  • Video is from the CIK-FIA european championship in Superkart held at Le Mans 30th of September 2012.
I start in second position position and take the start. 4-5 drivers hit each other in the first corner and the safety car is deployed. I win the race with 5,5 seconds.
The Superkart I drive has a 250 ccm, 2 stroke, 2 cylinder, PVP engine.
Chassis is also made by PVP. The kart has aprox. 100 HP and does around 250 km/h as topspeed.

Wow, 35.6, 35.7, 35.7, 35.9, 36.2. This guy is so good you can actually watch the tires go away simply by watching the stopwatch. He's a machine. Some of the smoothest driving and most consistantly on line I've ever seen in a kart, ever. Even when the thing slides on him and he misses the entry by a little bit, he still maintains momentum and saves the lap.

It´s like rugby and American Football. Football without gear is suicide like F1 without protection is suicide as well. Rugby and Kart are simply not too dangerous. It also looks more dangerous on tape/video than it really is. Otherwise, there would be more safety things.

I guess the top speeds at Le Mans version short are not very high by superkarting standards (of course 220 kph in a small vehicle is still outrageous). The 2-cycle sound is fabulous! The kart setup is perfect - not much steering input required, some oversteer. I've enjoyed watching - NICE! Thank you!

I reckon that to drive this kind of go-kart is as difficult as a GP2 car, even though the top speed is lower. Yet the level of dangerousness is higher, due to the lack of proper protections for drivers.

    1) How old are you?

Nothing amazing about it. Excellent drive, but comparing Marquez to this bloke is insane. One is on a bike that will only allow a certain speed through corners and the other has 4 wheels is an inch of the ground and cuts through corners like a hot knife through butter. I used to race SuperKarts a while back and the corner speed is enough to push the air out of your lungs. I also race bikes (now). All that said, great drive mate.

it never occurred to me a clutch to be on a steering wheel. what a clever design! so right foot on gas, left foot on brake all the time? it can up/downshift without clutch right? what happens if you spin, do you have to pull a clutch to keep engine running? does it have a starter motor?

The motor is a V or a twin (side by side) one crank or two? If you could get a 125 cc moto world championship the power could be about 130 HP

That looks intense. That thing jumps around like crazy and flies like a son-of-a-gun! Looks like you could even use a little bit longer 6th gear. I'm no expert but that thing tops out pretty quick and 5th and 6th seem a little too close to me. I don't know if you do gear changes to fit specific tracks or have set ratios. Im sure you are much wiser than I.. lol

Most people fail to realize that a second hand used 5K dollar 250cc Shift Kart off Ebay is the closest thing to an F1 car you will ever have the opportunity to drive.... There are video's here on youtube of these things lapping 200K$ Ferrari's 5 seconds per lap.. They are ridiculously high performance road machines... A 250cc two stroke shift Kart will run sub 12 second quarter mile times.

No, you can do the frame but it has to fulfill some rules about dimensions, brakes etc.
The engine needs to be homologated and approved for Superkart. This you have to buy specific.
      go look at www.pvpkart.com
