I was expecting it too but in the end i thought out it may be too heavy and the throw would be dissapointing. Anyhow, pretty good job, looks awesome

Props to Kung Lao for being able to effortlessly throw something like that with precision and without cutting his own hand
He's not a normal human , he has to be super strong if he can rip of someones limb.
He can control it, make it hover or fly around him like a satellite

It’s mostly Earthrealm magic he (probably)picked up throughout his training at the Wu Shi academy with the White Lotus Society at the Temple of Light. His Arcana in the 2021 movie probably gave him the power to telepathically control his hat so he could use it without injuring himself when he catches it. It’s possible he also wears a special kind of fingerless gloves that helps him catch it without cutting himself.

Should plasma cut away 90% of the metal, leaving support spokes, and have a leather hat. The art of it is the thinness and weight.
Why has no one thought to make Kung Lao's bladed hat!? He's such an underrated character man. Would love to see Kitana's fan blades or Shao Kahn's warhammer be made.

Yep, hitting the like button before even seeing the vid. Not that I'm a MK fan. But anyone making a hat out of a saw blade gets my admiration!
And now having watched the vid....👏👏👏👏 Only thing that left me wanting more was making it wearable. IIWM, I'd make the leather disk, on the underside, with only a 1" hole in the middle. Maybe a number of smaller holes a couple inches out, around the middle hole, for ventilation. Attach it as you did, but dampen the leather and pull it down over your head or a ball to form it to sit on your head but so the metal doesn't contact your skull. Then a leather or silk ribbon/strap to tie in on. Or go further and make a leather woven basket, like the Asian style rice farmers hats. Just me thinking out loud here. Still love it as is!
This was a departure from what we expect, and I'm here for it! Looks amazing, and like a pain in the ass to make.

Vey cool build, and awesome result! I'd want some padding inside the helmet part for actually wearing the thing, especially if it was actually going to be used as a helmet... but that might be too practical a concern for something from MK.
