      I've got a few keshi videos up, and some "junkbag" videos that contain Kinnikuman. Will definitely do more in the future!

    To my knowledge a piece of vintage is older than 12 years but it different to the age of the person so for me it would mean 57 years old is vintage for a 20 year old 32

      My kids have some Doraemon toys, but not really my thing. I've already got several other things that I collect. Maybe someday in the future my kids will start their own vintage Doraemon collections :P

    Hello, I saw you on two Latin American UA-cam Channels, Mad Hunter and Japan Geek, already and I think you have a great vibe and you know a lot about toys, perhaps it is my perspective but no talking feels weird, at least to me, there are many toys I do not know about and would be interesting hearing you talking about them, and if they are valuable or important to know why, it is cool sometimes UA-camrs just let us listen the background sounds and so, but to me at least was too much of only watching, which was good, but perhaps I am not used to, and love to learn more about the toys from your experience! This time I have not heard your voice so similar to Edward Norton’s 🤟🏼😉. Regards

      Hi Sergio! Thanks for the insight! I've done a few different versions of these hunting videos, some where I talk a lot, some where I just use the sound of the shops, or some where I used edited music. Everyone likes different aspects of each. If I am only filming something that I know a lot about, I will speak, however in large places like Nakano, unless I am making a specific video about one type of item there, there is just too much to talk about, so it's just for the atmosphere and eye candy. I try to do a few videos every month on specific toy lines and give as much information as possible. I like to keep it all an interesting variety of video styles and I'm glad that you are able to enjoy aspects of each and offer your opinions! It's invaluable information for me :) Thank you!!

    I like the keshi grab bags! Nothing cheap to buy at Mandrake (Akiharbara)

    • @TOKYOTOYBANZAI
      @TOKYOTOYBANZAI  3 роки тому +1

      If you look hard enough and have a wide range of things to collect, you can find some cheap stuff even at Akihabara... but yeah, Nakano has the best selection (outside of sofubi, which now goes to Mandarake Cocoo in Akihabara).

    I saw at least 4 bags of keshi I would have bought. Those two full of cars and vehicles especially! lol
    What were the large boxes at 16:00 for 800 yen?

    • @TOKYOTOYBANZAI
      @TOKYOTOYBANZAI  4 роки тому

      Sorry for the late reply Chris! Just seeing this comment! Those were vintage "Deluxe" DBZ Board games that came with keshi characters and lots of little accessories used for the games... they were initially from my collection, but I sold them to Mandarake after claiming the keshi, which is why they were so cheap.

    When did you choose to live in Japan,I know everyone has a different story from the JETProgram teaching English or just living there because they married one from the country. I've been in awe by Japanese Hobby Stores for years when I was a bit younger I watched a UA-camr named TokyoJosh who really got me exposed to the true beauty of this unique island nation. Sadly,Josh wiped his channel clean witch is a shame but with channels like you and channels like KidShoryuken shows me the beauty in Japanese hobby shops.

      I first visited Japan in 2003, but I didn't move here until 2005. Initially I came here to work as an apprentice/assistant for a manga studio. I actually did a video about it last year: ua-cam.com/video/aBgQz1Pvq5I/v-deo.html

    Is buying there worth it? Like is the price for each item too fair or no?

    • @TOKYOTOYBANZAI
      @TOKYOTOYBANZAI  4 роки тому +1

      Mandarake is usually pretty fair, and you can find great deals in some of the other side shops... but of course there are still hidden tourist traps within Broadway as well, usually located near the entrances of the first few floors... just have to keep a record of prices and hold off on buying until you've searched every nook for a better deal.

    • @TOKYOTOYBANZAI
      @TOKYOTOYBANZAI  4 роки тому

      That Biollante (1991 Bandai Bio-Biollante) isn't too hard to find here. They usually pop up for around 10,000yen ($100) loose, or 15,000 ($150) in box.
