Great video! Just what I needed to give me the confidence to proceed. I was a bit stumped by the brake lever setup and didn't want to force anything, but your video solved everything. I think Evotech gear is first-rate, my bike has several Evotech parts like yours, but the instructions are often a little vague at times, I think if they made videos like this it would be much better for everyone! Very grateful to you. P.S. I notice below that others had exactly the same issue as I had, Evotech please take note!

Thanks! I was stuck in the brake lever on my 660 Tuono. That really helped, you showing that I needed to know the bushing out to rescue the plunger. Cheers

I should have watched this before I attempted to do it myself with just the Evotech instructions 😅 they were lacking to say the least. Could have saved me a few scratches from struggling with the clutch lever/cable and figuring out how to get the brake actuator off the original lever.

Yes I watched a few older videos from YT and got a better sense of how to attempt this job. The instructions left me wondering especially about the brake actuator removal so it was nice to be able to remove it smoothly without the need of a special tool 👍. Nonetheless I hope you’re enjoying the new levers!

On the brake lever boot I had to use small needle nose to spread open the boot to get the pin in. Hope that helps.

Cheers for this , Comparing the positioning / shape of the OEM to the EvoTech , I've noticed there is negligible difference - This appears to be an aesthetic touch. Anyone know of a lever that has a bend making the lever closer but without having to shorten the braking leverage fulcrum point?

Very good video, but I haven't quite decided for my RS660, because I have seen many complaints that when turning the steering wheel, the brake lever touches a molding on the motorcycle 🙂

That’s interesting to hear. On my Tuono V4 Factory 1100 I have no clearance issues. Might be a handle bar vs clip ons issue. I imagine where the clip ons and fearing has closer tolerances but with a bit of additional adjustments would work out. Sounds like a good YT video to make!

@@conceptanddesigntheory Thanks for answering bro, I like to use the best for my Aprilia, and always before ordering something I make sure that it doesn't affect my RS660, I order almost everything in AF1 racing and they explain this problem in the specifications, regards bro 😎

@@ianjoe9909 thanks for the heads up and I see the comment on af1racing website which is my favorite place for our Aprilia’s. Definitely a valid concern and need to either remove that trim piece or modify it. Much appreciated bringing this note up for rsv4 and rs660 +21 MY vehicles 👏

Great instruction! How does the reach compare to the OEM lever? I find the OEM lever to be a bit too far away even if it's adjusted to closest position.

Did you have to readjust anything with the quick shifter afterwards? The Aprilia manual warns that you might have to?
Also, i do not like the folding feature as i think it is dangerous. Can you lock them so they do not fold at all?
When you put the pin in on the brake side, how do you know it is in? Does it click or something?

    • @conceptanddesigntheory
      @conceptanddesigntheory  Рік тому +1

I didn’t need to adjust the QuickShifter just to make sure the clutch lever tension was correct per owners manual. If this is not adjusted correctly then you can have quick shifter issues.
The folding feature folds up not down so this never folds for me during normal operation and is a safeguard that if I fall that I can continue riding with a functional lever in mild to moderate falls which is especially helpful in track riding.
Yes once you place the pin on the brake side it slides right in place stays solidly in the mounting recess 👍

@@conceptanddesigntheory thank you. If you tighten the bold on the levers to the max, will it make them not to fold? I would rather have them fixed.

I did the install but the brake light activates late, around 30-40% of max brake pressure. Should be a lot sooner. Do you have this issue? How can i adjust the front brake so the brake light comes on at 2-5% of brake pressure?
