Hi I’m really enjoying your videos I’ve always wanted to become a hgv driver but can’t afford the license lol so I gess I’ll have to dream hahaha shout out to you and all trampers keeping the uk stocked with all our needs 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
Tip for you and all the new drivers that follow you, treat the reverse manoeuvre onto a bay exactly as you would pull off a bay as regards vehicle position. What I mean is when you pull off a bay you drive straight forward and don't turn until the trailer is clear then turn sharp essentially making a right angle turn, you never pull 3/4 of the way out and drive diagonally until you're out then straighten (you approached the bay diagonally). Good tip is to drive past the bay you want, 15-20ft away from the front of the units or trailers that are on the bays, have the back of your trailer level with the 3rd bay past the 1 you want, don't aim for the gap using the vehicles either side of your bay as markers, imagine your bay starts around 10ft further forward, that way your trailer will be straighter as it enters the gap between the 2 vehicles. Don't use the corner of the trailer as the reference point for lining up on the bay, on a tri axle trailer use the centre axle to line up with the lines, on a tandem use the gap between the 2 wheels. Remember when you are reversing you are not driving the unit, you are steering the trailer. Shunters are experts, watch how they do it. And yes you are right, Dafs are horrid to reverse, especially with a tandem axle trailer. Really enjoying your videos, which has surprised me, because after 30 years and approx 2.5mil miles, when I get home, trucks are the last thing I want to look at . 😜

Good to see the helpful stuff back Deady - I get what you mean about the haters - there’s always someone wants to pull you down, but don’t get dragged into a slanging match - it’s nit worth the stress. You’ve developed a great channel, don’t cock it up altogether and spoil what is otherwise great for people who have a genuine passion about the industry and the profession. How you earn your money is your business, we all work to earn money, but for those of us lucky enough to be passionate about what we do, that’s the golden ticket. I’m booked for my class 1 test beginning of December and looking forward to getting on the road. Hoping to go tramping from the outset. Deady. Has the best job in the world.
Keep the vids coming, glad you’re making a few £ out of them.
You were going on about Robert Summer’s. They’ve always had an extremely mint fleet & his fleet is fairly local to me as the Summer’s fleet is based in Buckhaven a wee town in North East Fife around 20minutes from Falkland my home 🏡 village Deady.
Summers is a gorgeous fleet
@@Deady2012 yeah it sure is as talk about proud Fifers as some of his fleet I’m sure have names like Fife Voyager & other FANTASTIC NAMES I can’t remember. But if you ever get to Truckfest at Ingleston Roberts usually has some of his fleet on display there. & he does have a FANTASTIC LOOKING Fleet with a fantastic looking livery. Extremely proud to be Scottish as he always has a couple of Saltires 🏴 on his tractor units.
It’s not about u earning money from you tube about haters it’s about watching u get wound up with your comments.
You can put anything you want on your channel as it’s your channel, but you may not get many viewers? Personally I never knew you were an Agency driver. I was just watching you out of boredom. Would be nice to know what your doing today? I subscribed this month. Interested if bus driving is more boring than doing HGV. I’m not a hater.

No idea haha! Wasn’t high, i don’t hang around 😂
You forgot the snow flakes in your intro and that bugie noise is really your "bird" isn't it🤣 new job? Been sacked?🤣 good game fella
Just passed theory and hazard perception this morning. Now to get mod2, then practical sorted out
Good luck
Deedy, thinking of joining the profession, I like the content, I'm sure our lass would say "you've said the same thing in 3 different ways" 🤷♂️ shows what is known
I'd book a day off work for the experience! I'm a plumber, feel a change needed 👍🏻
Love all your videos mate keep them coming
Another Soon to be newbie here.. good job on the vids deady keep posting them I'll keep watching and liking 🤣 say what you want bud!
Thanks a lot mate
Dad was a trucker all his life, and I’ve somehow just not had the chance til now to follow my dreams, but I’m looking forward to my next chapter. Keep up the good work and if you’re ever over Grimsby way, give us a shout!!
