keep leaning on God as well as our friends and family to help us through this difficult time! Take care and God bless!
Wow you guys are hero's ❤ I can't thank you both enough for the inspiration that you both are, not just educationally on your disability Tony, but emotionally, mentally, and physically. You guys are the epiphany of strength and I love you and your family very much and always in my prayers xxx ❤️💙😘🙏
Thank you so much for sharing this. I absolutely relate to so much to this. I know you remember what I told you. These tough years are the best years of your life. One more thing I would add. I worried for so many years how this would affect my kids. It was tough. My daughter still holds things in instead of talking about it. But all three of my children are good people who do good things in this world. Instead of breaking them, it made them. I thank God for that every day.
Hi Terry! That is very wise and reminds me of my men's group leader at church. We were talking and he had mentioned that our natural inclination as parents is to protect our children from the difficulties in life and he had to turn that thinking around and actually wanted his children to be challenged by life's tests in order to better prepare them and in turn, make them better, stronger individuals. Thank you for sharing also! Take care and have a great week!
Oh my 😢!! That hurts so much I saw it with my son when he was still with us he had often his shoulder dislocated an saw his pain and Tony had to wait 7 hours I have so much respect for you two , love you guys 🌹❤️ have a nice week
Hi Netty! That was definitely not our ideal way of spending a date night together! So glad to be past that! Thank you for being our friend! Love you too!
Thanks for sharing. It’s not easy to share but so important for many of us not to feel alone and to feel hope. You two are inspirational. Prayers to you and your family.
Hi Laura! It has taken us a bit to get comfortable enough to share some of the more difficult experiences with being in an interabled relationship, living with a disability, and being a caregiver. But the more we saw in the comments we got, we knew it was important to share. Thank you for the support and encouragement! Take care and God bless!
So great, that you had so many people came to help. I hope Tony is doing better. It is so wonderful that you stick together and your love is strong enough to go through everything. Stay strong. Greetings from Munich, Germany
Hi, I’m new to ur community and have sent u 1 other email telling u about a doctor that may be able to diagnose Tony with what’s going on now. I hope u got to read the information I provided to u. I hope Tony can once again be independent Helen, New York
Oh man ..poor guy. It's hard when you depend on your own strength and it's not there. Being a caregiver, I understand how it's hard and so frustrating for the person who is hurting. It's exhausting, too! I'm so sorry you were hurting so much. 😔 You two are so lovely. ❤ You are the best caregiver for your husband. I wear a back brace and a wrist brace. 😢 ❤ 🙏 It's teamwork 💜😢. It does change you, but hang onto the love and strong bond you have together ❤️.
Hi friend! Thank you for the kind words and the understanding from both sides! It really is tough and challenging, but it's made us come together in so many ways and made us a strong team! Take care of yourself as well with your caregiving and God bless!
Thank you for sharing your story. Have just found your channel and have subscribed. I pray that Tony will get his needed surgery and will continue the road back to his independence. You are both amazing. Such love, bravery and positive attitudes in the face of nearly overwhelming challenges is an inspiration to us all. Sending positive thoughts and prayers your way.
What an awesome relationship and great support team you are for each other! Having Parkinson’s I can relate to the bowel/constipation issues. Finding the happy place with fiber etc often causes the pendulum to swing. Happy to hear things are improving. Bless you both
Hi Robin! We’re still trying to find that happy place with our regimen! There are so many variables that sometimes come out of nowhere. Overall, things have been getting better! We hope you’re having a wonderful day!
You guys are a great team. Figuring everything out is so difficult! I am glad you had help along the way. Sorry you had to go through so much! Thanks for telling your story. ❤❤
I have FSHD and am older, but can totally relate to the trials and tribulations of being mobility impaired. I have a great husband. He has to help me with everything. So far we do not need another caregiver, but someday we will. The most difficult tasks for us is the bathroom, both showering and toileting. I always joke about if only I didn't have to go to the bathroom or take a shower, I would be fine...lol. You can do everything together. Jenny you are an amazing woman and Tony you are blessed that Jenny loves you so much. I am grateful for my husband every day! Somehow I have learned to be generally happy in what I can do. Keep the positive attitude going!@@jennyandtony
Wait a minute…. No complaining from Tony? Lucky you Jenny! lol Wow that’s impressive 😉 I am so glad yall are making it through this as smoothly as you can with the struggles you were faced with. You are both brave. My dominoes went falling down but i asked God to change me and he did and now i am more aware of my surroundings and won’t let anyone step all over me again. So i can relate to the marital and family part. It’s hard but so worth holding on and with the help that we need we will be just fine. Why? Because we are stronger than we know ❤ Looking forward to the next video. Take care guys.
Hi Ann! Sorry to hear that you went through what you did! I'm still learning how to lean on God and hand over all of the negative emotions. It's hard, but helps a ton to not giving into despair. I'm so glad you're in a better place in your life now! Much love being sent your way!
Hi Tony and Jenny, I'm in tears, thank God for your strength and endurance and the love Jenny you have for Tony, thank God for the Church congregation and support from those who love you and care for you ❤😢❤, I became my mother's caretaker when they amputated both of her legs and she wore diapers, she also loss control of her bowel movements, love you guys ❤ and pray for you, stay strong 💪 ❤️ 💖 💙 ♥️ 💗
Hi Irma! Thank you so much for the encouragement! Sorry to hear about your mother! With caretaking, it definitely takes strength, patience, and grace! You’re definitely not alone! God bless!
I'm shocked at how those firemen acted. I am so sorry. That was horrible. Not only are they trained, but they carrying people of every weight out of burning buildings, but 5 men saw how difficult it was so left it for a woman to do alone! That infuriates me. They should be embarrassed not only as firemen, but as men and as human beings. The two of you have been through a great deal.
Wow! You all managed very well given the awful place you were put it. Next time ( or now if you still have issues that need to be addressed) please insist on a home health Occupational Therapy and Physical therapy consult to teach you new transfers, equipment and ADL retraining. Ridiculous you were left to figure it out yourselves. As a retired therapist I’m mad on your behalf.
Hello friend! Yes, the experience as a whole has been upsetting, especially since so much was stirred up at the same time, making it hard to get any firm footing with any one issue. We do feel fortunate that we were set up with some home health eventually (nurses, PT, and OT), but yes, we did have to rely on our own research to figure out everything. Thanks for understanding the craziness of this all! Hope you have a great week! Take care and God bless!
I also have FSHD and I have a subluxed shoulder.I have not yet found any medical help yet.I have an appointment to talk with a shoulder surgein, but she doesn't think I am a goodd candidate for surgery. THe pain is excruciating when I move my arm. How is your shoulder andd what steps did you take to ffind a solution? I would love to have some suggestions of what to do next. Thank you. Ooh... Ii am listening to the video as I type and I just heard that you have an appointment with a surgeon I would love to know if you find any helpful info. Thank you.
Hi Linda! Sorry to hear you're going through the same shoulder problems.... it's rough to say the least! Right now, I'm still waiting to hear back from the shoulder specialist. Thankfully, my shoulder has gone back to a very manageable level of pain. I still get a stabbing pain if I aggravate it so I've gotten in the habit of not putting it in certain positions. If I find out anything, I'll definitely share the information!
Thanks so much for the reply. It has been a joy to "visit"with you via UA-cam! It is wonderful to see how the Lord is mnistering to you daily and how He gives you amazing opportunities to witness to His help and strength to endure the challeges with grace. @@jennyandtony

You are such a great couple, bless you all xxx🙏
Hi Karon! Thank you and God bless you too!
OK Jenny I'm hving a cup.of tea a little snack I'm just laying back in my recliner listening to.ur story .I'm from Cleveland ohio.
I had never heard of fshd until your videos. We can only count our blessings. ❤❤
Awe. Just love you guys! I hope brighter days are ahead and that managing all of this only gets easier and more seamless. Wish you all the best.

Hi Mary! Thank you for being such a wonderful friend! You’ve always been one of our best supporters! Much love!
You both have been through so much, continued prayers ❤️
Prayers and praise for your love of one another, your church, and telling us your story.
Hi Lannah! Thank you for the prayers and encouraging words!

Hi Cindy! Thank you and God bless!
You guys are the best, loving couple. Praying for your whole family. 🙏🏼 Hope things go well with meeting the new surgeon.
Hi Christie! Thank you! We're hoping to hear good news after our consult! We'll definitely be sharing! Take care!

Hi Kristine! Thank you!
Hi, I’m new to ur community and have sent u 1 other email telling u about a doctor that may be able to diagnose Tony with what’s going on now. I hope u got to read the information I provided to u. I hope Tony can once again be independent
Helen, New York
Sending love and I hope Tony is on the road to recovery. You both are to be commended for sharing this and how you handled this whole crisis.
Oh man ..poor guy. It's hard when you depend on your own strength and it's not there. Being a caregiver, I understand how it's hard and so frustrating for the person who is hurting. It's exhausting, too! I'm so sorry you were hurting so much. 😔 You two are so lovely. ❤
You are the best caregiver for your husband. I wear a back brace and a wrist brace. 😢 ❤ 🙏
It's teamwork 💜😢.
❤awww so hard for you guys
It has been, but things have been getting better! Thanks for watching!
Caregiving is very difficult. Even when you do it willingly. I wish you both the best in all ways.
Hi friend! Caregiving definitely is! Thank you for understanding!
You guys are a great team. Figuring everything out is so difficult! I am glad you had help along the way. Sorry you had to go through so much! Thanks for telling your story. ❤❤
Hi Ginny! It's definitely been a roller coaster! Thank you for your thoughts and support!
Thank you for sharing your journey ❤. God bless your family.
Hi Elle! Thank you so much!

Hi Carla! Thank you!!!
Sweet Couple ❤❤❤
Thank you friend!
Thanks for sharing

Hi Emma! Thank you so much for your prayers! We're hoping the specialist is able to help. May God bless you as well! Take care!
Love
❤❤❤
Thank you Susan!
@@betsybabf748 thank you so much! It was really frustrating. Thank you so much for watching! 🩷
Yeah, shame on them. I honestly can’t believe they did y’all that way offering no remedy.
