I’ve been trucking class1 for 20yrs and if l never drove another wagon again I’d be a happy man.
I don’t think the crashed trucker is going to be very happy when he speaks to his boss lol
Not at all lol
I've been driving trucks for 30 years ...theres one thing I've always said ..I've never been out of work with a class one license......10 years in the army . 30 years trucking
True mate!
Your becoming a legend in the HGV world Deady keep it up mate. As a HGV driver myself at R T Keedwell Group but currently on furlough you keep my spirts up just watching you.
Hilarious - typical driver deciding what work / hours / load / trailer as if it's all about you! Lucky to have a job Deady and if you want those choices - work for yourself with your own truck where you will soon realise you take whatever you can get . Otherwise get out of the industry because it is abuse to all involved. Take care to you and all HGV drivers
You don’t know what was said behind the scenes though. You know what you have interpreted. Hopefully i will be an Owner Op one day, then i’ll know... then i’ll continue to prove everyone wrong about this industry.
And if i wanted to move elsewhere, i’d go. If i want to stay, i’ll stay. Your opinion is about as useful as a fart in a wetsuit.
@@Deady2012 Lol - good luck mate
@@Deady2012 I would so join ya on that adventure if I could haha
Are you a logistics manager? You sound like one, looking down yer nose at drivers.
Watching this on a Saturday night, much better than primetime TV. Keep them coming!
Hahahaha thanks mate
💪
loved the days in the 70s going out with my dad in a truck seeing the sights great times now an ex bus driver for city of oxford
I loved going out with my dad in his old Scania. Where my love started.
Same here Steve except it was the 80s for me. I used to love going out on the low loader with my dad, that’s what got me into the HGV game and I’m class one now. My dad tried to talk me out of it, but I love it. Yes it’s long hours and you can be away a lot in the week but the money decent and you are your own boss. No working in some office or factory with a boss breathing down your neck!
It was the fifties and sixties for me going on trips with my father. He also operated low loaders.
@@dennisrobinson7587 yes boys and their dads at work never changes👍
@@matty6848 my father also didn’t want me to go into the trucking industry.Unfortunaly I listened to him.But my own son drives transport and I occasionally go on trips with him.
I still remember my first night out in a AEC Mercuary at Chertsey.no bunk sat in passenger seat all night waking up every hour freezing my nuts off to turn engine on to warm up, but still drove HGV for nearly 30 years loved every minute, still miss it, Now driving a Sainsbury's van on home delivery,Be careful out there lot of idiots on the road.
Gareth, you really need to get out more if you're THAT taken with Plymouth 😂🤣

I love everywhere haha! Scotland, Wales, Bath, Glastonbury, Plymouth, Bovey Tracey. All absolutely gorgeous places.

Welcome to my home deady I'm originally from Plymouth born there and lived there for many years over the years been back and forth from there and Manchester for years watching this video brings back many memories of my home there
Used to. A banging place years ago when it was used heavily by the Royal Navy. Does the Navy still dock in Plymouth?
@@matty6848 I'm pretty sure it's still heavy in navy and the army.
Half of my family are still in the forces down there
Lovely place mate!
Nice to see you down my neck of the woods :) was commuting between exeter and plymouth to help keep busses on the road while you were filming, you must have passed me without me realising, the depo I was working at was left at the bridge with the boats
ws is stobarts, its william stobart who owns it,i liked doing nice easy to strap heras fencing loads ,i worked ar maurice hills in the mid eighties and i carried pit props, gas bottles, and rebar, the longest contracts were prefab steel for the aswan dam from sutton in ashfield to teesport and that was very tricky to strap securely lasted 12 weeks, and heras fencing from donny took me far and wide over the uk,i was always looking to get a better job with more money and i learned as i got older that relations with your employers and the staff are important.
who wants motorway when a nice drive down the A38 is a great drive. only problem is the lack of parking sections in areas think it is mainly right in the middle area between the M4 and M27. if I am not in a major rush I like to drive that way, but easily find that I run out of time and having to travel to Oxford then south to the M3 for Southampton.
Nice run down that road mate
Your an asset to their company deady. All the promotion through your videos. You'll be on the board of directors soon😂
I wanna stay a driver lol. I’d hate to come off the road.
Well that was strange seeing the roads I drive everyday and the estate I live in featuring in your video! (Plymouth resident here). Great to have you visit, glad you enjoyed the view.
Thanks a lot mate! Was great to be there
Glad to hear you got somewhere with your situation. Clearly you’re worth something to WS or they’d start to push you out
That’s the trouble with HGV firms Owen. When your a grafter like Deady they take the piss with you and start to take you for granted. Where as all the lazy sods and piss takers seem to get left alone by the managers. It’s happened to me, had me the same route for months back and forth it took me to threaten to leave for them to take me off the route. I asked nicely and like Gareth got no where, then I told them I was leaving and it changed🙂👍
I hope i am worth something to them mate.
Thanks 👍 Gareth for posting this new video and have a good weekend and I booked my class one in April.

Past you in Bromley today, I was in a little 7.5t bright orange B&Q truck lol good to see you around 👍

Which do you prefer driving at night or day time? You do your drinks and other stuff it's what you like. Like you had many a happy hour or two trying to find somewhere to parkup for the night. .Keep on trucking and stay safe . Do you get your original trailer back or just carry on with the one you have.

@Deady 2012 you do you pal, f**k the haters they're just jealous. I'm 51 and have made my mind up (thanks to you) to finally do my HGV. I should've done it twenty year ago instead of chasing the money as a gas fitter (f**king hate it). My Mrs didn't want me on the road all the time, but she passed away a couple yrs ago so now all I want to do is spend the next 20yrs tramping all over the place, maybe long distance across Europe who knows?

Quick question for you, im wondering how the 15h shift is build up like. because 6h working time + 6h working time = 12h, (incl 2x 4,5h driving time) then 12h + 1h extra driving time is 13 h. then the 1,5h mandatory breaks (because 10h driving is 2x 45min). that totales up to 14,5h doesn't it? Am i just missing that last 30 min somewhere?
There's no limit on "other work" drivers can do during a 15 hour day as long as their work time doesn't exceed 6 hours without a 15 minute break. Lots of drivers split their 45 minute break into 15 and 30 if their "other work" is approaching 6 hours and they still have a lot of drive time in their 4:30.
My day went something like this....
Other work at 3:30, start driving at 3:45.
7am 45 min break.
9am waiting to be unloaded 1 hour break.
Drive 11:30.
Stop 12:30 15 min break, eat food.
Drive 3 hours, 30 min break.
Drive an hour, get to site load up, secure load, set off, drive 30 mins park up 18:15.
Rest at 18:30.
9 hours 1 minute off, other work 3:30am start driving 3:45.
Repeat. Daily.

Much money. It cost thousands per year just to dock your boat doesn’t it? Never mind buying one. How much money do some people have🤷🏻♂️
'Lemars' is a breathing exercise for childbirth ya foo, not a bridge haha! You provide a fine insight for other drivers or wannabes - good man-management you have at WS if only all companies were like that. If I ever thought of quitting my job high-paying job and use my HGV license, I would check them out first. I've been watching your vids from when you started out, encouraged off my arse, and get them completed.
Ah well hahaha!
Deady - great vids and nice to see someone who cares about keeping in shape. Remember we live in a dystopian world where fat pride is woke and being in shape triggers all the victim group fatties.
I’m not allowed to talk about this kind of stuff on my channel, i get shouted at 😂😂
But i agree.... completely haha!
Very positive about WS but with the very high turn over of drivers says otherwise but as long as you are happy that’s the main thing but I could not live on there actual hourly rate and not there 1 pound per hour lunch allowance which you can Claim yourself anyway it’s just a clever way of the company paying the drivers less
Entertaining as always Deady. Keep up the videos mate.
