I'm happy this game is on the switch. I have every hot shots golf game. Something about these games puts me in a happy place, makes me feel all warm and fuzzy inside. 😂😂
Just to explain the name thing - Hot Shot's golf was always called Everybody's Golf in the rest of the world, it was just Hot Shots here. With the PS4 version they finally decided to make our name match the rest of the world's names. Kinda like when Dragon Warrior got renamed to Dragon Quest here to match what it had always been in Japan. Sony owns the Hot Shots/Everybody's Golf series. So this game has a different name because it's not related to Sony's series, despite being from the same developers and playing similar.
Hot Shots Golf was a very underrated game. I believe it was the best gold game ever made. Mario golf is not as realistic. PGA golf just kept changing for the worst. Hot Shots was just fun to play and had amazing controls. I just played Easy Come Easy Golf for a few hours and I can't tell you for sure this is the best golf game on switch by far. I would give it a 8.7 out of ten. With the lack of good golf games this game is at the top of all them. No slowdowns. Load times are not overly long. And the gameplay is the best it's ever been. I am disappointed that game critics are overlooking this game, but today's game critics are just Payed for reviews. So I wound not trust them with anyway. Get This Game.

Late to the party on this one, wasn't aware of it. Love the series, since PS1 (showing my age) and was the reason I bought a PSP back in the day, just oozes fun! Never considered a Switch, got to get one now solely for this, nice!😁
In regards to the name change, Sony now cares more about their AAA titles and giving non-US studios a hard time. So Clap Hanz just decide to go on their own (and Japan Studio shut down). For Clap Handz's first time out they didn't do too bad. Making golf a team contest with one golfer per hole is a very interesting take (though you can go the 'traditional route.') I honestly don't mind the lack of music while on the course (older HSG games had great music). And you get to play 11 courses, which is outstanding. The only thing that I can say is missing is more rule sets for Tour mode. It needs to be spiced up. 20$ is cheap and if you are a casual golf fan try it out. I also have another thing to say but I'll keep it to myself (it isn't negative but just something I noticed).

You can customize the characters you unlock quite a bit. So there is that aspect of customization but I haven’t seen any build a character from the ground up options yet.

Glad you enjoyed the review! I’ve been playing it all day today and it just keeps getting better. The boss battles are great as well. I completely agree about the physical copy though… You should look on the limited run website maybe they will release one if ClapHandz doesn’t.
In fact, there is risk, and it's quite considerable. When you get past "max power" and go into the blue part of the power bar (or pull the analog stick all the way out in stick mode), you can try putting horizontal spin on the ball for a considerable boost in total distance. The problem is that with the horizontal spin the ball will move considerably away from its original trajectory, so you have to try to predict where it will land. While on the easier courses this is almost free on some holes, on the more difficult courses your margin for error will be super small.

Perhaps the game's title is a slight provocation to Sony, which didn't want to renew its exclusive contract with the guys or something.

I've always loved Everybodies Golf, I don't feel this game has been promoted enough, only found out it existed today... For sure going to download!

These game don't sell enough profit to keep funding it. The fact that this game starts at $20 at not 60 like their old games says all you need to know

So there is no create a golfer? You have to use and customize the premade characters?

The main menu only lists touch screen or button controls as options. Maybe they will add it later on.
I've missed Hot Shots Golf so much. Wish the game was also available on XBOX or something. Dunno what their beef was with Sony.

Honestly I didn’t clock it so I don’t want to misquote. Game ran smooth the entire capture though.
Another reviewer said that the switch version runs at 30 while the apple arcade version runs at 60
