Imagine a VR game where you start by standing in a blank space, then suddenly you hear Bob's voice and start seeing things appear around you as he's painting them on his canvas.
This is great work! A note about Bob Ross. He served admirably in the US Air Force from 1961-1981. When someone remarked about his "happy little trees" and everything in his paintings being happy, he said "That's why I paint. It's because I can create the kind of world that I want, and I can make this world as happy as I want it. Shoot, if you want bad stuff, watch the news." Good for him!
"served admirably in the US air force" Me:"okay know just bap bap nap a little beautiful explosion adds a bit more beauty to the war scene doesn't it? And every explosion needs a little friend shall we create some more?"
This is Genius bro. No like seriously genius. I absolutely love Bob Ross. I went through about 2 years of severe insomnia and Bob Ross was the only thing that could help me sleep so I have a soft spot for Ol Bob. To see his creations come to life just blew my mind. If Bob Ross were still alive this would make him cry. Well done my friend
Been a Bob Ross fan since he was on T.V. (a loooong time ago!) I gotta say, I'm impressed! This is just gorgeous and I do believe that Bob Ross would have been very pleased! Great job!!! Thanks.
Reminder that Bob Ross served 20 years in the US Air Force and reached the rank of master sergeant before starting his painting career. Thank you for your service Bob!
This looks absolutely Impressive! This 5-second animation is more impressive than most 2-hour Movies from lately, because of how Real it looks. You could have lied to me that this is an actual video you recorded in a Real location, with just your Camera, Travel Gear and nothing else, and I would've Immidiately believed you without ever even Thinking of questioning this. This is how real the animation looks. If I worked as a movie director, I would show this video to everyone in the studio near the beginning of the movie making process.
For what it's worth, Bob always did a copy of the painting he was taping beforehand and had that off screen as a reference. Funnily enough, he didn't stop there either, after the painting done for the show, he'd do a 3rd version, with a professional photographer looking over his shoulder taking shots at strategic points throughout to use in his step-by-step instructional book series. And even the first test painting would come after a day or so of painstaking planning. He may have made the process look effortless, but it was anything but. They are always the product of a thorough and meticulous mind that was always striving to perfect his performance.
13:03 - So incredible... ! you literally brought his painting to life, it's shockingly awesome ! And it looks just like the real painting but in full blown 3d CGI, everything in it works perfectly and wonderfully together, excellent.
Everyone's amazed at the Bob Ross 3d landscape. I'm amazed at how brightly coloured this dudes eyes are, they look like such a bright sea green o.o They're distracting
While I know that you're doing this specifically because it's Bob Ross, have you thought about trying to recreate the landscapes of other painters? I think that a Thomas Kinkade painting would translate amazingly to Blender. He was famous for how he was able to painting lighting that looked realistic, so much so that he was also referred to as "The Painter of Light". Specifically I think that the paintings "Mountain Majesty" or literally any of his cabin paintings would translate amazingly to Blender.
This video truly transformed my life. I became captivated by 3D animations after watching it. Fast forward three years, and I now earn a decent income solely from Blender. I've transitioned into a full-time 3D artist. Thank you, CG Geek, for changing my life.
FUUU, your videos are more valuable than what skillshare has to offer when it comes to blender lol. But, it has other uses besides that so... Respect. Love the videos :)
Do you work with any video game companies?? It would be so sick if you made an open world game with your talent. Shit, even if it's literally just a game where you walk around a landscape and do nothing. That would make for an amazing VR experience.
Using assets would be cheating, but this was just him intelligently using his tools. The photoscans are a smart way to time-optimize while keeping quality high. And there still was plenty of modeling here. I've seen other Bob Ross recreation videos that far lazier.
Great work.. much respect... also to BOB.. So happy to see how Bob touched so many generations to paint, and explore art.. Happy trees to you all... Much respect... #Blender
Not bad. Mature pine tree stems don't move at all in normal wind though. Camera shake was a touch too heavy too. The black level of the video of you could benefit from lowering and the mountain snow should probably be brighter than your arm.
