- Ok guys in this video I will be removing the old 4.3L and 700r4 transmission getting ready for the LS swap. I have a lot of work ahead of me cleaning the frame paint the tubs and getting the suspension ready with new parts. Keep up the hard work, very good first video for the obs swap. I have a 93 obs 5.7 however I want to do an LS 5.3 swap. And I haven’t found a solid video that explains step by step. I have a good feeling you will bro once again keep it up !

It’s been sitting to be honest with you bro my wife went back to work and I now take care of the kids on my days off from work so it leaves me little to now time to make new videos but I did just get some outside led work lights for outdoors so I will try recording at night after work hopefully it come out ok but yes it’s been killing me not finishing my truck I have to figure it out ….. thank you for the support bro I appreciate you 💯
@@LowLifeYonkes I hear ya brotha I have a 91 under construction also got that 5.3 ready to go. Just finished the stand alone harness.I seen you started that steering rod to get rid of that rag joint, can't you use a jeep cheerokee mid nineties?
@@adamosborne4053 yes u can use a the Jeep Cherokee steering shaft but I couldn’t find 1 so I went with Cunningham machine

They are GM transport wheels kinda hard to find now as they are not made anymore

My old craftsman 1 nothing fancy it just works no battery required

What are you you planning on using for the rag joint eliminator?
I was going with a 84-94 Jeep steering shaft but I couldn’t fine any at 5 different junkyards so I just ordered one from Cunningham machining it’s a half shaft with a u-joint on end …. Thank you for watching I appreciate it
@@LowLifeYonkes Absolutely! I'll have to look into that steering shaft upgrade. I'm in the process of tearing apart my 89 OBS. About at the same point you are. Got all new front suspension, but didn't think about the steering shaft.

I’ve got a question can you pass smog with a ls swap in Cali? I have a 5.7 in my Obs and didn’t know I can do an ls swap
I was just going to either rebuild the 5.7 or buy a new 5.7 and rebuild the transmission
Yes you can it has to be smog legal all stock and u have to take to the state ref. For inspection and they will put a tag on the door that’s says all the information of the vehicle with the LS engine
