I've been a muslim for 20 years (and still am) and I found Shabir Ally incredibly wise and profound. In my case, since I received the gift of studying the quran and islam I have no other choice left but to believe. I can understand some people may reject Islam according to what they heard (terrorism, violence, etc) and it doesn't change the fact that every one of us will be judged according to the life we spent, how we believed and how we did act. Allah is the most merciful and I sincerely hope He will forgive to way more people than we are willing to.
I believe He may forgive to people from other faiths, who are sincere, do their best and act accordingly, yet it doesn't change anything in my case. Since I already have received the last version of the religion "software", which is the same, turning my back or trying to downgrade to an earlier version would definitely be rejected in my case, God forbid.
Folks, what awaits us in the Afterlife is great and I try to do my best on a daily basis, by trying to do good to everyone and every living being, and I hope my actions (and yours!) are accepted by God to earn His Mercy. If not, well, if anyone who reads this comment is in the Paradise in the Hereafter, please remember me and ask God to make me enter and join you....

@@sutil5078 Shabir Ali has opposed the very foundations of Islam with this statement.
Certainty in the truthfulness of Islam is one of the seven conditions of the shahadah (testimony of faith).
      Proof from the Qur'an:
Only those are the believers who have believed in Allah and His Messenger, and afterward DOUBT NOT but strive with their wealth and their lives for the Cause of Allah. Those! They are the truthful.
Surah Al Hujurat (49) Verse 15
      Proof from the sunnah:
Narrated by Abu Huraira radiallahuý anhu that the messenger of Allah salalllahualiahiwasalam said:
The servant meeting Allah having testified that there is no deity worthy of worship except Allah and that I a his messenger, not DOUBTING them shall enter jannah.
      Sahih Muslim Book of imaan
The aforementioned evidences are a proof of shabir Ali's utter ignorance in relation to the very foundations of Islam. It completely disqualifies him from speaking about Islam.
Furthermore, when he debates with non Muslims (particularly atheists) he does so on false premises, which, if followed to its logical conclusion, would lead to the denial of the Devine Attributes of Allah.
This is better known as the rhetoric of ilm-ul-kalam.
So to summarise: Shabir Ali is an ignoramus who has no business speaking about Islam when he is completely uneducated in its fundamentals.
It's a real shame that many Muslims are unaware of this man's reality. May Allah save us from his misguidence.

Without those doubts I could not increase my knowledge of islam. Because if I don't ask questions then I can't firmly increase my faith.
I mean I could increase my faith like you, by blindly believing it.. But u know what happens with blind belief? You get lead astray by people who claim to know everything.
      You lose foundation of reality.
You could also lose sincerity in your belief too, as it would be similar to the pagans at the time of the prophet.. they try to deeply believe in their ways and remove all doubt.. until the truth came to them, and they lost in wars and were forced to rethink. So similarly do not be shocked by advances that might happen whilst you were closing your ears and eyes to logic just so that you can say you had no doubt.

Naive question but great answer. I'm not bragging about my faith but using reasoning you have got to come to a conclusion that God exists for many reasons..and then if you think objectively, you would know that God only introduced one religion that started with Adam and sent many prophets to teach people the truth and one message that God is one. You can see that consistency in all the scriptures of God. If you think sincerely you would come to a conclusion that Islam is the only religion that kept the message of God to its original form.

Of course, certainty has nothing to do with the truth. You can be certain for good reasons or certain for bad reasons (or for no reason at all).
For example, if you don't have even *one piece of good evidence* that your god actually exists, you clearly don't have a good reason for believing at all, let alone for being certain about it.
I regularly ask Christians _and_ Muslims for just *one piece of good evidence* that their god even exists. So far, their belief seems based on nothing but wishful-thinking. But maybe you'll be the exception?

I have to disagree with you Dr Shabir when you said absolute certainty is not possible. The Quran stresses the fact that the true believers have "Yaqeen" in the articles of faith which is absolute certainty. It is possible of course when you analyze the enumurable signs that God has given us proving the veracity of the Quran and the truthfulness of Prophet Mohammed. Add to this when we actually apply Islam in our lives God adds to this intellectual certainty that we have an added spiritual enlightenment that makes us see the articles of faith with our hearts with a greater resolution than we would with our eyes.

A saudi scholar has to say certain things to appease the government and to keep citizens inside certain restrictions and etc. He has nothing to gain from saying this. Absolute certainty is not possible. I agree with that. Luckily, I don't need absolute certainty. All I need is good evidence.
Worldwide, faith-based people _overwhelmingly_ believe in whatever religion and whatever god or gods they were taught to believe as children. That's just a fact. There's a reason why 80% of Italians are Christian, while 90% of Egyptians are Muslim and 83% of Indians are Hindu. And yes, you _all_ feel that you're correct. Obviously, we need more than just feelings.
"We should all be asking certain basic questions."
Yes, exactly. And that first basic question is: Do you have *one piece of good evidence* that a god actually exists? I don't want a Gish Gallop of vague claims, and I don't want a link to someone preaching. Sorry, but I simply can't take you seriously without even *one* piece of good evidence.
Most believers assume that there's a god - and not just any god, but the specific god they were taught to believe as children. And then they decide exactly what that god wants, which always turns out to be what the _believer_ wants.
Of course, the faith-based can't even agree with _each other_ about that. Why not? Is your god really that inept? Why is he the world's worst communicator? Shouldn't a _god_ at least be able to demonstrate that he _exists?_

The question is not whether Islam is the truth or not; ISLAM IS THE TRUTH
The question actually is "What is Islam", the real, the true Islam, the bare Islam?
When you say Islam, Shiites see their corpus of hadith's, shariah, rituals, social practices and persian civilization... Same for Sunnis.... Same for Khariji... Same for Wahhabi,.... Same for Hanafi...etc etc..
The same applies to Catholics, protestants, Anglicans, Presbyterians, etc...
The same applies to Buddhists, etc. Etc...
I tend to think that all those are only sects that are more or less close to Islam, more or less coherent with Islam; but they cannot be taken as "The Islam", obviously.
Please could someone rather explain what is Islam, The True, The Bare, The Perennial, The immutable Kernel Islam?
So far, I would say Islam is "submission to the principle of justice and equity" in order that there may be peace; that is the Kernel, that is the immutable element, that is the common denominator.
Is it not said in Quran that God, the Angels and those who know, all witness that there is no god but GOD and that ALL of them (I.e. including God) stand for Justice? ...
Different religions are only different ways and modalities of implementing that kernel under different circumstances, at different times and in different places... The same applies to our mazaahib we all label "ISLAM"...
None of these have the exclusivity they claim... But as far as they provide for justice and equity, they can claim some "Islamity"..

i seek refuge in ALLAH from rejected satan
In The Name of ALLAH The Most Magnificent The Most Merciful
Brother, you asked a question in your comment so i waited for few hours so that some answer is given to you but since nobody answered it yet, so i try as a student of Islam to answer though i'm not religious scholar.
The essence of Islam is Perfect, Absolute, Total & Wholesome denial of every deity except ALLAH SWT. This denial is represented by the word "La" of Kalima Tayyeba with ALLAH as the ONLY exception. So erase from your mind, heart, body & tongue all those deities which carry the perverted concepts of polytheists (mushrakeen). All the Holy Scriptures were revealed to erase the concepts of false deities but the satanic element in humans had been forgetting ALLAH SWT & that's why when the Holy Scriptures were amended, they erased the word "ALLAH" from Scriptures.
Holy Quran Says whenever ALLAH alone is talked about, polytheists are
unhappy why? because humans instinctively & unconsciously know that ALLAH SWT can not be dodged or fooled so satanic people don't find any scope for them in such a system which does not fool the masses. Since life is a test for everybody so ALLAH SWT does not intervene forcefully rather keeps on testing humans in the antagonism of Toheed & polytheism. There exists no Monotheism except Islam. Never believe that jews are Monotheists rather they are the people who erased the word ALLAH from their Holy books & they say that Uzair A.S was son of God. Not only this jews challenge the Sovereignty of ALLAH SWT by attributing limits & conditions on their own, to ALLAH SWT by saying ALLAH SWT can not send any Prophet in a tribe other than Bani-Israel. Whoever challenges the Sovereignty of ALLAH SWT is automatically a polytheist.
Now coming to various sects within Islam, there are differences in details about the verse of Holy Quran which instructs for seeking the "Waseela (resource or method)" for nearness to ALLAH SWT. Irrespective of which interpretation seems strong to you, the simple fact is that every Muslim tries to be near to ALLAH SWT in a world where polytheists could not afford the word ALLAH SWT while this was given to them in the Revelations as well as in the very nature of humans. All the infants before learning any language remember ALLAH SWT as all the words of infants ALLAH, LILLAH, LUHOO, HOO point to ALLAH SWT. Holy Quran Says "follow that nature in which ALLAH SWT created humans"
Summarily, Kalima Tayyeba is the essence of Islam & if anybody tries to seek Guidance by any other Book which does not speak about ALLAH SWT then he is not going near to ALLAH SWT. And also we must keep in mind that Holy Prophet SAWW did not allow Pious Caliph Omar R.A to study Bible & there is a famous saying of Pious Caliph Omar R.A that "burn the libraries, Quran is sufficient for us" this statement does not mean that he actually wants to burn libraries rather it ONLY means that by giving up Jargon of Holy Quran & without reading the pulse of your own time, you are only wasting your time rather you are scratching that part of your body where there is no rash, by reading those Revealed books which were not Revealed for you, which did not address you & you are not a subject of those books. Is it possible for any wise man that he wishes to know about Revelations & chooses those books which were revealed in those languages which are obsolete today? Is it possible for anybody who wishes to learn what Creator has to say about him & his time & he ignores Quran which Claims to be Eternal & for all mankind till Doomsday as Prophethood has finished? So what originality those books carry which can only be studied by translations? Put aside the amendments which jews made in the Holy Books, how can that Book be valid whose language is not a living language of humans?
      Peace on Holy Prophet SAWW
And our last claim is that "Praise be to ALLAH The Nourisher of worlds"

Thank you brother! I agree with you basically although I get lost a bit in the speech.
To put it simply, could we stick to verses [3: 18 - 19] {Aal Imran }:
      - that: God, the angels and those who know, all of them witness that "there is no deity but God" and they all "stand for JUSTICE"
      - and that: to God, "dyne is Islam" (i.e. submitting to God alone, who himself stands for Justice)...
      And emphasize verse 7:29 {Aaraaf}: "God ordained JUSTICE etc... " {"amara rabbi bill Qist"}
      Thus;
      - If you truly believe that "there no deity but God" (the one, unique and universal creator and Master of all that exist or might exist) and "you stand for JUSTICE" (as ordained by God), then you are fundamentally a Muslim, no matter what name you give to your religion.
      - If you remove JUSTICE from a religion, no matter what the name of that religion is,, the rest is empty words and lip service.
To me "Islam" (the real Islam) is a matter of FACTS (God is one, unique and universal) AND BEHAVIOUR (Justice and Equity); so that there may reign PEACE for all those who behave properly to enjoy the RAHMA of God (arRahman Raheem)... , It is NOT empty formulas and lip service.
      Again, brother thank you!

    • @ikoutou5382
      @ikoutou5382 5 років тому

Let us structure it as below.
Islam is fundamentally the following 3 things:
1). A FACT: that God, alone, is the Rabb el aalamine (The Master) the Rahman Raheem (Generous provider of all beneficence) and the Maliki Yawmi eddine (the Ultimate Provider of JUSTICE and EQUITY)
      2). A BEHAVIOUR: Obeing to God's Order (amara Rabbi bill Qist) and serving HIM by standing for JUSTICE;
      3) A RESULT: and that result you will get then is PEACE and RAHMA (You enter Daar Salam / Jannatou Na'îm)
      - If you are certain of and you trust the FACT (1) --> (Îman)
      - and you BEHAVE according to GOD's order to stand for Justice and Equity (amara rabbi bill Qist) --> (Islam)
      - The RESULT for you will be Peace and Eternal satisfaction --> "salaam" in "jannatou Na'îm"

Sorry, i don't agree with your points & please find below my observations on your points,
      1. The word ALLAH can not be translated in describing Essence & Principles of Islam.
      2. Islam requires the obedience of ALLAH SWT & HIS Prophet Muhammad SAWW. Hence Sunnah of Holy Prophet SAWW is the Absolutely Essential Requirement of Holy Quran. No behavior can be said as Islamic if it ignores/ violates Sunnah. Holy Quran has insistingly described this fact & by excluding Sunnah of Holy Prophet SAWW, the whole of Quran gets violated in Principle.
      3. Even the Jannah can NOT be independently achieved by any individual or nation without Shafa'at of Holy Prophet SAWW.

His first three points have absolutely nothing to say about Islam specifically, but merely theism in general. The rest of his response - about evidence - demonstrates absolutely nothing through logic. He merely describes what he believes. This video title is incredibly misleading, or else they think their audience is incredibly naive and gullible, or else they are incredibly bad at understanding the truth (that there are absolutely no good reasons to believe that Islam is true).
I studied Islam for many years after leaving Catholicism in my teens, and I was very open to it. After several decades of studying philosophy and practicing as a psychoanalyst, I can say now (as a revert) that Catholicism has no rival in terms of logical coherence, reason, and evidence. Islam lacks all of these things, which is why it is mainly converting many people in desperate and impoverished situations (not intellectuals). No offense meant to Dr. Shabir, as this video may be clipped prematurely or out of context. But nothing about it is enlightening or revealing of Islamic truth.

    Shabir I have some questions?
Muslims quote an article written in 1957 by the Jehovah's Witnesses who stated there were 50,000 errors in the translation of the King James version. My question is: Even if this were true, (which of course it is not), how does this prove there is corruption in the original Greek MSS from which the King James version was translated?
Muslims chide Christians because the earliest complete copies of the Bible were written 300 years after the originals of the first century. Yet Muslim scholars state the earliest copy of the Koran was written no earlier than 150 years after Muhammad died. My question is: in light of this fact, how could the Koran possibly be better than the Bible and would you please state the name and location and date of the earliest Koran you believe to be in existence?
Koran 5:116, represents Christians as worshipping Mary which is a historical error. Given the fact that the pagan Arabs did worship Mary's idol in the Kaba, and that history records no group of Christians had ever worshiped Mary at this time, my question is would you please name the sect of Christians who worshiped Mary at the time of Muhammad?
How can Muslims claim there are no textual variations in the Koran, when the Tashkent MSS differs from the modern Egyptian Qur'an in 5 passages: 2:284, 2:283, 3:37, 3:109 and 5:119. The Tashkent MSS uses the word 'Allah' while the modern Egyptian Qur'an, uses the word 'huwa' (the pronoun 'he'). My question is: Which word do you believe are in the "preserved master tablet" and "mother of all books" in heaven?
In Jude 3; 2 Peter 1:3; John 16:13 and 2 Tim 3:16 the Bible is called an all sufficient book with no need for anything else in regards to how we live our lives or worship God. You claim the same thing for the Qur'an. My question is: how can the Qur'an be all sufficient in our worship of Allah, if it does not even mention something as important as praying five times a day and does this not prove that the Koran without the Hadith is like a car without an engine?
The Bible defines a miracle as something that defies the laws of nature. Muslims claim the Koran is a miracle merely because it was allegedly transmitted perfectly without alteration and flaw till the second coming. Since the Harry Potter books will certainly be transmitted perfectly without alteration or flaw, and be around until the second coming, my question is: does this make the Harry Potter books a miracle like the Koran?

First of all, I am neither Christian nor am Muslim. Before I make my statement, I want to say that I mention Bible first before Quran because it is how you properly order in English, "B before Q." So don't make accusations that I am Christian because I am not. Okay here it is, in Quran 19 it states that "We give you a PURE boy (Jesus) to be a sign and a mercy for the people from Us." Some of you , both Christians and Muslims (C before M), may know that "We" and "Us" is God. Does that mean God is a multiple Gods? Nope. Some of you may understand that God has two angelic beings and He is in them. God is in them, and they're His messengers. Yes both Bible and Quran support that, 100%. However, there are many angels in Him and He is in them. So why two angels to start with? Simply because according to both Bible and Quran, there is one male angel and one female angel in perfect union. In God's form, one male angel and one female angel in perfect union is made known to Mary with their message "We give you a PURE boy (Jesus) to be a sign and a mercy for the people from Us." What is this sign that both Bible and Quran speak of? That is the sign of Allah which is the consuming fire or Light hidden inside or dwells inside the two angels (perfect in union). Basically to say that Jesus is the sign is in other words he's Allah because Jesus is the sign of Allah and only the sign of Allah is Allah. Is that blasphemy to you Muslims? Listen carefully, "We give you a PURE boy" ... he's PURE right? Read Quran 50-53, there are scriptures that explain what a pure child is and that those born of humans aren't PURE. It is very clear to connect the dots, PURE CHILD = NOT HUMAN and HUMAN CHILD = NOT PURE. Does that mean it contradict the truth? Nope. It is simply because Jesus is God, and God is PURE. There are several scriptures that say "The Lord Almighty has sent Me to you." The form of God is two angelic beings and the sign of Allah is in their womb, where the sign of Allah is hidden/dwells inside the angelic beings perfect in union. If you can't accept that, then Quran contradict itself. However, these Quran scriptures I shared are the truth. THere's only way to make it both sense is to acknowledge that God did send Himself to you. As for why Jesus was replaced with another man who resembled him. It is because Jesus transformed into the angelic being that resembled him as he ascended into heaven. Of course he looked just like him.

I dont agree with what bro Shabir says.
Let’s say that a prophet was sent in our current time and he does some miricles and proofs that he is a prophet sent by God. Because a prophet is not a prophet until he comes with clear signs otherwise everyone can claim that he is a prophet.
So from here on the certainty has been made. We know for 100% that the person who is claiming to be a prophet is actually a prophet.
After his death, the only evidence he leaves is his message that can be used scientifically to proof his authenticity. Also other info can be used to proof his authenticity like historical data etc.
So I would say examining the message is the only way to confirm the certainty of God’s existence. That’s how God wanted to relay his existence to us.

Jesus was sinless and sacrificed his life for us. Jesus also atoned for our sins. False doctrines and religions do not lead to heaven, they are only sufficient for hell. Only God's guidance leads to salvation. God's justification opens the door for the sinner and he is received into paradise. A Muslim who turns to God in faith and repentance and confesses his sins before God is forgiven by faith alone, by grace alone, without the work of the law. Whoever believes that Jesus is the promised Messiah, Savior, God-like man and true God, the way is the truth and the life. In conclusion, I must say that no one will go to heaven if they deny the salvation that Jesus deserves, they will end up in eternal hell fire.

2Pe 1:19 KJV We have also a more sure word of prophecy; whereunto ye do well that ye take heed, as unto a light that shineth in a dark place, until the day dawn, and the day star arise in your hearts:

Nope sorry Christianity is the only way
    It has
    -Historical evidence (the resurrection)
    -Miracles (watch UA-cam -Testimonies)
    -near death experiences(mention always Jesus)
    -Jesus actually appears to people
