Hey very detailed video . Soooo wait you dont actually need the jdm mirror assembly. If you have the motor, you can do this mod to any prelude since that harness will connect to the usdm harness . Or am I wrong here ? 🤔
@Staycool86 it is the motor that the harness is for. The JDM mirror control with fold motor and the USDM mirror control motor have two different harnesses. So no, you can't just put the JDM motor in a USDM housing and call it a day.the reason to swap the housing is because we drive on the left side and the Japanese model drives on the right side. This makes the housings angled differently for the mirror view. With the JDM housing you can't adjust the passenger side mirror properly. Hence the need to take the guts from the JDM housing and transfer it to the USDM housing.
a touch of style that makes the difference- please some information if possible, do you think it's the same for the fourth generation? If I see well, keep the shell of your painted mirrors ? Thank you
I have not seen a set for the 4th gen Prelude. I know that the 5th gen mirrors do not fit the 4th gen either. I transferred all the internals from the JDM power folding set to my USDM factory mirror housings allowing me to keep my factory painted shell.
@@HellCatEnt Thanks for the reply, that's what I wanted to know. because I'm Italy, I use a translator and I can't understand the words-- i can also find them used for 4 and if I can figure out the wiring I would like to do it too very beautiful
@@nayarmikhael7080 they do not, unfortunately. Honda did not design them this way at this time. I've been thinking of ways to wire up a new relay or something to do so.
@nayarmikhael7080 I've seen in old forums people talking about trying to mod it when using an alarm system. I don't think you can just wire it to the immobilizer. I think possibly more tapping into the door lock system with a relay. Most of these Preludes came with remote lock/unlock so I feel if maybe tap a relay from the lock system when it sends the signal it can power a relay for the mirrors possibly.
Cool beans! Great video! 👍
Thank you!
So informative🙌🏼🙏🏼
Thank you! Gotta spread the knowledge!

i would like to know the answer to this too

do they fold when you lock the car and u fold when you unlock?

@@HellCatEnt you think if you wire it to the immobilizer so that when it gets the signal of lock and unlock it could send power to it?
