@Edward Kyrie thanks so much for your reply. I got to the site through google and I'm trying it out atm. Seems to take a while so I will get back to you later with my results.
Thanks a lot to you from me. You have maked a very important and also informative video about upgraiding my new notebook. Some moments about screws in the back i did not know. THANKS A LOT FOR THIS VIDEO !
Excellent step-by-step video! I wish I had seen it before I performed my upgrade. I had trouble removing the back cover, as many of the videos don't show the best place to insert the tool and how much force is required to release the clamps.

Very clear explanation and good quality disassembly/upgrade video. If you have the chance, please a ssd upgrade and re-pasting video for MSI GP75. Thanks!
so that's how you disconnect the battery -_- i just upgraded my RAM and add SATA SSD without disconnecting it, because the cable was so hard i was afraid i'll break it. by the way the new model came in with SATA cable already installed along with a dummy HDD with screws attached to it. even tough i didn't disconnect the battery, fortunately my laptop is fine
Same. Ultimately I decided to detach the ribbon cable first because of how fragile it looked. I wish Lenovo didn't include the dummy plastic HDD. I kept thinking that I could install the SSD directly without removing the bracket.

Hello PhilsComputerRepository, 1st of all I want to thank You for such a good and detailed video. I have a question, is it possible to put the SATA SSD to HDD bay?
I connected healthy SSD drive as additional drive with two cables NBX0001M410 and NBX0001TC00. System/date in BIOS is correct, I switched from UEFI to Legacy, but my additional SSD is not recognized nor by BIOS, neither by Windows. Lenovo Y530 ICH-15. This SSD is working in other laptop. Any clues?
Does this model support gen 3 nvme 1.4? This laptop has comes with a gen 3 nvme 1.3 drive, those are slighty more rare to find so I want to know if I can buy a 1.4 one.
Yes. It would be best to remove the battery connector for safety purposes. As it might cause short circuit and might fry the motherboard and its components
Are the cooling fans on Y530 and Y540 the same? I own y540 and the fans require replacement, but I'm only able to find fans of y530 in the store near me. Can I use them instead? Because they look kinda similar. Will it work the same?
Ok before you would turn on the laptop, is it more beneficial to go into bias mode after you installed new components onto the laptop. Or do you need to? do you need to go into bias mode before or after? I'm still confused with the concept of the bias mode.
You don't need to go into BIOS, it's just to be sure everything is OK before you actually tighten the screws. You'll be able to see your new RAM or HDD or SSD or whatever you upgrade just from windows itself.

Can I install 8gb(stock) + 32gb/16gb(crucial or sth else) = total(40gb/24gb)? I mean by only considering the same frequency of RAM cards and not having the same size.
Hello there, you should check, how many SO-DIMM slots are used in this particular configuration(however I think that this is 1x8G and 1x4G; in this case you can't upgrade to 28G, without buying 2 ram sticks and throwing out older ones) Check available slots in Windows' Task Manager, under the "Performance" tab in "Memory" section. If you have 1 of 2 slots used, then yes, you can just find 12G stick and it would do the thing.
It has 1x2.5" bay and 1 m.2 slot. So no, you cannot just add another 512gb m.2 drive. You can purchase a 512gb 2.5" ssd and install it that way thought.
Yes you can but you probably wont be able to benefit from dual channel. But it ought to work fine and unless you are running an IGPU in your laptop the dual channel doesnt make that much of a difference. But i would still recomend buying either 2x16 or 2x8. Me personally i would buy 2x8 cause i dont need 32 Gigs of RAM but it depends on your needs.
SO-DIMM Ram, as far I know it only supports 2666Mhz , that what i did to mine, mine laptop version it's the one with GTX1650, 500Gb m.2 and a i7 9th generation
yep! Although it is recommended to use ram sticks with the same size and specs for dual channel and best compatibility, you can use a 16GB Stick and a 8GB stick together for a total of 4GB

Angga Praditya you have to use cloning software to move your windows from old SSD to your new SSD, The procedure is almost the same as this ua-cam.com/video/4LsNj0LEn4M/v-deo.html
you can also enter the bios by pressing F2 quickly when starting, don't need to use the Lenovo hole with a stick.
