spot on about the Akiba Mandarake, as someone 6 foot 3 and 250 pounds, I can barely walk down those aisles without turning my shoulders sideways...but there are a lot of shops in Akihabara like that
yes yes yes all about transformers...this is close to where we are staying in shinjuku....i got hit all those transformers......will go to akihabra first mandarake..then hit this mandarake location too
Wow those gundam and mazinger selections are amazing! By any chance, were you able to see any macross model kits/figures? I'll be heading to japan in december and hopefully I can find the figures I have been looking for for a while now in Mandarake.
Thanks for checking out my video. Did you take a look at my video from a few weeks ago “Best Toy Dept in Tokyo”? I believe there’s some Macross stuff in that video (although I could be mistaken). Another shop that has a pretty large Gundam selection and possibly Macross as well is the Yamada Labi in Ikebukuro. I’m going to be heading over there in October (I hope) for filming. Make sure you check it out. Definitely worth stopping by at when in Tokyo.
@@KaijuDaddyJapan Awesome! Thanks a bunch for replying. Already subscribed to ya, I'll be checking out your other videos later. And I'm looking up yamada labi right now and you're right it's huge! Will be adding it to my itinerary, thanks again! Edit: Just checked your best toy dept in tokyo vid, and yup there indeed was some macross kits there! Awesome, I'll really be having a field day buying stuff I might even need an extra luggage to bring em all home haha!
Japanese products are almost always cheaper here, which includes MAFEX. Hot Toys on the other hand, at retail, cost more in Japan than in USA which is mind boggling because the distributor of Hot Toys in Japan is…Hot Toys
Wooow thanks for this video ! Will be in September there and i saw some Gantz figures that i want to buy 🥹, can you tell me exactly where this store is ? Because they are 2 or 3 mandarake in ikebukoro , ? Thanks in advance ! 😃
Hi may I know which mandarake is this in ikebukuru. This is not the one with comic book n idol stuff right. How to go to this store and which exit should I use from ikebukuru station to go to this store. Thanks
It’s in B2 (I think) of Parco on the East side of Ikebukuro. Take the east exit and turn left and follow it to the end of the building then go to your left. You’ll see Parco there.
Thanks for checking out the video. Yes, Ikebukuro has a few Mandarake. Maybe the one you’re describing was near Sunshine City (across the street)? The one with the toys is in the basement of Parco on the east side of the station.
I’d actually recommend Mandarake Ikebukuro, Shibuya, Akihabara, and Nakano. BicCamera Akiba, Yodobashi Camera Yurakucho, and Yamada (Labi) in Ikebukuro if you’ve got time. They might not have “Robotech” but they’ll have the Japanese line (Macross for example).
They keep making newer scales and updated for MP Transformers and the G1 combiner teams. Yeah you are right, the stuff doesn't hold value esp. for those popular characters.
Most things made since the 90s don’t really hold value as a newer, better sculpted figure is sure to come along in a few years. Just gotta collect what you love and know when to say when.
Well, yes and no. Third party companies out of China are doing some great things these days. For licensed stuff, Japan is probably ahead of the game in 1/12. South Korea is starting to look good though. Love me some Hasbro Classified line
@@KaijuDaddyJapan I think it is the concentration of the anime atmosphere in Japan that makes it unique to many other countries. In Europe there is a strong sense football atmosphere almost everywhere which I find it very annoying (unpopular opinion, I know) but you can hardly see any reference to figures and anime. thanks for mentioning about American figures. Doing God’s work. Thank you for this. Been missing Japan for awhile. Would love some of that super sentai and Karen rider stuff. Loving this channel.

Awesome display, glare was bad but your commentary made it fun.
Thanks. The glare is a constant issue on these windows at Mandarake.
Loving the Disney and Sailor Moon displays! Which one would you say are the top 5 "girl toys" (Sailor Moon, Hello Kitty, etc) stores in Japan?]
Girls toys? Ummm, for new things, probably Toys R Us and Kiddy Land. For older things probably Mandarake
Thank you so much!@@KaijuDaddyJapan
I grew up with Star Blazers! Amazing
It was the best!

I was in Tokyo (and Osaka) last October for two weeks. How in the HECK did I pass up going to Ikebukuro?! Next time I guess.
Ikebukuro is the best kept secret in Tokyo. So much good stuff there that most tourists don’t know about.
I used to go to the Ikebukuro Mandarake but it mainly had male idol stuff and a few anime goods. Are there 2 stores in Ikebukuro?

Hi nice video! do you where is the best and complete store for super sentai? new or used.
do u know*
New stuff probably Toys R Us, Amazon, and the electronic stores’ toy departments. Used, go to Nakano Broadway
do you know if this store will have robotech toys?
I really don’t know if they’d have a toy with the Robotech packaging. However, there’s plenty of Macross stuff there and elsewhere

Maybe kaiju daddy is anti Digimon and I like you love Digimon.
It's sad ...if this was in the states, the store get stolen...makes me sad and ashamed knowing the states would ruin it for real toy collectors.
Unfortunately this is very true. I do appreciate being able to go into these stores and walk around in a place with so little worry about crime.
