I thought that I didn't have autism but then spent 40 minutes last night having an imaginary conversation in my head where I go over the entire history of VGC to a girl at my local Denny's
@mikalcoleman4241 for me, daydreaming excessively turned into overthinking overthinking turned into anxiety anxiety turn into depression so I learned to limit my daily day dreaming lol
Few notes on this core: - It should be called “Talon Tusk”. That sounds so cool and fast, just like the core. - Yotam, Toler Webb, and 3 other guys all used the same Talon Tusk team and all did really well. 4/5 of them top cut, including Yotam going 9-1 and Toler going 9-1 and making it to Top 8. - So yeah this core is super strong. I used Great Tusk at Orlando myself and it’s so strong. The best Tusk out there for sure.
@@Tristanzabinski I’ve been using Focus Sash - by far the best item for Tusk imo. It’s so nice late game when it needs to survive a hit from Bundle or Flutter Mane. And I’ve been running 252 Attack / 252 Speed / 4 HP with Jolly nature, to outspeed any Gholdengo and at least speed tie other Great Tusks.
Great Tusk is definitely an interesting option I wanna try out. Although I think I would swap earthquake for ice spinner as that gives me even more options to use against flying types & can help get rid of Indeedee psychic terrain
Ice spinner honestly is one of my favourite moves as it's quite well distributed, tera normal dragonite loves it as it stops indeedee from splashing psychic terain. I think when pokemon home releases its going to be more important with the tapu's and rilaboom.
When I first learned about this format, I wanted to try out great tusk with competitive kilowattrel due to arcanine starting to rise up once again, but then I get reminded by just how good priority tailwind is with talonflame having gale wings and a generally more favorable utility movepool
Given the rise of gothitelle and arcanine I thought it was time to bring grafaiai back. You can pick up double intimidate into the arcanine and it's partner and you can grab shadow tag from gothitelle for both partners to make perish song much harder and more dangerous to use because you can lock your partner with your own trap without trapping either enemy if you dont remove grafaiai first. Also being able to take double regenerator in some matches is a bonus. The most fun interaction I've had was doodling Lilikoal Chlorophyll lol.
I ran AV Great Tusk at Orlando and it got me to 6-4 at my very first tournament so I definitely became a big Great Tusk lover after that. AV let me live things I had no business living and then just get KOs in return
Moxie Boosted fails to realize the tusk core of Great Tusk/Iron Bundle/Flutter Mane/Talonflame. Now you know. Spread the word. This shall be the new CHALK core
I noticed it picking up but Grass Tera Armarouge I'm running just bodies it. Just set up tr. Blast it with energy ball, armor cannon if steel tera or expanding force they are bold enough not to tera
Maybe a cop out answer but I think Grimmsnarl is going to come surging back and Grimm+Arcanine are going to be on nearly every team. SpiritBreak/SuckerPunch FakeOut PartingShot TWave/ScaryFace is a REALLY strong and disruptive moveset with all the frail offensive mons dominating the format right now. In the 2 US regionals so far we've seen Garganacl and Perish trap come out on top, I think as the meta develops more we'll see a harder lean into defensive strategies.
@@420Millar I’ve literally seen teams with 5 ground weaknesses and no resists, people seem very reliant on using Grass and Flying Teras to check Great Tusk offensively
I gotta rewatch the in Orlando tourney, I don't remember tusk being used in any of the showcased matches. I'm genuinely curious how much it actually used, versus just being a bench warmer.
Is basically a nuke, specially the Life orb variant. It destroys something before it gets attacked and KOd. It has middling speed so it needs tailwind to work properly, but boy does it work properly under good circumstances.
@@N12015 I watched the first rounds again, did notice it was used in the showcases. I feel like it didn't excel really, but it's not like there's to many alternatives, and it does what it needs to.
I made a shitty team where I use gravity and orthworm shed tail out to great tusk. then I tera ground earthquake next to the orthworm while it helping hands
Murkrow would just sit on the field doing nothing. Yeah you can Haze the stat drops but if you facing a special attacker that one shots regardless like bundle. The Haze would be pointless. Now you have a knocked out Tusk and a krow that can't deal damage.
I think Flutter Mane will be around all Series, as well Iron Hands, but i do hope we get to see more Roaring Moon around. It has great stats and very good moves, but i don't think this Acrobatics build is the best way to go, but then again, i wound't knew what to improve.
QOTA: Gravity Sandy shocks with espathra its accually preaty insane. First of all its lumina crash, which makes Sandy's damage devastating. The best part is that Gravity boost acc, so espathra has a 100% chance to hit a hypnosis and with speed boost its almost garanteed. Also, u can use espathra with batton pass and give his speed to another pokemon like gholdengo. Sry if my english is not that good lol
I’ve been waiting for this video, Great Tusk is in my top 5 favorite Pokémon and Talonflame has been my favorite regional bird and Fluttermane is second best Paradox form after Great Tusk
I just thought of a stupid challenge/ game you can do in doubles. You bring 6 pokemon, there are 5 rounds and in each round you can only bring 2 pokemon. Pokemon hold 'em would be this games name. It is more luck based, but I could see a genuine meta game developing. Innovative sets that pack a lot of coverage would be popular. One reason I thought of this is due to how in tournaments you see a lot of people bringing the same pokemon and same leads in two matches in a row
I love Talon always will it’s nerf was unjustified in my opinion especially due to power creep. Nature and EVs on both? I have a jolly tusk sounds odd but it works any advice?

Steel/ground Tera Tauros a big counter to grims especially cause ppl don’t expect raging bull breaks screens
The pinical of glass Canon. It's speed is what kills it.
I'm just gonna run a goated perish trap team, what could go wrong. It's not like ladder hasn't developed counter play.
Here I am laying waste to this core with my Graganacl Tropius Arcanine Tinkaton quad. Just cracked 1500 in the world!
Everything is weak to ground and nothing is resistant to it in this format, it’s just there are few fundamentally solid ground types in this dex
