This is great work! A note about Bob Ross. He served admirably in the US Air Force from 1961-1981. When someone remarked about his "happy little trees" and everything in his paintings being happy, he said "That's why I paint. It's because I can create the kind of world that I want, and I can make this world as happy as I want it. Shoot, if you want bad stuff, watch the news." Good for him!

@DreamWarriorFish sadly its not as the modifier stack etc needs original base data to work with. Also sorting out what needs to be loded and how is then the next thing. Afterall the camera is just one perspective
@@EarmWermChannel because theyre instanced. You can do the same with blender by instancing em out of a ref file. Try polyediting that multi mil monster at full res tho (which in blender you have to do separate in the master ) in c4d your lucky the task keeps responding at some point.

You know what would be an interesting video? Making Skull Island (from 2005’s King Kong film). There are these massive thick vines and giant jungle-like trees that decorate a very very jagged and rocky landscape that I haven’t been able to see anyone really recreate! I think it’s similar to these nature videos but also uniquely different!

This looks absolutely Impressive! This 5-second animation is more impressive than most 2-hour Movies from lately, because of how Real it looks. You could have lied to me that this is an actual video you recorded in a Real location, with just your Camera, Travel Gear and nothing else, and I would've Immidiately believed you without ever even Thinking of questioning this. This is how real the animation looks. If I worked as a movie director, I would show this video to everyone in the studio near the beginning of the movie making process.
Soooo... Instead of 1 frame every 6 minutes (0.0028 frames per second), rendering that same image in 90+ frames per second ? Yeah, he'd just need to increase his framerate by a factor of 32400x. Easy.
@@readyforlol better option, you dont have to interact or walk in any of it, just be surrounded so take a rendered 3d looping animation of it and then wait a week for results! then when its rendered all the hard works done and its back to just 360 video

Very impressive. Im an artist and was telling my 9 year old this evening that I used to watch Bob paint on tv years ago then came across this. I used to play around with C4D a little once. I remember when I was learning how to make landscapes and other stuff my pc had folders full of hundreds of textures ide downloaded and edited. I'll probably get back into it when my kids are older and I have more time. Great job Bob and his fluffy hair would of been well impressed :)
Easter Egg: 13:23 Bob Ross is in his canoe. Hard to see He is towards the bottom left of the screen on the water in the canoe. An easy way to find this is to look straight towards the center of the screen and then under the dark pointy trees follow the water line that meets the land. Pass the rocky area moving your eyes to the left and then when the land of the left is starting to become out of view from the trees leaves in the foreground, you will see Bob Ross in his canoe. EDIT: This will be very hard to see on your phone.
For what it's worth, Bob always did a copy of the painting he was taping beforehand and had that off screen as a reference. Funnily enough, he didn't stop there either, after the painting done for the show, he'd do a 3rd version, with a professional photographer looking over his shoulder taking shots at strategic points throughout to use in his step-by-step instructional book series. And even the first test painting would come after a day or so of painstaking planning. He may have made the process look effortless, but it was anything but. They are always the product of a thorough and meticulous mind that was always striving to perfect his performance.
@@ako_0256 Unfortunately it is not that simple. Cycles is a Path Tracer, Evee is a Rasterizer. No matter how much you try, Evee will never look as good as Cycles. The plugin that cgmatter showcased brings SSGI, which is basically a worse Global Illumination for real time. Also, for the guy with the laptop with 4GB of RAM, this scene is impossible to handle. There is so much geometry here that it will fill up those 4GB in no time. Probably just the mountain is enough to crash Blender.
@@vladchira521 As CG geek said, there are a lot of duplicates of trees and bushes and grass. In the video of speeding up cycles by Blender Guru, he told us about Object instancing. To do that, just use Shift+D to duplicate. What it does is that during the initialisation of the render, a cube for example is loaded into the memory only once but that data in the memory is used multiple times. This works well on laptops with 4gb ram and in projects where we have to mass-duplicate a mesh. Particles work in the same way. And yes the plugin I advised earlier enables SSGI in Eevee, but the output is fairly comparable to Cycles. Hope this is informative.

If you look really closely you can find a couple minor mistakes, but what he did was INSANE.

He wasn't missing paint, he almost always uses "liquid white" as a base so he can blend colors "wet on wet"

Bob Ross is in his canoe. Hard to see
He is towards the bottom left of the screen on the water in the canoe. An easy way to find this is to look straight towards the center of the screen and then under the dark pointy trees follow the water line that meets the land. Pass the rocky area moving your eyes to the left and then when the land of the left is starting to become out of view from the trees leaves in the foreground, you will see Bob Ross in his canoe.

For what it's worth, Bob always did a copy of the painting he was taping beforehand and had that off screen as a reference. Funnily enough, he didn't stop there either, after the painting done for the show, he'd do a 3rd version, with a professional photographer looking over his shoulder taking shots at strategic points throughout to use in his step-by-step instructional book series. And even the first test painting would come after a day or so of painstaking planning. He may have made the process look effortless, but it was anything but. They are always the product of a thorough and meticulous mind that was always striving to perfect his performance.

@@ako_0256 Unfortunately it is not that simple. Cycles is a Path Tracer, Evee is a Rasterizer. No matter how much you try, Evee will never look as good as Cycles. The plugin that cgmatter showcased brings SSGI, which is basically a worse Global Illumination for real time.
Also, for the guy with the laptop with 4GB of RAM, this scene is impossible to handle. There is so much geometry here that it will fill up those 4GB in no time. Probably just the mountain is enough to crash Blender.
@@vladchira521 As CG geek said, there are a lot of duplicates of trees and bushes and grass. In the video of speeding up cycles by Blender Guru, he told us about Object instancing. To do that, just use Shift+D to duplicate. What it does is that during the initialisation of the render, a cube for example is loaded into the memory only once but that data in the memory is used multiple times. This works well on laptops with 4gb ram and in projects where we have to mass-duplicate a mesh. Particles work in the same way. And yes the plugin I advised earlier enables SSGI in Eevee, but the output is fairly comparable to Cycles. Hope this is informative.
