Thanks for the vid even tho im late :P Would love to know which has better directional footstep sound for first person shooters like apex/csgo/pubg/cod kind of games where sound matters alot. i'm stuck between | HyperX Flight II/alphas orrrrr | Logitech pro headset | and i want comfort obviously but i would rather hear enemy footsteps or reloads alot more than the comfort haha i wanna get signed to a top tier org. ANYONE have experience with these and could give advice???! would be much appreciated. i wanna order soon so ill check often on here for a reply, thanks in advanced.. price range is under 130. decent mic but mainly directional sound to hear enemys. Atomtamer which did you get?? I went with g pro and I love it... better than the 200$ headsets mics I’ve had and probably the same sound quality for gaming. Not for music until you have a mic amp or dac but I love it overall. Happy with choice but idk what the cloud 2s or alphas are like tho so not discounting them, but pros are Basically as good as my old tritton 720s with an amp..

Alphas are better alot better than cloud 2 But i think they dont support 7.1 virtual surround sound Not sure if 7.1 vss is even real though i can hear anything around me perfectly
beast fxcade yes clearly Cloud 2 doesnt have a built in 7.1 surround sound system so its thr same as the alpha but the alpha has a more advanced audio driver which makes it the superior choice No you dont need to have virtual 7.1 surround sound to hear where the audio coming from I had a 7.1 surround sound headphones twice and i found the audio more enjoyable from the alphas

Landooon Gaming Yes! They are incredible! I’ve even been doing my monitoring for audio creation and they are balanced and accurate! They do so much more than just sounding incredible and clear for games! Music and movies sound WONDERFUL!

I bought revolver s but now I have to manage wire every time I play. I can't put them on my phone, feels lazy to unhook & hook. If I have to buy now, I would definitely go with wireless.

Thanks for this comparison, I've had the cloud and cloud 2s so this helped a lot in determining if I should get the alphas. Also completely agree with Kingston's customer service being top notch. My dog actually chewed up the detachable mic on my clouds and they were really nice and helpful in getting a replacement to me quick.

I decided to go with the Alpha's, simply because i like having the in line audio control, plus it's the same price as the Cloud II's right now, so i might as well get the latest version. This will be the most expensive headset I've bought but i'm more than willing to give Kingston a try, it seems like a well trusted brand.
Great review! It really helped me decide on what headphones I wanted and the Cloud Alphas are a no-brainer. Got them yesterday and I LOVE them! They are so light, but not a cheap feeling light. They feel premium when you hold them, and they feel light on your head. They are so comfortable, and they sound AMAZING!!! The only con that you mentioned is the cross-feed where people in game hear you. It is not the microphone itself picking up the sound playing into your headphones speakers. They are not open back, those holes don't leak audio AFAIK. Maybe you plugged them into your front panel connectors on your case and some people say that the electrical signals can get mixed up between headphones and microphone in front channel connectors. I did multiple tests by plugging it into my motherboard and there was no cross-feed. So basically there is nothing bad to say about these headphones! Great review, and you deserve way more than 1k subs.
Absolutely loved this review. I watched several others before this and the reviewers were so robotic. Then I stumble upon this dude who comes off so real with a genuine passion for sound. People, please don't delay and get yourself a pair of Alphas. I don't care if your budget is only 50 dollars. Save up and buy these. You will not be disappointed. They are that good. I tried four other pairs before this and even after hours of playing with my EQ settings these sounded better out of the box. They're also comfortable to boot. Huge win for HyperX and these do indeed make the rest of the lineup obsolete.
Arrtttuurri i have yet to have a problem with them yet. Really lovely fit when you adjust the headband, that might to be a problem, if you don’t adjust the headband sound can leak under. Definitely worth buying. Edit: as far as I can see he has the headphones to long down so sound comes out there.

Im at the same dilemma for quite a while now..never owned to be honest a gaming headset in my life and now with the ps5 coming i think its a good opportunity..how do they sound or how did they sound? Are they worth it in terms of comfort durability and sound? I see alpha’s have something called dual chambers does that make a difference between them and cloud 2?
@@jiris5709 Dual chambers provides better sound. They are a really good headset for gaming and music. The mic is pretty average but audio is top knotch.

@@jiris5709 I have the Hyper X Cloud Alpha, I would get them over anything on the market except for pure audio headsets like Steelseries/Audiotechnica etc. The Hyper X Cloud Alphas are definitely the best around for gaming. The sound from the headset is really good, it has a volume dial on the cord itself for extra volume, the bass is powerful and clear, not all distorted. They arn't 100% noise cancelling so it wont cut out every bit of backround noise unless you have them turned up a lot. I play games like RUST/ARMA3/Escape From Tarkov etc and for footsteps, hearing players,gun shots and direction, the hyper x do it best, they don't use shitty software for fake 7.1 surround like Razer/Logitech etc. Hope this answers all your questions bro.

I just bought cloud 2s and I’m very impressed by them. I’m on console by the way so I had to go with that since im always in party chat. One question is could I use the MixAmp I have for the Hyperx? Now I realize how much Astro’s are overrated and pricey. The mic quality is much better in the Hyperx and I want to say the headset audio too.

Hey, so this is for someone who has NOT bought any Hyperx products like me. I was so confused about the Cloud II and Cloud alpha. Everyone is saying 50/50 and you don't know who to believe. I had a problem with my old headset my ears started to burn every time I put them on but Cloud Alpha covers all around your ear what is so soft and comfortable. I was even between the Kraken 7.1 V2 Chrome (Haven't bought any Razer products too) but everyone said they break so quickly and are very uncomfortable to wear after a few hours. I went to the store and was gonna buy Cloud 2 but for the last second I changed my mind and got the Alpha version. I DO NOT regret this decision at all The sound is so clear even the bass is pretty good. I like the design too blackk&red. I spent 90euros on this and damn I like them so much. Finally, my ear is in heaven Thank you for reading this P.S sorry for my bad English

@@Shadoweee I have the Cloud 2 and it's stuck with me through p l e n t y of abuse for 3 years and only now has a small problem with the wire. Sometimes I'll hear a lot of static at once and I have to wrestle with the cord in order for it to stop, it's not like a charger where it has to be in a certain place it just I guess needs to realign or something is what it feels like. And that's on the 3rd year it started happening, I bet if I took better care of it, it wouldn't do that but otherwise. Literally everything from the sound to the comfort is still well worth $100 and if I didn't know any better I'd say it feels brand new. I know you said Cloud Alpha but if the Alphas are anything like the Cloud 2 as people say, it is well the purchase that will last years.

My 7.1 razer souround headsets juat broke and im planing to buy the alphas but since i dosn't have 7.1 souround i dont know if they are still good for hearing where footstep's, gunshots are comming from. Can you hear sound forward, backwards, left and right cleary? If so im getting the alphas!
I own the Alphas and previously owned the ll’s (They broke after two years) and these are the differences: Cloud ll’s: Slightly more comfortable if you have larger ears, 7.1 Alpha’s: Much better mic/sound, seemingly better build quality

Cerus98 You can get the 7.1 module separately but that would run you 130-140 dollars with the alphas, tottaly not worth the price IMO. Better of getting the clouds 2, dual chamber is just marketing, go look Damir Franc comparsion between alphas and clouds 2, he said that the clouds sound just better on the highs

RaunchyMikey the only problem with the alphas is they have a high impedance, higher then the controller can support. I went back to the cloud 2 especially now that the usb card is officially supported on PS4. Great video!
, After more research i decided to not buy this headsets because I am a console player and this are maybe fantastic with PC but i think not with my PS4. I decided to search for a wireless 7.1 Headset with good Mic Monitoring.
The cross talk has nothing to do with the design of the headset being open or closed back. I've been doing extensive testing on this myself with my original HyperX Cloud headset. The issue only exists in VOIP programs like Discord. If I run something like Windows Voice Recorder, it does not pick up any in game sounds. The exact cause is still a mystery, but I've determined that its not sound leakage from the headset itself. There are reports of this issue with various other headsets, not just HyperX products. I was able to determine that it was not sound leakage from the headset itself by using a USB microphone, actually the same Blue Yeti you have in front of you. Wearing the exact same headset to hear the game and listen to other people in Discord, they no longer heard the in game sounds being transmitted back through the microphone when using the USB mic. I did test using a 2nd 3.5mm microphone. I did this by connecting the mic jack from a different headset while leaving the audio jack for my Clouds connected for sound. Even with the other headset placed a good 10 feet away, its microphone was still transmitting the sound being played through my Clouds. Even though that was impossible since I keep my game volume low enough that I can't even hear it if I take my Cloud off and hold them next to my head. So that, combined with the fact that a USB mic didn't pick anything up, tells me there is signal cross talk happening. Its likely happening in the on board audio for my motherboard, I don't know what your setup is like, but I'm guessing you're just using on board audio as well. But the fact that other programs, like Windows Voice Recorder, filters out that signal cross talk tells me its an issue that Discord could easily fix. I will be trying a 3.5mm to USB adapter just for my microphone. If that fixes my problem, I'll know for sure its a hardware level signal cross talk issue that Discord is just unable to filter out like other programs can. Its also why you didn't have the issue with your Cloud II headset, since that's a USB connection.
I'm looking around for gaming headset to use for my PlayStation 4. You hit the nail on the head with your intro, as forums are starting to confuse me with seperate mics and headsets. I read that the hyperx cloud 2 has had an update letting you used the in-line sound controls. Does this now work? Which of the two headsets would people recommend? Also, how do both headsets connect to a PlayStation?
Until this headset will be available in my country I have few last questions about them: 1. How comfortable are after 2-3 hours of continuous use? Do you slightly sweat around ears? Compare comfort with HiperX Cloud II 2. Volume change on cable. Any issues so far? Lets be serious: scroll > buttons (Alpha vs Cloud II) 3. Most of the time I play games with music on, in this case Alpha is over Cloud II? Not very sure but 7.1 from Cloud II is bad for music playlists? (ik there's an on/off button for 7.1)

I owned tge 2 of them Hyperx cloud alpha is great for music and games The bass on the alpha is so goddamn good for music I can tell that tge cloud 2 is slightly more comfortable Tge cloud 2 is also amazing but for me I liked the alpha because of the amazing soundstage for games and the great bass for music I always open music while playing and it is amazing on the alphas

Thanks for this comparison, I've had the cloud and cloud 2s so this helped a lot in determining if I should get the alphas. Also completely agree with Kingston's customer service being top notch. My dog actually chewed up the detachable mic on my clouds and they were really nice and helpful in getting a replacement to me quick.

Great review! It really helped me decide on what headphones I wanted and the Cloud Alphas are a no-brainer. Got them yesterday and I LOVE them! They are so light, but not a cheap feeling light. They feel premium when you hold them, and they feel light on your head. They are so comfortable, and they sound AMAZING!!!
The only con that you mentioned is the cross-feed where people in game hear you. It is not the microphone itself picking up the sound playing into your headphones speakers. They are not open back, those holes don't leak audio AFAIK. Maybe you plugged them into your front panel connectors on your case and some people say that the electrical signals can get mixed up between headphones and microphone in front channel connectors. I did multiple tests by plugging it into my motherboard and there was no cross-feed.
So basically there is nothing bad to say about these headphones! Great review, and you deserve way more than 1k subs.

Absolutely loved this review. I watched several others before this and the reviewers were so robotic. Then I stumble upon this dude who comes off so real with a genuine passion for sound.
People, please don't delay and get yourself a pair of Alphas. I don't care if your budget is only 50 dollars. Save up and buy these. You will not be disappointed. They are that good. I tried four other pairs before this and even after hours of playing with my EQ settings these sounded better out of the box. They're also comfortable to boot. Huge win for HyperX and these do indeed make the rest of the lineup obsolete.

The crossfeedproblem is fixed if you look at the manual and take two/three fingers between the mic and mouth

Arrtttuurri i have yet to have a problem with them yet. Really lovely fit when you adjust the headband, that might to be a problem, if you don’t adjust the headband sound can leak under.
Definitely worth buying.
Edit: as far as I can see he has the headphones to long down so sound comes out there.

Im at the same dilemma for quite a while now..never owned to be honest a gaming headset in my life and now with the ps5 coming i think its a good opportunity..how do they sound or how did they sound? Are they worth it in terms of comfort durability and sound? I see alpha’s have something called dual chambers does that make a difference between them and cloud 2?
@@jiris5709 Dual chambers provides better sound. They are a really good headset for gaming and music. The mic is pretty average but audio is top knotch.

@@jiris5709 I have the Hyper X Cloud Alpha, I would get them over anything on the market except for pure audio headsets like Steelseries/Audiotechnica etc. The Hyper X Cloud Alphas are definitely the best around for gaming. The sound from the headset is really good, it has a volume dial on the cord itself for extra volume, the bass is powerful and clear, not all distorted. They arn't 100% noise cancelling so it wont cut out every bit of backround noise unless you have them turned up a lot. I play games like RUST/ARMA3/Escape From Tarkov etc and for footsteps, hearing players,gun shots and direction, the hyper x do it best, they don't use shitty software for fake 7.1 surround like Razer/Logitech etc. Hope this answers all your questions bro.

Hey, so this is for someone who has NOT bought any Hyperx products like me.
I was so confused about the Cloud II and Cloud alpha. Everyone is saying 50/50 and you don't know who to believe.
I had a problem with my old headset my ears started to burn every time I put them on but Cloud Alpha covers all around your ear what is so soft and comfortable.
I was even between the Kraken 7.1 V2 Chrome (Haven't bought any Razer products too) but everyone said they break so quickly and are very uncomfortable to wear after a few hours.
I went to the store and was gonna buy Cloud 2 but for the last second I changed my mind and got the Alpha version.
I DO NOT regret this decision at all
The sound is so clear even the bass is pretty good.
I like the design too blackk&red.
I spent 90euros on this and damn I like them so much.
Finally, my ear is in heaven

@@Shadoweee I have the Cloud 2 and it's stuck with me through p l e n t y of abuse for 3 years and only now has a small problem with the wire. Sometimes I'll hear a lot of static at once and I have to wrestle with the cord in order for it to stop, it's not like a charger where it has to be in a certain place it just I guess needs to realign or something is what it feels like. And that's on the 3rd year it started happening, I bet if I took better care of it, it wouldn't do that but otherwise. Literally everything from the sound to the comfort is still well worth $100 and if I didn't know any better I'd say it feels brand new. I know you said Cloud Alpha but if the Alphas are anything like the Cloud 2 as people say, it is well the purchase that will last years.

My 7.1 razer souround headsets juat broke and im planing to buy the alphas but since i dosn't have 7.1 souround i dont know if they are still good for hearing where footstep's, gunshots are comming from. Can you hear sound forward, backwards, left and right cleary? If so im getting the alphas!

I own the Alphas and previously owned the ll’s (They broke after two years) and these are the differences:
Cloud ll’s: Slightly more comfortable if you have larger ears, 7.1
Alpha’s: Much better mic/sound, seemingly better build quality

The cross talk has nothing to do with the design of the headset being open or closed back. I've been doing extensive testing on this myself with my original HyperX Cloud headset. The issue only exists in VOIP programs like Discord. If I run something like Windows Voice Recorder, it does not pick up any in game sounds.
The exact cause is still a mystery, but I've determined that its not sound leakage from the headset itself. There are reports of this issue with various other headsets, not just HyperX products. I was able to determine that it was not sound leakage from the headset itself by using a USB microphone, actually the same Blue Yeti you have in front of you. Wearing the exact same headset to hear the game and listen to other people in Discord, they no longer heard the in game sounds being transmitted back through the microphone when using the USB mic.
I did test using a 2nd 3.5mm microphone. I did this by connecting the mic jack from a different headset while leaving the audio jack for my Clouds connected for sound. Even with the other headset placed a good 10 feet away, its microphone was still transmitting the sound being played through my Clouds. Even though that was impossible since I keep my game volume low enough that I can't even hear it if I take my Cloud off and hold them next to my head.
So that, combined with the fact that a USB mic didn't pick anything up, tells me there is signal cross talk happening. Its likely happening in the on board audio for my motherboard, I don't know what your setup is like, but I'm guessing you're just using on board audio as well. But the fact that other programs, like Windows Voice Recorder, filters out that signal cross talk tells me its an issue that Discord could easily fix.
I will be trying a 3.5mm to USB adapter just for my microphone. If that fixes my problem, I'll know for sure its a hardware level signal cross talk issue that Discord is just unable to filter out like other programs can. Its also why you didn't have the issue with your Cloud II headset, since that's a USB connection.

Until this headset will be available in my country I have few last questions about them:
1. How comfortable are after 2-3 hours of continuous use? Do you slightly sweat around ears? Compare comfort with HiperX Cloud II
2. Volume change on cable. Any issues so far? Lets be serious: scroll > buttons (Alpha vs Cloud II)
3. Most of the time I play games with music on, in this case Alpha is over Cloud II? Not very sure but 7.1 from Cloud II is bad for music playlists? (ik there's an on/off button for 7.1)
i have the cloud 2s, they are fcking AMAZING for music imo, and yes you can turn 7.1 on and off but i even listen to music with 7.1 on ! amazing headset seriously
Cloud II is more comfortable. I think that's because of the new earcuffs of alpha. Cloud II have softer ear cuff IMO.
