    Min 7:27 which store did you get the hardline from?

    is it possible to have both the stock handbrake and hydroE if the mounting position was different? Or does the duel caliper bracket force the deletion of the stock handbrake hardware on the rear caliper?

    • @MichaelBrown-gn3hk

      Im deciding to install a hydro in my frs. Would it be possible to go the inline method without loosing abs (disabling abs when needed) or loosing the stock handbrake?

    • @JonnyBarajas
      @JonnyBarajas  6 років тому

      The dual caliper bracket deletes the drum brake that is used for the stock handbrake. You could use both if you found out a way to have three brakes in the rear.

      Thanks for the reply, So if I went with a hydro with built in brake master cylinder and duel caliper I would loose stock handbrake, keep regular brake pressure and keep abs right? What would be the downside of installing an inline hydro brake? I would also loose stock handbrake but would I loose abs? I also heard that the rear brakes would also loose some feeling of pressure. Thanks

      @JonnyBarajas  6 років тому

      No pressure is lost if brake are bled properly. The problem of an inline handbrake is that in an emergency situation when you loose brake pressure do to leakes, cuts etc.., your emergency handbrake will also be affected.

      Thanks! I'm willing to sacrifice the stock handbrake and have duel caliper since I can keep abs. I saw online they also sell hydraulic locks, my idea now is to install a push button hydro lock between the hydro brake and calipers so I can use the new brakes as a hydro parking brake.

    I love your vids and your build (and other cars), but wouldn't it be better to run a hydro on a manual? Im assuming you installed the hydro to drift. Or are you doing a manual swap? Or or do you plan on drifting with an auto?

    • @isairoman22
      @isairoman22 6 років тому

      Bryan R it's still possible to drift with an auto. hydro don't need to be in a manual to work better all it does is lock the rear so you can drift.

    • @JonnyBarajas
      @JonnyBarajas  6 років тому +1

      Bryan R Thanks man! Check out my previous video and go to the end if you want to see me drifting it. The hydro is meant to lock the rear wheels and initiate a drift.

    It looks clean but I imagine would be a lot more awkward to use cause it gets in the way of shift movement and you end up having to reach backward a little instead of just moving your hand to the left

    • @JonnyBarajas
      @JonnyBarajas  4 роки тому

      It's placed in a way so it doesn't conflict at all with the shift boot. That was my biggest concern. Don't even notice it.

    Is the reservoir on your hydro handbrake a 3/4 or 5/8 bore?

    • @patrickschultz256
      @patrickschultz256 5 років тому

      If you are using the stock caliper you will need 5/8

    hi, for [7:30], what is the length measurement and fitment measurement

    • @JonnyBarajas
      @JonnyBarajas  4 роки тому

      I didn't plan on documenting exact measurements to follow. Used Cardboard to make a template. This is more of a proof of concept than an exact guide. Trial and error to get this to fit.

    So I have a question what if you need a parking brake ??????

    • @JonnyBarajas
      @JonnyBarajas  5 років тому

      You would need to avoid hills for parking, or just leave it in gear to prevent the car from rolling.

    Where did you buy the brake brackets ?

    • @JonnyBarajas
      @JonnyBarajas  3 роки тому +1

      If you are talking about the rear dual caliper setup, it's the "Dayton one" bracket.

    Drum break? My brz has disk brakes all the way around

    • @JonnyBarajas
      @JonnyBarajas  2 роки тому

      The rear is a combo drum brake/disk. The drum brake is used by the factory e-brake system.

    Why did you change your shift boot to look like a manual. I can tell its an auto

    • @JonnyBarajas
      @JonnyBarajas  6 років тому

      uriostegui gt86 I really like the manual shift boot but I prefer the auto. I've had two manual 86s, and didn't like them plus the stock manual transmission can't handle the power.
