Hi, and thanks for watching! Not trying to be argumentative, but just wondering why you think the shocks are upside down? I realize they are not mounted the same as they were at the beginning of the video but I chose to mount them this way intentionally, I think it looks better. There was no indication on the shocks that they should be mounted one way or the other, in fact they should exert the same opening pressure no matter how they are mounted. Someone else commented 9 months ago that I mounted them upside down so I actually took the time to mount them the way he claims is correct, there was absolutely no difference in the way the lid opened, so I changed them back to the way I originally mounted them. A shock has no idea which way it is mounted, there is no leverage advantage gained by mounting them the other way. Anyway sorry about the rant, but if I'm missing something here please enlighten me, because honestly I think it boils down to personal preference.😀
I'd say the guys that built this beautiful truck, at 0:25 of this video, probably knew what they were doing! ua-cam.com/video/EuffQtaKDQc/v-deo.html Shocks are mounted the same way.
Hi what happens when the piston are upside down the small amount of oil that Lubes the piston and shaft pools at bottom of the strut . The strut becomes dry and the seal will crack . This will cause a leak and cause gas to escape it will not work effectively cheers bud good vid thow 👍 Hi from down under Australia hope this helps
@@shadezbp7298 Thank you very much for explaining that! Your explanation does make a lot of sense. I hadn't really thought of that! I guess now I'm going to go out and switch them around... LOL. Thank you again for the good info & hope you have a great day! 😀
Decent vid but you installed them upside-down. The hydro fluid has to be at the top if you are greater than 50 degree rake. If it's upside-down the hydro fluid will not keep the seal from drying out.., thus failing. Hopefully by now you will have changed them.
Yip up side down

Thank you very much!😀
Can I put that shock from the back tonneau so that it turns popup cover
Thank you sir for the video.
No problem! Thanks for watching!
I bought a used tonneau cover with no shocks how can I figure a more or less measurement to buy shocks for it??
Same here
What was the device that you used to hold up your cover?
That's a pipe clamp. I'm sure a 2×4 would work just as well

He put them upside down
You put them on the opposite way they came off.

I noticed when you went to take the shocks off it was one way but when you put the back on it was the opposite way. Does it make a difference?
I installed mine after watching your video. Easy peasy (and I'm not skilled)!
Thank you.
Glad it helped!😃
